I recently stayed at the Canopy Hotel, Embassy Row and can't say enough great things. From the moment you arrive, every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing stay. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Cleanliness is always a big factor for me when staying at hotels, this hotel is extremely clean and very well appointed. I would highly recommend you stay at this hotel, it is certainly my new "go to hotel" in the DC area.

Three of us stayed here the nights of July 17 and 18, 2021.

First the pros. Hotel lobby and rooms are of an expansive European design. Our premium accessible room m had a king bed alongside a queen bed with a jig sliding door to separate it from the entry room, washing/vanity area, coat room and bathroom, a very nice touch. Vanity and bedroom headboards have beautiful indirect background lighting and shower has hand-held stick and rainfall type heads.

The Super Franc restaurant had just reopened for two days post pandemic. The staff are not only prompt, courteous and eager to please (ask for Ebony) but served very fine food at reasonable prices. We had two breakfast and one lunch meal there, all very imaginative snd well done, even fresh fruit salad, not canned, entrees mostly used $15.

The hotel is conveniently situated between the lively DuPont Circle and 14th Street retail and entertainment districts.

Now the cons. There is no 24 hour mini-market in the hotel for last minute drinks or snacks common at other properties. Also, while daily housekeeping is advertised. front desk agent said that this is not offered at and only once for guests staying four days. However, after me bugging them for extra towels, toilet paper, soap and cups. the next day. to our great surprise, the room had been made up perfectly! Many hotels have this issue post-pandemic, with staff shortages, but they need to message their housekeeping policy better or offer
guaranteed daily housekeeping even at an extra fee.

Nevertheless we were happy with this hotel and will stay again. The staff were very polite and eager to please

Wonderful boutique hotel within walking distance of the sights and numerous restaurants. Easy walk to the National Mall and DuPont circle. The rooms are spotless, spacious and well thought out to accommodate an extended stay with a family of 4-luggage storage, refrigerator drawer, coffee etc. The location is very quiet and has a quaint neighborhood feel. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and helpful. We tried the restaurant for breakfast and while it was good we weren’t overly impressed considering there are so many other options nearby. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family!

There is no microwave in any of the rooms. If you can track down a willing employee, they will take your food to their employee break room and shear it up for you. You might have to have them do it a few times to get everything warm, but it will get done...eventually.

There was a fridge (in a drawer) but you could hardly tell it was colder than the room inside and nothing inside felt like it had been sitting inside a fridge all night.

The breakfast is $19 for fruits, yogurt, beagles/pastries, and sometime some cold smoked salmon. No hot foods ever and hardly any protein.

The restaurant has fancy foods that are made from local ingredients, but nothing normal. Everything has some weird twist to it like you are eating somewhere really fancy.

If you are a tea drinker, they had two black teas and a chamomile. No plain green tea, no decaf tea. So be sure to bring your own if you want some.

Housekeeping didn’t actually clean the room, they just straightened it. Something was in the bottom of the class by my bed, and when housekeeping was done that same glass was sitting back on the clean shelf next to the others. The floor was not swept or vacuumed while I was there. The room appeared clean when I got there, but cleaning appears to be something they only do to prepare for new guests. They also might only be getting to you room to straighten it by 5pm, so you might expect to see them when you get back home in the evening.

I had a wake up call set for every day in my 2 week stay, but after the first week it got turned off and I had to get them to reset it.

The WiFi worked, but it randomly kicked me out once and wouldn’t let me back in for 30min. Another time I got on my computer and it had disconnected and I had to restart my computer to get it to connect again. I thought it was just my computer but my coworkers had similar problems.

This was advertised as a 4 star hotel on Hotels.com. It was NOT. I have stayed in 7 other hotels during Covid and the cleaning standards here were not up to par. There were handprints all over the bathroom door handles, lipstick marks on the mirror, etc. We went downstairs for a snack and a glass of wine only to find out there was no liquor license. I thought we would have food options in case nearby spots closed early because online it says that the restaurant closes at 11pm. Then I found out it closed at 7pm. We were given 1 single washcloth in the room (there were 2 of us on the reservation) and there were no others available when we asked so the front desk gave us 1 hand towel to use instead. Also, 1 single bar of soap (during a pandemic). The water bottle in the room was not clean. We were given a room right by the elevator across from guests with children so there was a great deal of noise throughout the day (doors slamming, kids yelling, etc). The coffee cups provided in the room didn't even fit in the machine. I have had better experience at a 2 star hotel and I am upset that this is the standard of Canopy by Hilton considering the price of the room. The only reason it's rated it a 2 and not a 1 is because we were at least given a late check out of 1pm, which was needed due to being constantly woken up by all the noise in the hallway. Although, the maid still tried to get into the room while we were trying to get a bit of extra sleep and had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. The employees were all very nice and did the best they could but they were obviously not given the resources to do anything properly. Lastly, I will say it's a good location - but there are other hotels surrounding this place that are better.

