The staff was excellent, they were very attentive to our questions, the hotel was clean, and conveniently located. The only negative was we did have trouble connecting to the Wi-fi. The breakfast was a perfect way to start the day.
A nice hotel with a great location in the Wharf area with plenty of fine restaurants nearby. Close to the Tidal Basin, walk able to cherry blossoms and National Mall. A little loud in the evenings because of the nearby bars, but a trade off to be near the nightlife.
We stayed in a one-bedroom suite for a week. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for making quick meals (the pot and strainer were a nice touch), the fridge was the typical small under-counter size and met our needs, and our 12-year-old made no complaints on the comfort level of the pull-out couch. The Wharf area is a great place to stay, with tons of restaurants and a quick walk to two difference Metro stations. A Safeway grocery store was only a 10-minute walk away. The only complaint was from the noise level from the music venue downstairs. If you are sensitive to sound at night, I'd recommend requesting a high floor. We stayed on the 6th floor and it was fairly loud on weekend nights. We could even hear the crowd cheering after songs. However, a whilte noise machine was able to drown out most of the sound. …
I paid for a river view, and over $140 dollars in parking. I got a slim sliver of a view which to benefit I have to stand in the corner of my room to see a better view or sit in only ONE spot on the sofa to see the River. I asked 3 times for a better option. I only got one response by the front desk which was cold. I traveled from a different state, spent good money, please be honest with people before they check in or at least work with them to get what they expected. Definitely dont ignore them, unless the hotel just doesnt care...eventually it'll catch up with less business. Only good part was the breakfast area, one server was very nice, and the food good.
This was one of the worst hyatt properties I have ever been to. The check in was not helpful or welcoming. Staff was uncourteous. HVAC system was not working in room. Even after getting a maintenance person come and fix it, it was Terrible in room. Breakfast was almost all put away way before the closing time. Staff was not helpful or welcoming. Terrible experience. Will not stay here again. Parking was expensive and they do not validate either.
In short - liked the hotel very much, the area (DC Wharf) is delightful, but my post-stay experience was absolutely terrible. I was told I would receive my folio via email - when I didn't, over the 3 days after I checked out, I called the hotel 3 times to have it emailed to me; each time I was assured that it was on it's way. This morning, I tried calling the hotel 8 times - no, I am not exaggerating - and I either got the "we are transferring you to the hotel host" auto-answer and then a hang-up, or, put on hold for up to 5 minutes, and THEN a hang-up. I finally called Hyatt customer service, and after they contacted the hotel, they came back and said "The hotel didn't have your complete email address." Never mind that I gave it to them EACH time I called and tried to get my folio, AND it is in my profile. So, this is 3 stars not because the hotel is bad, but I have been trying to wash this bad taste out of my mouth through this experience, and what would have been a 4-5 star review had to be knocked down to a 3.…
If you don't mind stuffy rooms and messy breakfasts this hotel is perfect for you. The location is great, and you can walk a couple miles to and from most tourist attractions in DC or take the free shuttle right from the corner of the hotel to the National Mall. The Wharf, where the property is located has a lot of cool restaurants, cafes and bars worth trying. The accommodations let something to be desired, as the rooms were pretty small (we stayed in a King Studio) and not in the very best conditions. Our bathroom door wouldn't close properly, for example. The breakfast, well, it's free food, but really messy and when in peak time, around 9am, had no places do sit. Overall it's worth for the location and convenience.
We really enjoyed our time at the Hyatt House. It was very clean and the kitchenette was great to have for our trip. Having a hot breakfast included is great too. I should have read more carefully when I booked as I didn't realize the pool isn't open until June, but that's on me.
Family-friendly hotel. The staff and location are perfect. The boardwalk mini arcade was excellent for my seven-year-old son. It also had a full-service bar with pretty good drinks. My only complaint is the breakfast was not good. One of the reasons why we stayed at this hotel was for the breakfast but it was edible. We had to venture out daily for breakfast.
Perfect location right on the water. No frills hotel but clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Booked the king suite with a kitchenette - which was fully equipped. Fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, plates, utensils, and even a toaster, cheese grater and strainer! This hotel gives Airbnb a run for their money. Tons of restaurants steps away, recreational pier right out front, easy water taxi access, and cute s’mores truck and outdoor fire pit. Several live music venues right below the hotel (but you can’t hear them from the hotel - which is a plus). Great view of East Potomac Park and a huge deck where you can relax and take in the views of the boats and the river. Comfortable beds, large shower. No complaints. Everything was great! Book a room on the 9th floor for the best views.…
