The Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Navy Yard Riverfront garners appreciation for its modern design and spotless rooms, with a particular nod to the spacious and well-appointed accommodations. The staff's professionalism and helpfulness are frequently commended, adding to the positive atmosphere of the hotel.
Guests particularly enjoy the rooftop bar, though some have noted occasional noise disturbances. While the valet service is a hit, opinions on value are mixed, with some guests finding the valet parking costly. Overall, the hotel's clean and convenient amenities contribute to its appeal, despite some inconsistencies.

The place is welcoming, the staff is courteous, the room is magnificent, clean and the location is calm but close to the main attraction. We loved our stay and recommend the place if you like quiet places, but still enjoy the proximity of the city.

My husband and I are local to DC but decided to stay near National's Park as we were going to a couple games for Ryan Zimmerman's retirement weekend. This property is quite close to the ballpark so was ideal for us, location-wise. We were supposed to be able to check in by 3:00p on Friday but we arrived to find several guests waiting to do so because there was a delay with linen arrival and many rooms were not yet ready. We waited about 45 minutes and they helped to make up for the issue by giving us a voucher to use at one of the hotel's restaurants. We appreciated their effort to make up for the delay and had planned to have breakfast there the next morning anyway (which was excellent). The room was a nice size, though the view was not great (not the hotel's fault). However, the builder knew the hotel would be not far from a concrete plant so the fact that the windows were not of better sound-mitigating quality was a bit of an issue as you could hear the "beep beep beep" of the concrete trucks backing up at 7:00a on a Saturday. The water pressure was just OK (you can adjust the shower head but it doesn't necessarily increase the water pressure) and there was plenty of hot water. They offer in-shower toiletries. However, they do NOT offer washcloths which is strange given that body wash is one the of items in the shower rather than bar soap but body wash is difficult to use without a washcloth. As others have noted, there are no dressers in the room, only a small closet. This was not an issue for us since we were just staying for two nights but it could be an issue for others. The Kuerig coffee machine in our room did not work. While we did not hear anything from our neighbors in the adjacent rooms (and I do believe the hotel was sold out when we were there), we did hear people through the door in the hallway. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. We also liked the lighting options. The cover to the sensor where the key unlocks the door kept falling off. I like that there is a digital clock on the mirror in the bathroom. I also wish more hotels would include a makeup mirror. The lighting in the bathroom was not great for applying makeup. There was also a Bluetooth symbol on the mirror in the bathroom but we did not try connecting anything to it.
Breakfast was great as was the service. We also enjoyed drinks at the main level restaurant on Saturday afternoon in the area that spills out to a patio area in the front part of the hotel.
If half circles could be given, my husband and I would rate this hotel 3.5. We decided to round up to 4 circles because we had great interactions with staff, which is an important element of travel. While I didn't find our stay to be a great value, it wasn't necessarily very overpriced for its location. We did not utilize valet parking nor did we go to the rooftop bar though it looked popular. Depending on the value vs. other hotels in the area, we may or may not stay here again, though that is also because we don't stay in DC often being local.

We arrived at the hotel at almost 2am, upon arrival Jacob who was the night shift associate was super amazing with all his detail oriented explanations concerning all our charges, fees and taxi services for the next morning to our appointment. Jacob made our stay very friendly and at home feeling...he knew his job duties very well and is a very detail oriented individual.
Our fridge did not work when we arrived and Jacob came upstairs to make sure everything was plugged in and also offered to switch room but since it was too late we requested him the following morning and he also said will put in an order for maintenance. Our stay was very comfortable and all the staff was pretty friendly.
It was overall a pleasant stay.

The location is on the south side of Washington DC and so slightly out compared to Downtown, however the location itself is lovely and there is ongoing construction work which will make the area even nicer. Located near the sporting venues and there is a real hustle and bustle of eateries in the area.
The hotel is modern and rooms are nice, modern and clean.
Only improvement is that there should be complimentary bottled water made available in the rooms, rather than to be purchased downstairs in the hotel lobby.

Very nice hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. It faces a building under construction and that was our view from the room. Website says valet parking is $43; it’s $50. We are Choice members and asked for a bottle of water to take to the baseball game. They said they had no ‘regular’ water and gave us a large bottled water that they charged to the room: $8.80. We paid for a pet friendly room that promised a bed and water bowls. They were not there. We wanted to go up on the rooftop and to the restaurant there, but there was a private event, so we could not go up. The walk to the Nationals stadium was short and easy. We felt safe there. Website says there’s grab and go breakfast: nope. You can eat in the restaurant for a charge. Mixed feelings. If they’d been upfront about the event, the rooftop, the valet charge, and the incorrect breakfast listing I’d have rated higher.

