The Cambria Hotel on O Street in Washington, DC is beautiful! The ambience is so warm and welcoming. It is a very clean hotel which you can tell when you enter the lobby. The staff is amazing and their customer service is second to none. The breakfast was awesome. I really enjoyed my stay. Whenever, I am in the Washington, DC area again I will definitely stay at this hotel.

The hotel itself is pretty nice. The rooms are modern but not spacious if you’re sleeping more than 2. The pool was described as heated but it was pretty chilly and there were no towels available and the hotel said they ran out. The front desk was EXTREMELY rude. Very disrespectful. Even when we called for towels we were told “no we ran out and the laundry guy is on break and we don’t know when he’ll be back.” The bathroom shower wasn’t very clean, there was some mildew built up. Some of the spare sheets had stains. The elevators worked very oddly. Parking was $30 for a day or $45 for valet which was unfortunate. Again, decent enough hotel but you could find better value in the area I’m sure.

Dear emilyrO5192HF, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. My sincere apologies you found our front desk associates to be rude and the hotel to not be a good overall value. Our associates strive to provide sincere hospitality and we clearly missed the mark. Thank you for your honest feedback which we will use to foster improvement; for that reason, we hope to see you on a return trip. Sincerely, Kenneth Clark General Manager

First impressions are the staff could be more friendly. Trying to make small talk at checkin was met with dead silence. Our first room had not been cleaned from the previous occupant, and after dragging our heavy luggage up and back down again to reception the staff member didn’t even care to apologise for the inconvenience. Not a great impression after travelling 12 hours from overseas to get to this hotel.

We were also told housekeeping was “not available” so our room would not be cleaned throughout our stay. Weird for a hotel of such a size not to have any housekeeping, but nevermind.

Second room was nice overall. Bathroom was in need of a bit of care (eg the sealant around the shower was broken and mouldy in places). Construction across the road was a bit noisy though and also worth noting is pthe AC unit made weird noises. Wasn’t given any coffee cups by housekeeping so went to ask for some, only to be told “we don’t have many so the most we can give you is two cups”. OK, again a bit weird..

Mask wearing by staff members was also
hit and miss. At one point we shared the elevator with a staff member who didn’t have the courtesy to wear his mask, which I must add is illegal as per DC law.

Staff member at checkout was much more friendly and personable. Shame he wasn’t on duty when we checked in!

I recently stated at the Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Convention Center for 9 nights for back to back conferences. This was my first hotel stay and travel since the pandemic and I want to thank all of the staff of this hotel for such a nice stay. Every single staff member I encountered, front desk staff, restaurant and bar staff, cleaning staff could not have been more pleasant. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate any requests I had and to make me feel welcome. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious. The bathroom too. While the room was not serviced every day (post Covid, few hotels offer daily cleaning) they made it clear that if I needed anything to just ask, I did, and they did not let me down. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for only one night while making our way home. Staff were very nice, the hotel is very modern, and the rooftop terrace is to die for. The room was very nice, and well laid out, although it would have been better if it was bigger. The view from the rooftop is amazing, and you can see all of the main attractions and buildings of DC, including the White House, Capitol Building, Washington Monument, and the Smithsonian. The White House is a 15 min. walk away, and there are tons of restaurants in the area. Staff was very helpful with our late night McDonalds order for dinner as it was a very long day of driving. This hotel is amazing for people exploring the DMV area, as it is very central, and for those driving to Baltimore, it is only a 40 min. drive. Would recommend!

