Great stay at the Embassy Suites Convention Center. The location is convenient to many restaurants, shops, Convention Center and the metro. It is walkable to many museums and sites (depending on your tolerance for walking- around 15 mins to the White House, etc). Our room was big enough to accommodate 5 of us. We had a nice view looking over New York Ave. If you can choose a room, definitely avoid the even numbered rooms bc they will look exactly at a brick building next door. Rooms look recently refurbished. Nice furniture and comfortable beds. Our room had a nice size walk-in shower. Breakfast each morning was well done. Plenty of choices so even after staying 5 nights, we didn't get sick of it. Good coffee. The evening Happy Hour was a nice perk. 2 drinks per adult (kids/nondrinkers can have as many Shirley Temples and sodas as they want). The appetizers were a little limited, such as hummus and chips, sometimes cheese, but it was good enough to take the edge off before dinner. The hotel is kept very clean. I noticed if someone set dirty plates or glasses outside of their room they were picked up quickly. The hotel was full during our visit but there was never a wait for the elevators like there is at many hotels. Parking rate is steep, about $60 per night so keep checking before you go for the park and stay rate that will include parking. Looked to be a decent gym and indoor swimming pool although we did not use either one. I would definitely consider staying here again if we are back in DC in the future.

I brought my grandson (Age 9) to Washington DC for Fall Break. I wanted a hotel which was convenient to the White House and National Mall and I certainly found that with Embassy Suites Convention Center. In addition to convenience, the hotel is spotless (newly refurbished) and has an incredible FREE breakfast. There is also an indoor pool. Our suite was perfect with a living area and a separate bedroom. Lots of room for my grandson to watch TV or play. His favorite part was breakfast. He ordered his own made-to-order omelet and then made his own plate with everything else - fruit, cereal, orange juice, yogurt, muffins. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Elvis at the front desk welcomed us when we arrived and did a pre-check in and sent a text when our room was ready. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a free reception with snacks and there was also an evening restaurant menu with a kid's menu. My grandson wanted to eat at the hotel every day so we never left after we returned from sight-seeing. I wish I could rate with more than 5 Stars.

Dear bag1234, Thank you! It was an absolute joy to receive your review. Our staff works hard to deliver outstanding service. It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your visit and that you were impressed with our impeccable hotel. Enjoying the charm of our newly remodeled hotel and spacious guest suites, and being so close to the Washington DC museums, monuments, and shopping, certainly makes our location enviable. Our offering is so wide and varied, from the indoor pool to the many culinary treats to be had at Brickstones Kitchen & Bar, to our complimentary breakfast, a guest favorite. I am absolutely delighted to see that Elvis was able to make your stay a memorable one, going above and beyond to ensure your experience was spectacular. Your mention of the warm, welcoming, and attentive service delivered by our team members was met with great appreciation and is reflective of the culture our leadership team upholds. Warm regards, David Kasprzyk, General Manager

Nice clean modern decor. Most staff were nice. One front desk clerk was not over the 4 days we stayed. Calling a 1-800 number twice ended up being registered as "out of state" and we were billed $20 X 2 = $40 for these two toll free calls. We didn't use the phone otherwise but beware of exorbitant phone bills. There is no phone use pricing in the room. The indoor pool is a bit of a joke (tiny) and probably should not be a consideration when deciding which hotel to stay at. We didn't even bother bringing our kids to the pool after seeing it. There was no way to give an electronic tip to the cleaning staff or valet which would have been much more convenient. Parking included EV charging which was great.

On arrival I was like omg this is a nice hotel. Then I got to my room. Outside my door was a room service tray or maybe the previous person brought breakfast up from the restaurant idk. But the French toast sat on the plate for two days outside my room.
Walked inside and there was hair all over the room. I'm black and I don't wear weaves/extensions so it definitely was not my hair.
Woke up one morning to a puddle of water on the floor. Turns out the fridge started defrosting in the middle of the night. The maintenance guy was such a sweetheart when he came he said "let me get some towels because it's very slippery and I don't want you to fall" little did he know I already had because how was I supposed to know there was water on the floor when I got up to use the bathroom.
The rooms are incredibly freezing. I turned off the ac and my room was still freezing 2 days later. There is also a big mosquito problem many in my party actually contracted Dengue which is wild to me.
I also think it's weird that you don't offer robes or slippers in your room. You're a Hilton Hotel it's not very demure or mindful of you to not offer these things. It's just standard.
The pros about this hotel are that it is in an amazing touristy location, the breakfast staff are amazing and the selection is pretty great also the gym is phenomenal.