Stayed one night on business. I like the area. Many nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. I used to stay here when it was a Marriott. And not a good Marriott. But this renovation is beautiful. Rooms much improved. Much more environmentally friendly as well. Plenty of space in my queen bed room. A sofa and a big bench. Long desk. Big TV. Outlets and USB plugs in multiple places including by the bed. Comfy bed. Softer than average towels for a hotel. Spacious sink area and shower. Toilet and shower in separate room. Plenty of hangar space in open closet. Made for shorter stays. If you have a week of clothes it won’t fit. Glass bottle to fill from the hallway water dispenser so no wasting plastic. Small Fridge in a drawer. No in room safe. I didn’t need parking or eat there so cannot comment. But the complimentary coffee in the morning was good.

Wonderful stay while I was in town for a busy couple of days for work. Renovations I read about in previous reviews must have been just finished and the hotel was beautiful. The room was fresh and modern and comfortable. I love a hotel room that isn’t the same old, same old long skinny layout. A hanging sliding door let me close off the large bedroom from the bathroom and hallway. I had the cheapest kind of room and it was very roomy and comfy. Delightful. High bathroom sink counter was convenient. Handheld steamer worked great. Really quiet from street noise. Only had a drink and dessert in the bar/restaurant but loved loved loved the dessert - kulfi - joked with the chef when I got caught practically licking the bowl.

Chique, modern hotel with a good location for exploring D.C.

The room was was spotlessly clean, fresh and modern. The room had complimentary Nespresso machine/coffee, and I particularly appreciated that unlimited filtered water was available from the lobby using the refillable glass bottle in the room.

The hotel was well located, with plenty of restaurants nearby. Within walking distance of a number of tourist attractions and Metro station close by.

The breakfast menu was reasonably priced and the quality and taste of the food was good.

Location: Short walk to White House but if you are looking to walk out the door for a quick bite or bar this is not your hotel. 12 minute walk to the closest Metro, 15 minutes to Dupont Circle and 15 minutes to White House. With the rain every night we had to get Ubers to go anywhere. This Hotel is 100% surrounded by Commercial buildings

Hotel Room: Very very nice room. This Canopy (like other Canopies I have stayed at) provides a unique small Hotel experience yet maintaining the Hilton Quality. Beds are comfortable and room was very spacious. The in-room Nespresso (Canopy standard) is and will be a great feature along with filtered water and ice on every floor and in lobby.

On-Site Food/Bar: Not worth the money. I know DC is a "Higher" priced city but the $15.00 Egg/Bacon sandwich is not worth it, along with the $6.00 hashbrown that looked like a McDonalds Hashbrown. Walk the 10 minutes to Starbucks and get the same sandwich (better) for $5.00. The fired items all tasted the same (like the oil was never changed). Avocado toast had no flavor. Had Drinks at the bar one night and while the Bartender maid a very nice Espresso Martini, the price I paid was high and she had to look up in a book how to make it. This was not a happening lobby bar either. Individuals there were stuck most likely due to weather.

Staff was pleasant but seem to not fully know job. Arrived at midnight due to late flight and could not get in hotel due to Door being locked. Had to knock on Door and wait for someone to come. Staff did not inform me that they were still doing "Notify us to clean room" so I missed out on getting room cleaned the first night. This should be a standard "do you want your room cleaned". Not big on welcoming guests overall and the night manager kept wrapping himself in a bath towel every time I saw him. Very Weird.

Don't get me wrong I would stay here again but I know now what to expect and will factor in travel time to restaurants for quick bites to eat. but compared to like BOSTON Canopy. No comparison

This hotel was hard to find for me as it was in the center of everything and I don’t really travel to D.C. much. If you want the heart of D.C., then this is the hotel for you. The staff was welcoming and the room and modern theme especially eco friendly environment, was top tier. I personally don’t like valet parking, as I came late at night for check in. I was there earlier but the person said there were no rooms ready and check in is typically at 3pm, and I had things to do. So night check in, coupled with darkness, I wasn’t about to find a garage to self park. Parking at the hotel cost 60USD, other garages 12-25USD, so take your pick. One more thing, the room was to die for clean, perfect and spacious. The pillows 👀 soft, plushie like bounce💖.
