My first visit to this hotel was in May 2018. The photos are from the rooftop bar taken back then. I travel for work and use this hotel every time I am in DC. I have stayed here no less than 6 times in 5 years.

The ease of hopping on the Metro or walking to restaurants, sports arena, museums, or shopping the various stores is another reason I stay here.

I have never been disappointed with the food. No matter if you eat on the roof, the main floor, or in the Whisky Bar. Lamek was my bartender several times during my stay and he did not disappoint. Always a smile even when it was very busy and literally running back and forth to accommodate everyone.

When entering the hotel the staff is always very professional and attentive. Thank you Ollie (mgr.), Tru A., Marco S. (who made the best coffee at 5am, I really needed it), Ryan, and others that were always wonderful.

Thanks Motto!!

I loved this hotel so much and am so glad Hilton converted it into a MOTTO, keeping the overall new hardware/construction of the former Pod hotel while not losing the people that work there and their commitment to great friendly service.

Rooms are small ala Pod and thoughtfully designed with everything working. Being a relatively brand new build, all furnishings, window seals etc are in great condition and sparkly new. There were not many people there given DC was going into lockdown mode before the inauguration but the rooms seems really quiet either from hallway noise or rooms next door. Having a smart connected TV with netflix etc was also great. I do wish there was a coffee maker in the room but I understand that isn't what those Hilton is targeting with MOTTO are looking for:-)

I agree with all the previous comments about front desk staff being super responsive and friendly. This extends to others working there also. I had an issue with my tv and maintenance was there within 5 minutes. Restaurant/breakfast is limited due to covid restrictions but would be a great place to hang out when fully operational.

Location is great. People are great. Rooms are great. If you don't mind smaller rooms, this is a great choice.

In a scene from one of my favorite movies, "Alien," they showed what was presumably an astronaut on a spaceship waking up from a long travel time. She was in a pod which opened up like a clam. That's more or less the feeling I had when I spent the night in a room at The Pod Hotel in Washington, DC. My room was modern and clean with just enough room to walk around the fullsize bed. Once I emptied my overnight bag on the comfortable bed, it needed to go under the bed. One large sliding door would open and close access to the bathroom. One large window helped to open up the room a bit with busy city traffic below. I was thoughtfully provided with ear plugs by my bedside to help reduce the city noise. Fortunately, I wear hearing aids, so taking them off did the trick for me. The room was perfect for me traveling solo, so I gave it 5 stars, but if I had brought my wife with me, she would not have been happy. She's NOT a light packer. Friendly staff, good security and a very good coffee shop on the main floor made my experience great. I would go here again particularly also because the hotel is almost literally across a metro station and the reason for my trip was only 1/2 block away.

Thureau, Thank you for the 5 star review! I love that you have compared Pod to one of your favorite movies - we'll accept that as a compliment! Thank you for perfectly highlighting the unique Pod experience. It's important for us to provide value to our guests by offering clean and modern rooms, a central location, and a friendly team. It's great to hear each of these contributed to a positive experience. As a fellow coffee lover, it can certainly make or break an experience, so I'm glad it wasn't the latter! Thank you so much for staying with us - we hope to welcome you back! Warm regards, Samantha Miller Guest Relations Manager

I stayed here in April 2021. I was impressed with the service and how clean the room was. Check out my YouTube channel Passengers United to see my room tour on video. The hotel staff was very helpful. My stay was great. Alissa, Geraldine, Tas, Raquel, Shaion, and Jenni were all helpful. They made my stay wonderful.” On June 9 I will be staying here again and plan to come back whenever I can. One side note the room is small so check on Hilton honors website if you need a room with two beds. The WiFi worked well as did the air conditioning. There is a coffee shop downstairs and a restaurant on the roof if you need to buy food. The shower gels smell really nice and the room has a clock, sleep machine, bed lights above to read at night and a small table. The design of the shower and toilet is nice in a small space. Hilton makes sure to put a sticker on the door saying the room has been cleaned and sanitized so when you first arrive you see it. If you need ice you can ask downstairs and if you need your bags checked after check out they will store it for you so you can finish your sightseeing of Washington. The metro station is downstairs connecting to two lines plus there is a Walgreens downstairs. There are several nice Chinese restaurants next to the hotel in Chinatown. Overall a great experience on a budget under a $100 dollars

We stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel is in an ideal location for sightseeing, easy walking distance to the Capitol Building, White House, Smithsonian galleries etc.