Bottom Line: Comparing this hotel to others in the area at similar or lower price points, I would not recommend this one. It does not excel in really any category if you're going to a convention. Don't show up early for check in unless you want to be charged, don't expect much from free breakfast.
The problems started at check-in, showing up at about 1:30pm on a busy weekend, I was told showing up a few hours early would result in a $25 early check-in fee. I've never been charged for early check-in in my life (including at Hilton locations), let alone at any of the nearby hotels in past years. You'd think on very busy weekends they'd want to incentivize getting people into rooms as they come rather than all showing up at the same time, it just felt very nickel-and-dimey. If you are going to go here, don't plan on showing up to check in before 4 I guess.
I requested a tub and didn't get one, it's a relatively small thing but I knew they had tubs from the pictures but how many and the chances of getting one even if you ask? Hard to say.
The free breakfast is only slightly better than most breakfast buffets, but it is free without a lot of hassle. The "made to order" part is just eggs or omelettes so if you're really into those every morning it might not be so bad. The rest is pretty standard buffet fare. If you actually want a freshly made waffle or something you have to go elsewhere.
The rooms are what you'd expect from a suite- decently large with a large couch and separate TV for the sitting area. The extra size is really the only thing that makes it a suite though, as you can see from the photos there is nothing to cook with and the fridge is a mini-fridge. Overall, a standard hotel room with standard amenities, but larger. There is also windows (with closable curtains) looking out into the hallway, which means people can also potentially look into your hotel room from the hallway. I'm not sure who this appeals to, but it made me feel just a bit more on edge even if you can shut the curtains up tight.
The staff also reached out by text message and gave me a chance to at least relay some of my concerns/disappointment, but after doing so they did not respond or try to reach back out to me. Just an extra disappointment to ask about problems and never respond, even if there was realistically nothing they could do. Overall, not much recommends this hotel against nearby competition, everything considered.

We loved our stay!! Our king suite was beautiful and looked out at the lovely city. The evening reception was delightful. Show your room key card and receive two tickets for a cocktail from their kind and gracious bartender. Breakfast was wonderful, made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes or french toast, fruit, yogurts, cereals, muffins, pastries, juice, coffee, and soda. The staff kept the food area stocked and clean. Plenty of seating! Each room has a mini coffee pot, small fridge and microwave. The shower has pumps with the body wash, shampoo and conditioner and at the sink there is pumps for the hand soap and lotion. The only thing was that when we were choosing a hotel, we wanted a pool/jacuuzi for our sons to get to enjoy but when they went down and came back and told me the pool area was not open. Also, we were on the 14th floor and when I went to get ice, the machine was broken on our floor so had to go to the floor below and got on the elevator and so many using it I had to ride down then stop at several floors before getting back to my room with ice but these are minor inconveniences. I will stay here again, the location was great and we enjoyed the very spacious room.

My best experience in a hotel in the recent few years. This hotel offers all the features we need for a family vacation of four: separate bedrooms, fulfilling free breakfast, clean and modern interior, convenient but quiet location, and a pool. I read all the emails about the long lines to wait for breakfast, but it turned out to be not that bad (5min wait the most). The sofa bed has a sleeper and a pull-out bed that allows my two kids to sleep separately, which they love. We didn’t expect we will be utilizing the evening happy hour that much. Definitely a great way to recharge the kids after a long day. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Good: location - less than 15 minutes walk to the national mall
Bad: Disappointing breakfast - food itself was mediocre, and the lines.. you had to wait some 20 minutes in line just to get some food. It felt like some kind of a soup kitchen, almost humiliating. (And there are easy ways to improve - How come a huge hotel like that holds only a single small toaster at breakfast??)
Narrow beds - we booked a room for four people (2 adults and 2 kids), and got two narrow beds (only 130 cm, or 51 inches, wide).
Bad Wifi: there was no wifi inside the room - you had to go outside to the corridor to get some.
Climate: the temperature in the corridor was really high, it felt like sauna. (Inside the room it was fine).

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Embassy Suites. The check-in process was effortless and efficient, and I appreciated the complimentary bottles of water considering the hot weather. Nirina was a delight to work with, as she ensured that I was placed on a desirable floor with a view and provided me with helpful directions to the White House. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Divas Read too in DC (May 30th-2nd June) - was a girls' trip to celebrate LIFE! We were all very satisfied with our stay, and the staff was very welcoming. To expound, the cleanliness and spaciousness of the hotel suite, the friendliness of the staff, the convenient location, complimentary 2 cocktails per day during the evening reception, and the complimentary breakfast were exceptional. The location is in walking distance to a lot of good eateries, coffee shops, shopping, and attractions even though we use share ride to visit most of the monuments. The ladies said it was too hot to walk. I would rate it a 5 except for the fact that we were unable to use the pool facility because they had to closed it (unsure why). This was my second stay at this hotel and I noticed some renovation from my first stay which was nearly 7 years ago.
