Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Georgetown garners praise for its stellar location, well-regarded for easy access to metro stops, dining options, and iconic D.C. sights, which makes it especially appealing for families and sightseers. The amenities, including a generous breakfast and a celebrated happy hour, contribute to the hotel's warm and welcoming atmosphere, though some guests suggest there's room for improvement. While the staff's attentiveness and service are frequently commended, concerns about sporadic service delays and housekeeping issues are noted. Room comfort is acknowledged, but grievances about AC functionality and outdated elements are mentioned. Value perceptions are mixed, with some guests feeling the pinch of high parking fees and additional charges.

Our room and beds were comfortable. The two queen beds and pull out couch worked well for my teen kids (16 and 15). Our room was quiet and clean. Everyone on staff at the hotel was kind and helpful.

The free breakfast includes omelets, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, cereal, and yogurt. It’s pretty complete and I think many will be happy. However it is crowded and you may have to wait a bit for an omelette and sometimes getting a clean table can take a few minutes.

The happy hour is nice. It’s simple snacks like chips and salsa or goldfish crackers or veggies and ranch dip. There was always a line about 5 deep at the bar but the bartenders are moving efficiently.

A few slightly picky lowlights:
I didn’t find the location that central or convenient for sight seeing. We took cabs/Lyfts.

The pool is small and maximum depth is 4 feet. It’s often filled with kids. This is to be expected at a tourist destination in the summer. I just wish pool was a bit larger.

Eating dinner here seemed to take a while. One night we waited an hour for the food. The staff warned us ahead of time which was much appreciated.

There is a $25 a day resort fee.

You have to ask 24 hours in advance if you want your room cleaned. Not a big deal - just a little inconvenient.

Overall great stay!

We visited Washington in February 2020 well before we were aware of Coronavirus and social distancing, which was fine because the first weekend there (President's Day holidays) the hotel was overflowing.
Fine and quiet rooms - we had a one bedroom suite which was spacious and situated away from the often noisy atrium - and breakfast/drinks en the evening included.
The service was at times exceptional - while we were there, we sold an appartment in Oslo, Norway and we had to print out contracts etc., and the reception was ready, willing and able to help us with all practicalities, such as printing etc.
When the weekend and President's day was over, the crowds left and life became easier.
The hotel is really centrally located and we walked everywhere, the Smithsonian, Georgetown, Dupont Circle, all within a few minutes.

This hotel is not actually in Georgetown but close. The area is upscale and seems safe at night. The layout is standard Embassy Suites -- a huge atrium with a large sitting and eating area, nicely furnished lobby, spacious suites, clean, and helpful staff. The free included breakfast is excellent with both hot and cold items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries etc, with made to order omelettes is desired), coffee, juices, bagels, muffins etc. There were no problems with overcrowding when we were there (early January). The manager's reception in the evening has free wine and beer, with an opportunity to upgrade to better drinks for a modest fee. We ate in the lobby for dinner and the food is fine, as usual a little expensive but a decent selection. The hotel was quiet (we were on the third floor). Garage parking is expensive at $55 per night and the Parking hero alternatives were not a great deal given no in and out privileges. Metro is about an eight minute walk and there are plenty of Ubers and cabs. Some reasonable causal lunch options within five minutes walk. I'd stay here again if I needed to be in the general area, although it's not all that close to the National Mall if that's what you want.

Front desk: understaffed but pleasant
Door/valet: friendly, hard working
Breakfast: obviously, Hilton is cheaping out. Security at the helm, making sure everyone getting off the elevators, heading straight to breakfast are guests. Low quality pastries, generic gummy yogurt. Milk didn't taste fresh. No fresh waffles. "For our safety" we can't use a spoon to get our own scrambled eggs, use a tong for bacon or a waffle machine, but we can get oatmeal with a ladle, bread and pastries with tongs. Waffles and french toast were cold and steamed. Disgusting. One day there were elementary school French toast sticks.
Breakfast bussers: hard working.
Housekeeping: Non-existent.
If no one is going to empty trash cans, wipe down the room, replace glasses, supplies or toilet paper or refresh towels, then a system needs to be in place to replace a few of the many workers you let go so guests can get these things in an easy and timely manner. Have several people tending to guest's needs. You are supposed to be in hospitality, after all.
This is supposed to be a vacation, not extra work with us begging for supplies.
Hilton, you're obviously cheating guests of services to save money under the guise of "keeping us safe".

I spent two nights here for a business trip. As many previous reviews have stated, this really is a fantastic base to explore the city. The staff were friendly and helpful and I wasn’t bothered by street noise during the night.