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The woman serving at the Crimson Cafe was miserable, we felt like we were an inconvenience (the only downside to our visit). We used our Hilton Honors Gold food and beverage allowance there, in the restaurant and in the rooftop bar, which has super sunset views. The allowance is emailed as a QR code which is scanned when you pay your bill in the restaurant, bar or cafe. The restaurant is only open for breakfast at weekends which was a bit disappointing as we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast the first morning.

The double room we had was very small, there is room under the bed for suitcases. The sliding glass shower room door, which isn’t a close fit, means you need to be comfortable using the bathroom with your partner/room mate in close proximity (you can hear everything), however, it suited us fine. Housekeeping is optional so we opted not to have our room made up while we were there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at the hotel from 22 December till 29 December, and really enjoyed my visit and hospitality of the personnel. The room though small was very cozy. When I checked in, the receptionist was kind enough to ask me which view I want, thus they gave me the view that satisfied my needs. Overall staying was very comfortable, and safe, cleaning was done upon the request. The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the bars and nice places to eat, also close to the main touristic attractions. I believe it is a good choice for a single traveller or a couple, the price of the hotel judging the size of the room and the location is very comfortable. The personnel was very nice, when I checked out super early in the morning, and made sure that the taxi driver knows that I need to be at Union station to catch Amtrack in time.

The hotel is spotless, conveniently located in Chinatown across from a Metro station
Room is very compact but has many innovations to maximize the use of the space. Would not recommend trying to accomodate more than 2 persons in the room.
Hotel front desk staff were exceptionally ftiendly and helpful. Parking was a little difficult to arrange-had to be reserved online ahead of time. If you dont need the in and out feature you might find cheaper parking nearby.
Would definitely stay here again. Only thing keeping it from being perfect was lack of in room coffee. Had to go to lobby to buy coffee and did not open early. Onsite dining was not available due to Covid restrictions. But there is plenty of good dining nearby. There is also a Walgreens right across tbe street.

I stayed here for 2 nights on a solo trip for graduation and attending a music festival. The location is perfect because the metro is literally across the street from the hotel which is convenient for airport travelers especially since parking is so expensive and limited in DC.

There’s a really nice bar called the Crimson at the bottom of the hotel too. They had a cover band playing live music, good drinks and some attractive people there too!

The room is small and minimalist very ideal for solo travelers. I stayed on the 11th floor so the view was amazing. It was a hospitable sight seeing my name on the TV. It’s a smartv too so I could watch Netflix or stream live tv. Only thing missing was a microwave and plastic ware in the living room. I also like the digital key feature the Motto by Hilton offers to unlock the door to my room and the elevator.

Helen at the front desk was so hospitable as well. She checked in with me everyday to ensure I had a pleasant stay through an optional text message feature so that was really nice. I’d certainly stay here again during my next visit to DC!

I’ve stayed here twice and it has always been an excellent experience. The rooms are always clean and the perfect size- since most people travel to DC to be outside their hotel room the compact rooms are ideal. They are small but still offer plenty of room for one or two people. The white noise machine is an added bonus. I don’t find the street noise to be bad at all but it was a nice bonus. The staff are super friendly and the hotel feels very safe and secure, the neighborhood is dynamic with lots of restaurants within walking distance and a short 15 walk to the National Mall. You are across the street from the Metro (Red and Yellow Lines - Gallery Place) I’ve traveled here alone for business and when I brought a tour group from my school (of 20 teenagers) the price point, service, location, and accommodation can’t be beat.

The hotel is lovely, the staff friendly, the whiskey bar well stocked, comfortable, the water is nice and hot and the wifi is strong. However, we arrived on March 10th. There was a small, discrete bottle of hand sanitizer at the check in desk. I expected some sort of equally discrete but reassuring note or mention of the hotel's protocols during the Conovid-19 crisis, especially since just a day later, Washington DC declared a state of emergency there. Virginia followed on 3/12/2020. I know that it does no good to be alarmist but we would have felt a lot more comfortable if we'd been told about the measures that hotel was taking to ensure that high-touch surfaces were being disinfected etc. We went to other places (restaurants) that had put up discrete signage in the bathrooms, for example, on proper hand washing procedures or a note showing awareness and how they were dealing with it to ensure the confidence and safety of their guests. Having said all that, this really is the only issue I had with the Pod hotel. It really is quite charming, friendly staff, great location etc. Very comfortable and I love the mid-century retro style there. Quite sophisticated.

Although Pod does not have parking we partner with a local garage (around the corner from us). It's $25.95 per 24/hour period and information can be found on our website under the Info (FAQ's) section. To book, you would need to book in advance and use the link on our website.
