Great Location (near Metro, Navy Yard, ballpark, and USMC 8th and I). Lots of places to eat close by and great walking area. Staff very friendly and weather permitting, a full service rooftop bar. Breakfast had something for everyone and a Starbucks is close by.

The individual working when we finally were able to checkin 5 hours post checkin time was very rude. Coming out of a pandemic is difficult. But your staff need to be cognizant of those who make reservations and try to honor those without making us feel like we are the inconvenience. Maybe not selling out more rooms than you can clean timely and prepare would be ideal. The facility was beyond clean and nice, but the way your staff handle guests could be improved and more accommodating especially for the price we paid for one night.

Needed a last minute local stay while some reno was being done in my home and chose the Hampton for price, location, and being pet friendly (free of charge).

If you are visiting D.C., I think this is a good spot anyway for the budget friendly stay. Walking distance to stores, food spots, coffee, and next door to the metro. I wouldn’t choose this location if I was driving though, can’t imagine where one would park especially on a work or game day. Still taxi or rideshare will get you where you need to go quick, short ride to the museums and memorials.

Check- in was a breeze, staff was friendly, and I had one minor issues when the toilet stopped working.

Nothing fancy obviously, solid spot.

Wow, I usually don't write reviews but this property has some serious issues. From rooms with incredibly loud external noise and lights on all night on two faces of the hotel, to power outages that the staff couldn't be bothered to inform you of or apologize for, to having to hold on the phone over 30 minutes when calling to report an overcharge, then holding 15 minutes more for someone to help who couldn't help. During the power outage, the front desk would not pick up the phone. The elevator services at least 10 floors and takes forever, and the stairs are not positioned to make it easy to find an alternative. Wow. I recommend staying far away from this place. I will never stay there again and makes me wonder about staying at other Hampton Inns.

I am writing this review from the perspective of an Honors Diamond member. I stayed here recently to attend a Nationals game. This is a very nice hotel; staff were pleasant, it is very convenient to the Metro Navy Yard station and there are plenty of restaurants around, fitness room was adequate and so was the free breakfast ... HOWEVER the Ballpark view room I was given was a nice corner room with a view of the parking lot and the baseball stadium behind it... The rooms should be more accurately advertised as "partial ballpark view" or "obstructed ballpark view." In comparison, the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor has fantastic unobstructed views of Camden Yards... a treat for baseball fans. Even though you can't beat the convenience of being right in front of the stadium, if you're an avid baseball fanatic, you may be disappointed by the "ballpark view" from the rooms. (NOTE: The ballpark view from the rooftop deck and bar area is a little better.) Other than that, nice standard hotel to stay in for a DC trip.

Thank you DrJN1968 for taking the time to post a review. At the beginning of this baseball season we changed the name of those rooms from "Ballpark View" to "Stadium View", since that is the only part that is viewable from those room type. I would like to apologize that this may have confused you. Hopefully you won't let that unfortunate incident deter you from staying with us in the future. Kind regards,

My bill was not correct, although I explained what I needed when I checked in.

I asked that 2 credit cards be used, one was a personal card and one was a business card. I asked that 1 night be charged on the personal card, and 3 nights on the business card. I also asked when I checked in about the valet parking and was told that it was included based on the type of reservation I made.

I had the bills emailed to me, and just got around to looking at them today. 4 nights was charged to my personal card. There was a charge to my business card, too, but not for a nights stay. It was for one day of valet parking, which was already included in the costs of the room that ended up being charged on my personal card!

In other words, both of my bills were screwed up!

Any idea how this can be fixed without me being on the phone for who knows how long, trying to explain this to someone??

Another staff interaction issue was concerning points/snacks for my "status". Instead of the usual credit or snacks per guest, per day, I was told that because the property was small I could only get one bag of potato chips for me and one formy wife, one time! No additional offers, even though my wife and I both stayed from Tuesday until Saturday. I'm only Gold status, but other properties have given much more "perks" for less nights of stay.

As far as Room Temperature/Control is concerned, the thermostats seemed to have been locked set at 75 degrees, although we could set them to whatever we wanted. At night or during the day the temperature in the room appeared to remain around 75 regardless what we set the thermostat to. We were told that nothing could be done.

As I mentioned, the room itself was pretty nice overall, but the experiences noted above were less than desirable.

