This hotel was amazing. Clean, modern, secure, accommodating, great food and bar. And close to local sites. A bus load of us arrived before 7 am, and they furnished a place for us to store our luggage, freshen up, and even eat at their breakfast bar!!

I would have rated this stay as 5 star had it not been for the experience on the final day.

An excellent hotel, really well located in DC. We had a room overlooking K street. The room had floor to ceiling windows over the street but it was quiet, no issues with noise.
The room was spacious and everything you could want was included also a large and well appointed bathroom.

The gym was good and well equipped.

Breakfast, included, was busy but food never ran out although you did have to queue if you arrived in the morning rush. Great selection and lovely coffee.

Why not 5 star? Well when we checked out we were asked to pay an occupancy tax, this was on top of our fully pre-paid (by a travel agent) accomodation. We were credited for the amount the same day but what a way to spoil an otherwise excellent stay. The error was blamed on a computer hitch

Room was clean, concierge was extremely helpful, parking is only for compact cars so be prepared to use a parking garage. No hot breakfast due to covid but it was good (muffin, yogurt, banana, granola bar, & juice). Businesses downtown are boarded up FYI!

One of the reasons we booked this hotel is because it offered valet parking and we wanted to make sure we will not have issues parking our SUV. Upon arrival, we found out  there was no valet parking available and no other options for parking. We had to drive around for hours to look for a parking spot. One was available, but only until 7am the next morning at which time we had to move the car and look for another parking spot. Needless to say this was a pretty significant inconvenience, considering our busy schedule. The hotel appears to be under renovations, which was not mentioned on the website.  The lobby looks cluttered, messy and uninviting. When we walked in, I actually had to ask if this was, indeed, a hotel. There was no shower gel/soap in the room, I had to specifically request some to be brought to us. Overall, very disappointing experience. I would not recommend the hotel and will not be booking again.

This hotel is at a great location and launching point for all the sites in Washington DC. The perks end there. The quality of service provided by staff was the worst I've ever experienced at a Hyatt. Everyone was very nice and polite, however nothing ever got done. Our room was not ready on time when we went to check in. We were supposed to have housekeeping clean our room two times during the week and only got it once after 3 requests (this sort of service is essential when you have three kids traveling with you). It took numerous requests to get simple things completed. We had fewer towels than people in our room, and it took almost an hour to get new ones and multiple requests. We needed our car at a specific time the day we left and the request was not completed even though I confirmed multiple times (valet is your only convenient parking option). Our refrigerator was broken in our room and the maintenance person denied that it was broken. It took nagging to get a new one while we had dairy items getting warm. We also had errant charges on our bill for restaurant items even though we never went to the restaurant. Again, location is great to go anywhere in the city, but the perks end there.

Location to the white house is good but the room was tiny, we had myself, my wife and a six year old and we could barely get around the room. When we arrived we were told that Valet was the only option to park ($49 + tax), we found out later we could have self parked. As it was July 4th weekend we were told at check in that breakfast would be till 10am the next morning. Went down at 9:15am to find it was all put away and the lady said it was only till 9am. There are so many options in DC for hotels, we paid a little more for the Hyatt Place as I have always had good experiences with them but I will not stay there again and we frequent DC often as we only live an hour and half away.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 times. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to the Whitehouse and nearby attractions and there are restaurants very close by. My criticism would be the common areas .. they are a bit tired and need of updating. But, the rooms are great!

I think Hyatt Place hotels are a bit overpriced if you're paying full freight, but they are a great deal if you join their rewards club and have credit card points to convert.

I traveled DC for business and also wanted to see the cherry blossoms, visit a museum, and spend time with a local friend. This location was close to the federal offices I needed, a short walk to the Smithsonian museums, national Mall, and tidal basin, and pretty close to Logan Square for groceries, restaurants, etc., or you can walk east to more restaurants a movie theater, etc.
The area isn't great for dining or nightlife, but it's easy to get around on foot, via Metro (less than two blocks away, and about 35 minutes to DCA), or ride share.

The staff is excellent - helpful, professional, friendly, and efficient. I do think housekeeping is a bit lacking, but that's common at Hyatt Place and not specific to this location; it's odd what they choose to clean and not. For example, they made the bed up tightly, replaced my bath towel and brought more washcloths, but left a used, wet washcloth, left dirty drinking glasses and didn't bring more, and left the wet, used bag in the ice bucket.

Breakfast is a nice perk, though the fruit could have been better with more variety. I loved the crispy triangle hash browns, and if you happen to be vegan like me, you can have those, fruit salad, toast with jam, oatmeal with oat milk, and maybe more options I didn't see. The coffee was truly terrible, though - even with oat milk.

I have stayed at the Hyatt Place up on M Street as well, and that location has slightly larger rooms and it's in a more lively location, but I thought the service here was better. This building definitely seems older, and I noticed signs of wear and past issues, like heavily patched ceilings and an uneven floor in my room. Then again, there want a brick wall 10 feet from my window in this one, so you can't really lose with either location.

I will keep this one short, city break, 3 nights. $600 all in.

Its cheap and cheerful. But for $200 a night all in its good value especially with free breakfast.

Was at 100% occupancy so always busy. Breakfast did get very busy but they kept the food topped up. Finding a table was the biggest problem. It wasn't amazing food, but it got you going for the day and the staff worked hard. The only thing they could improve is a better toaster. The one they have takes about 6 minutes to toast bread (not a joke).

Staff were always polite and said hello.

Room, basic but very usable. We did find the walls PAPER THIN though. We could basically hear everything said next door (in fine detail). On our first night the room next door pulled their roller blind down at 1am and I jumped up because I thought someone was in our room.

Shower was alright but the shower head is fixed into position and the water goes where the water goes. Would be better if you could at least change the angle. I am 5.10 and was ok for me just about but my wife who is 5.7 was basically on her tip toes to get under the water flow. I really should take a star off for the shower but given the cost I will just chalk it up to you pay for what you get.

No room service - DC pizza does great business here (we had it 2 nights).

Ubers easy to get takes max 2-3 mins for an uber. White House is a 5 min walk. Lots of places to eat around, felt quite safe. No issues in that regard. CVS right over the road for snacks and drinks.

Clean, safe, value thats what you get.

Would defo go back. Would just take ear plugs!!!

I always find Hyatt Place to be good quality for the money when I travel for business, but the staff at the DC White House location have been exceptional all three times I've stayed -- friendly, competent, going out of their way to help. The hotel is in a great, central location ... which makes transportation everywhere super efficient, but does mean a bit of street noise (earplugs are a nice offer, but beware if you aren't able to sleep with them and/or with noise).

These rooms are atypical. Expect a smaller room than the photos indicate and know that the seating arrangements are compressed into a small space. Enjoy the location, which is ideal. Best to call and ask/express your needs to see if they can accommodate your expectations.