as i always start, it is not a 5 star hotel, but met all of my needs of a 7 day visit for $89+ tax. 3 blocks from the Mt Vernon /Convention center Metro. the hotel is 8 years old, and i found it to be in fine shape. the suites are fairly good sized, i had a corner unit, that was L shaped, but it appears most are a rectangle. the bed area and the fold out couch living area have a divider between them, in case you wanted a bit of privacy. my room was very clean and WELL VACUUMED. i have noticed over the years that many hotels don't vacuum the room carpets enough, here they do. everybody i came in contact with was helpful and nice. i didn't have any problems with the neighborhood, and there is a nice Giant food store one block away[if you don't have a Giant card ask the checkers if you can use the store number and save a few bucks.] not sure what they charge for parking , but $50 seems to be pretty normal in DC? there is a Unoin 76 gas station a 1/2 a block away, that offers $20 per day parking, not sure if that is good for over night, but might be worth checking on. they offer a breakfast for sale, but i didn't try it, used my refrigerator and micro wave and the Giant store. you can also walk 4 or 5 blocks and connect with the yellow circulator bus.

My two night stay on September 27th and 28th couldn't have been better. Front desk and housekeeping staff were really friendly and my suite (RM 617 ) was excellent. Special thanks to the lady and gentleman that worked AM and PM shifts on Monday for handling my stay extension without a fuss.
There are multiple restaurants in the vicinity and this is a perfect location for those wanting to experience the 'real' Washington DC.
Guests have access to the roof terrace for a fantastic 360 degree views of the city.
I will return many times.

The Cambria is a lovely hotel located within an easy walking distance to the National Mall, If you prefer, there are buses and the rail system, plenty of transportation choices. The queen suites we were in were very clean, spacious and well-ordered, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The Giant, a wonderful grocery store, is located in the very next block which opens up around 6 am, so we were able to shop there before our meeting. But, above all of that was the outstanding service of the hotel staff. Maurice not only provided excellent valet service, but engaged with us in delightful and informative conversation about the area. Our waiter, Orlando, stayed after his shift was over to make sure our order was delivered in a timely manner. Even the chef reopened the kitchen to accomodate us. Chris and Michael at the fron desk went to great lengths to help me recover my lost phone, replying to a text sent to me and trying to contact me every half hour to let me know it was safe. My fellow church members and I were well pleased with our experience at the Cambria and highly recommend it.

Stayed a Cambria Hotel for conference, paid $199 per night for four nights with King Bed. Location to DC conference Center close and excellent. This is NOT a luxury hotel by any metric regardless of advertisements. The best description of Cambria is an upscale college dorm room. Furnishing, OK, busy used heavily. Coffee maker heavily used, and did not work, they sent replacement, but left old appliance in room. Shower handle pulled off wall, again, heavy use issue. It had been repaired before, and we got it repaired again. They were explicit in telling me that they don’t change towels and linens without request each day. Again, think college dorm. Staff changes frequently, but service OK. Think dorm RA. Restaurant, simple, not very good food, you pay for coffee warmed over that you get yourself from caraf. Again, think college dorm. The pool was under repair, but I think this is always the case. No need for bathing suit here. If you need a close place to dc conference setting, you aren’t picky or demanding about furnishings, service or a fancy restaurant, or any real amenities, then this place is OK.

I understand that perception is often times subjective and based on experiences. So, take this review as my perception of this hotel.
I work in the hospitality industry and have noticed a lack of follow through in customer satisfaction post covid 19. Hotels are trying to recoop monies lost in 2020 and room rates are at an all time high. Unfortunately I don’t believe the customer satisfaction has stayed on par with pre COVID era. To make matters worse, finding consistent staffing is impossible. Why work when the Govt pays me more to stay home? And you want how much to be a front desk agent? Nonetheless….
This hotel while seemingly higher tier needs some general upkeep. Rooms need attention to detail and are generally dirty. Don’t bring a black light with you or you will surely check in and check right out. Sadly that will be the case for most hotels, in this day and age. I know, it doesn’t make sense in a covid post pandemic time.
The Staff was okay and accommodating but with a slight air of rude and self righteousness.
The common areas seem newer and modern but again lacking the attention to detail.
The neighborhood is pretty nice. while like most of DC you’ll find some questionable people wandering the area later In the day, it does feel generally safe.
Parking? well, it’s DC space is at a premium. you’re going to pay through the nose.
So all in all I give it a 2 of 5. Hotel needs upkeep.