The area this property needs to focus on are its guest rooms. February is not a hugely busy month in DC so I paid about $250 a night for my room. If I had paid more, I would have felt pretty ripped off. I was “upgraded” to a accessible suite, which, while a nice gesture in principle was actually not great as I had no need for any of the features of this particular room type, and some, like the shower seat and lower shower head, actually made me less comfortable. The air in the room was bone dry- even after just two nights my skin, hair, and eyes were all suffering the effects of the lack of humidity. The bed pillows were universally terrible quality and the bed linens were itchy, so I slept poorly throughout my stay. It all just felt a bit tired and in need of some TLC.

I would not return to this property unless I got a similarly good price and the other hotels in the area were booked up.

Check in was not bad after 4pm. I specially told them I wanted the trash taken out of our room everyday and new bath towels and they never came through. Everyday I had to call front desk and or housekeeping to get trash taken out and new towels in the evening after coming back to the room. After complaining a 4th time one of the reps up front gave me a small discount to the total price. It helped a bit. The breakfast is ok, but get down there early before 8am because sitting is limited for such a big hotel. Wifi was the worst I’ve experienced in over 20 plus years of traveling. I called to ask about the weak signal and non connection and they just apologized and said they were having problems. When on vacation with kids Wifi is a must for the evenings/nights to wind down. The restroom sink did not drain properly and would take forever for water to go down. The nightlight in the restroom was very nice for the kids to get up at night. The safe would sometimes lock. Had to try multiple times to lock it all 4 days there. There is a Walgreens a block away which is convenient. There are very limited food choices/restaurants in the area within walking distance (> 1 mile) for families. The 2 queen beds were very comfortable and the living room is a big plus when you have children. You can easily spread out. Even had a table with 3 chairs to sit at and eat or read. The sofa and chair were very comfortable as well. The TV was a very nice big LG. The A/C was nice and cold. I would not stay here again if we went to DC just because no good food choices in area, no good housekeeping and the wifi was poor. Never got a chance to go to indoor pool, but it always seemed to have people there. Georgetown is a nice and quite area and very safe.

I was very impressed by the breakfast buffet service. The make to order chefs were friendly and efficient. Tables were cleaned promptly. Some Embassy Suites are chaotic in the morning rush, but this one seemed very orderly and well stocked throughout the morning.
My only complaint was there was only one thermostat for a two room suite - in the living room portion. My room was cold throughout my stay, even after I cranked the temperature to the max. Curiously, the fan was on a motion detector in the bedroom. However, the fan would go on even after I turned the A/C off entirely, and it would turn on when there was NO motion in the room after approximately 5 minutes. I would think motion would turn on a fan, so it wouldn’t blow in an empty room.
I would definitely return if I had another visit in DC.

I wish they make the parking fee more cheaper and reasonable. The surcharges after we check out were surprisingly expensive. We can get the overall cleanliness, service and complimentary breakfast at a reasonable price at any Holiday Inn or IHG hotels and Inns.

We chose to stay at Embassy Suites from our previous positive experiences with this chain.
PROS: The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and the room was very spacious. The morning breakfast buffet has an omelette/fresh egg station and other breakfast items. The location is relatively convenient depending on where you want to visit in DC. Taxis are always nearby for sites that are further away. There is a great market across the street for snacks or fresh fruit and veg.
CONS: There doesn't seem to be any "quiet hours" policy here that most hotels have. At 10, 11, midnight there were still kids literally running down the halls outside the room. Of course, this is more to do with parenting than the hotel but I would think that some gentle reminders while people are sleeping would be appreciated. We also had neighbors partying and laughing very loud right next door to us from 4am onward which woke all four of us up.
Housekeeping: when we arrived they asked us if we wanted the room to be cleaned every 24 hours, or not at all. We chose 24 hours. we didn't realize we needed to actually schedule that. As a result, our room never got cleaned. When we requested a clean at 10 am for that same day, they said that it was too late to request it but they could drop off towels, etc. They did drop off towels and soap but no coffee which was a bummer.
If the noise level and housekeeping issues could be dialed in, this would be a great place to stay.

I had the pleasure of dinning at this hotel's restaurant, District Tap. Even as a hotel restaurant, District Tap is comparable to other high end restaurants in the city.

While all the food was delicious there are two items worth a special mention. First, the quesadillas were a great start to the meal, we ended up getting a second order of them. The homemade salsa that came with it was out of this world. The ingredients tasted very fresh, as if they were picked just a few minutes before serving. The second item were the mushrooms. I usually refuse to eat mushrooms, but I could not resist finishing every single one. I could not believe how deliciously the mushrooms were prepared. YUM!

As for service, we have to thank Jose Rivera our bartender for our excellent cocktails and our waiter Mahlet who was very friendly and attentive. Even the manger Raja kept talking with us and made us feel like family.

Even if you are not staying at the hotel, it is still worth a visit to District Tap.