The 1st review on Trip Advisor is the hardest to take, depending on who you are and what your job entails. First and foremost, I want to say Thank you to the entire staff at this hotel for making our 5 year anniversary a blessed one. We decided to bring our youngest pup Bella with us and she was greeted by the front desk staff Joyce with treats, a huge bed, water and food bowls. :) Bella enjoyed every minute of it especially the sleeping part.
We didn't really explore the city except for one day. When we went to see the Cherry Blossoms near the Tidal Basin. Alot of people out seeing the blossoms in full view so it was a great Saturday. We decided to extend on more night. Which was awesome. Now comes the hard part of my review.... the negative.....
Please don't worry I'm not going to be critical like my professors from college would.... however when you report an issue such as the air conditioning not working please don't take 3 days, after all its still a new hotel and kinks are being worked out. Its okay we got a suite upgrade. Thank you! :)
Saturday night was un-eventful around 10:30 pm to 3:00 am loud noises coming across from our room. Several attempts to get them calm down worked, guess they were not registered guests and it keep us up all night. So not good.
The food delivery service was weird as why DoorDash and Dominos could NOT deliver to our room. It was hotel policy. Look after driving on the road for five hours plus and checking in late, my feet were on fire. So I needed to relax and not go down the hall and down to the lobby to retrieve food so I asked front desk if they would bring it up which they did. Did I mention the staff was AWESOME!
4 out of 5 stars is not bad! Like I said there are kinks that need to be worked out. Other than that we will return. :) Oh and FYI they provided Champaign and Wine for us too. Well we paid for it but the wife loved it.

During the recent months the Cambria has become one of our favorite places to stay for a number of reasons. In particular, I absolutely love the customer service of the front desk staff, there attentiveness and willingness to make sure that my family and I are accommodated in every single aspect of our stay. Every person and every department provided outstanding service, and a very safe and entertaining environment. The valet was outside and readerly available, the dinning staff was very knowledgeable in the details of the menu and the options that were available especially Kat who was absolutely amazing while providing services for myself and my large family group, the housekeeping staff provided as always, a very clean and comfortable living space, ALL and I mean ALL of which that has mentioned above is because of Sam and his impeccable leadership. Sam is a consistent and valuable presences during not only our numerous stays from the front desk to the room accommodations, but in making sure that our personalized events were accurate in every single detail and with no worries. In reading this review, please make sure to recognize Sam on his outstanding leadership in making sure that the Cambria hotel upholds the standards of high-quality hospitality, with Sam I know that we will always have an over-the-top experience. We are newly engaged and have already considered the Cambria as a location for our dream wedding!

I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay (5/3-5/5), and enjoyed the property, and rooftop restaurant space. It wasn't the physical amenities most worth noting....but rather all the staff I encountered. Especially Front Desk Agents Joyce and Nelsa. They both went above and beyond the call of duty when I realized I left an item of value in the room after I had checked out, and returned to Ohio. They were attentive to communication, understanding, and were able to find the item even after the room had been cleaned (it was hidden), and booked again. I am most grateful for my experience at the hotel, and for their professionalism and kindness. I look forward to returning for another stay.

This hotel is in a great location as it’s super close to the Nats stadium and a short walk from the Metro. The hotel is pretty new and the decor is very modern. Parking is by valet only and it took them over an hour to get our car when we left. The valet claims they’re an outside company and optional but I don’t know where else you’d park as there isn’t a parking garage nearby. When we arrived at 1 am the desk clerk quickly got us our key—-for the wrong room. Our key didn’t work and my poor husband had to go down to the lobby 4 times before the clerk came up and found the room was occupied! The room decor was nice. I might stay in this hotel again because of the location but it definitely had the feel they were struggling.

If you are planning a trip to DC this fall, you'll want to consider the Cambria Hotel Washington D.C. Capitol Riverfront next to National's Park, home of the 2019 World Series Champions. The accommodations were great, the breakfast was very good, and the staff was welcoming, attentive (extra attention given to children), and very helpful. Nick at the front desk and Yanni in the restaurant were exceptional and made the visit enjoyable and memorable. The location is great, next to the up and coming Navy Yards neighborhood where there is a great selection of restaurants and bars and a rocking nightlife. Great experience and highly recommend.