So very dissapointed. So many problems. Ask repeatedly from 8:00 AM Friday until check-out at 10:00 AM Saturday to speak to a Manager, always told none available. Ask for manager's card at check-out no one had one. 2 night stay. Booked King Mobility Accessible room. Pictures show wide room, chair between bed and window, description lists work desk and chair. Room we were given was so small, there was no desk and the chair shown in photo would not fit between bed and window. Instead it was at foot of bed blocking the cubby where you hang your clothes. I had to step over/around to get into bed. My wife uses a wheelchair and/or electric scooter to ambulate. Room so small I had to leave one in car because there was not enough room for both in room. She had to park scooter between her side of bed and wall or leave in front of room door. Very dangerous. Other issues included bathroom sink did not drain, shower control goes both directions and begins with very hot water, again dangerous. Room keys did not work for hotel outer doors in the back. Hotel valet listed as $60 per night but they add another $10.80 for tax. ?? Should be listed that way then. Where you arrive to drop car for valet there is no access for wheelchair user in front of hotel. Wife had to go down half a block or so to get onto the sidewalk. This is in the street with afternoon DC traffic, very poor planning and dangerous. I cannot believe Hilton chooses to treat disabled people this way, I plan on speaking with someone from the US Department of Justice concerning this situation and what remedies might be available under the Americans With Disabilities Act. If you did not want disabled people staying at this location, or you did not have the room that I reserved based on your website descriptions then you should not have taken my points and my money. We have been loyal brand customers for many years and maintain a Diamond status within the Hilton Honors program. Does anyone within the company even care?

Dear Valued Guest: First and foremost, we appreciate your feedback. I would like to personally apologize to you for the inconvenience, and for not being able to connect with one of our Manger's. Providing excellent customer service is our #1 priority, and I am sorry to learn that we failed to meet your expectations. When reviewing your reservation history, we were able to confirm that you did receive the correct room type which was reserved, however the online image may have been a bit misleading which we will review, and address. I do apologize for the inconsistency with the shower handle and sink drain. I understand that our team did correct both problems in your guest room. Unfortunately, the back & side doors are exit only for our guest's safety. Once again, I would like to truly apologize to you and your wife any convenience that we may have caused. Also, as for the valet parking the signage does read $60 as mentioned, and the tax rate is billed automatically. Unfortunately, we are unable to post signage showing the tax. Also, I understand that we were able to connect with you on the phone and were able to make things right! Once again, we appreciate your feedback! Thank you, Hotel Managment

The hotel itself is nice and is located conveniently in the Navy Yard next to the Nationals Park, a minute walk from the beautiful riverfront and hopping restaurant/bars (and for us, from our daughter 😀❤️). The man who checked us in was lovely. Made us smile. We were so happy with our hotel choice!

There was nice coffee and tea and bottles of water at check in. We got to our room. Lovely.

Now my criticism (with compliments also).

1. They didn’t clean our room. When i called to say why isn’t our room cleaned they gave an excuse of Covid. What???!!! He said you need to give us 24 hour notice if you want your room cleaned. No mention of this, whatsoever, was made when we checked in.
2. The complimentary coffee is yucky. Yes, it’s free, but we didn’t drink it since it didn’t taste very good. Stick with the tea!
3. The pillows are eh. The mattress and comforter were good, however.
4. Breakfast - no buffet due to Covid. Boxed juice, muffin, yogurt very nice. Gas station quality egg and cheese, or egg, cheese and sausage, biscuits. Better than nothing! My biggest complaint … The worker at the breakfast counter refused to give me an extra breakfast sandwich to take up to my daughter who was still sleeping. When I immediately went to the front desk the lady did nothing about it. She said the manager is in the back let me talk to him. I waited for 10 minutes then gave up. Nice to be glared at and made to feel you are a glutton (pig). Management must have talked to her because she offered extra biscuits there next day, but with a definite attitude.
5. We called the first night and told the front desk that our bathroom faucet was falling off. It was bedtime so we arranged for them to fix it the next morning. It was never fixed. We stayed there 3 nights.

If it was not for the problems, we would have given the hotel 4/5 stars

We stayed at this hotel for the Nationals Winterfest weekend. It's perfect for a short stay, the location cannot be beat and it's fun to gather for breakfast in the morning. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but I'd prefer a better view (all the 2-bed rooms seem to look out the back at the utilities) and carpeting.

But it's comfortable, affordable and across the street from Nationals Park. Enjoy!

Road trip with a couple buddy's for a couple ball games. Location, Location, Location for the Stadium Across the street. Roof top bar is great when it is "Open". Doesn't open until 4:00 PM. After first night game we headed up there after the game. Just closed. They said they close an hour after the game but it didn't take us an hour to walk up there. Nice view of the field from up there. Room rates are what is expected for the location. But be prepared for $55 plus tax for the parking and they wisk your car away about a block away so make sure you are prepared to grab everything you need when you arrive. And make sure you know where you are going when you arrive because you can drive right by it or be on the side and very little signage and its blocked by a tree. PS You must request maid service because we didn't receive any.
