Valet stole items out of locked compartment in car! Used keys to unlock and relocked the compartment back up. Do not stay here!!! Hotel does not care and is aware that their Valets are thieves. Do not recommend.
My husband and I are from WA State, he is working for a company from our home town that is doing a major construction project right next door to this hotel so he has been staying here now for the last almost two months; we decided to have me come to visit for 8 days; I am so happy we stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton at Navy Yard...the entire staff is extremely welcoming, accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable about the area and what we should do on the trip etc, they made sure that we got top notch service no matter what time of the day it was...each and every time we walked in and out of the building we were greeted with a smile, "a hello, how are y'all doing, or how was your day and so on." Seriously not one time have we had a better experience staying at a hotel! The location is awesome, you are close to so much...The Nationals Baseball Stadium, several restaurants, bars, coffee places, a park and so much more, way to many other things to list. We rode the electric scooters back and forth to where The Capital, The White House, Shopping Centers, where we took a Tour of the whole city, other Restaurants etc and can't even begin to explain how fun it was to experience...especially at night when the views are breathtaking just an FYI. The housekeeping team is a highly experienced group that makes you feel extremely comfortable in making it feel like you can relax and enjoy your time here! We are very pleased with their santatizing practices as well, whether there is a Pandemic or not they really make the rooms very nice!!!! Everytime we saw one of them in the hallway they were quite friendly as well. Saving the best for last, Marietta, one of the managers at this location is probably the nicest ladies I have ever met, she has treated myself and my husband with the highest level of respect since day one of him and his crew arriving in Washington DC and quite literally goes above and beyond for each and every guest, I truly can't say enough good things about this amazing woman and her caring services. ❤ If you get a chance to stay here, DO IT! I promise you won't regret it!…
We stayed at the Navy Yards Homewood Suites while in town from Houston on a business trip. Our stay was great, but Greg at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need and that our trip was as the best possible. Thank you Greg for making our relatively stressful work trip easy and enjoyable.
Relatively new, clean, friendly and helpful staff, well laid out rooms, great free breakfast, quiet, good price, and excellent location. Within walking distance of the museums, the waterfront, and the Washington Capitals stadium, as well as many great restaurants and nightlife. The only drawback is that cellphone reception is poor. Thats surprising given the location. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars easy.
I've stayed at many Hilton properties, this was by far the worst. I had an early flight, and arrived at the hotel hoping to check in. Without looking the guy at the front desk said they had nothing, check back in 5 hours. I came back and the new desk attendant said they had nothing unless I paid for early check-in. I've never had a Hilton try to shake me down before. I wasn't alone there were 3-4 others waiting in the lounge for hours. When I finally got to my room, the lights and tv didn't work. Luckily the breaker box was unlocked, and I saw the tripped breaker and got it working. If you do decide to stay here, get a room far from the elevator. It sounded like a lawn mower running every few minutes. The good was location, if you need the metro it's across the street. The room was clean when I finally got in, they clean every 4 days. The people working the desk when I checked out were great, so 2 out of 5 I interacted with during my trip were pleasant. Breakfast was typical hotel, so okay. There are a bunch of other hotels nearby, I'll try one of them next time I go to dc.…
Our Connecticut Shock AAU girls volleyball team recently stayed at the Navy Yard Homewood Suites in DC. We had a successful tournament and a wonderful experience. Our stay at Homeweood suites was safe & secure with the great DC capitol Police often stopping in for coffee. I want to thank front desk personnel Devyn & Greg for thier expertise and knowledge, both are very professional employees. They were very helpful for all our needs, we will be back! Thanks Ken Kelly🇺🇲
Where do I begin? How about the moment I pulled up to the hotel. I was greeted by a valet worker who asked if I wanted valet parking. I asked him if there were any other parking options and was told "no". So, I asked if I could first go into the hotel and check-in and then I would return. Upon entering, I asked a front-desk worker what the parking options were and was told that valet was the only option. Fair enough, thought maybe that was the truth... While I was checking in, I informed them that I booked my room for my family of 4 through my Capital One credit card points and I showed them my reservation. I was given my room cards. Before I left was told that I needed to put a credit card on file for incidentals ($100.00) and then the front desk worker attempted to charge me nearly $300.00. I informed her that I already paid for my room and she tried to argue with me that the $300.00 charge was just for incidentals. For some reason, I had to convince her that she just told me the incidental charge was $100 but the screen in front of me was $297.00. I refused to give her my card until she changed it and requested a manager come over. Reluctantly, the manager changed the amount after I had to explain to him that I prepaid for my room. For some reason having a printed out copy of a reservation wasn't proof for them. Eventually, it was changed and we got our room key. Go up to our room and it turns out they gave us the incorrect room (King single bed suite). I go back down and inform they I booked a Double Queen room. I was told that because I booked through Capital One, I don't get a choice in which room I get (I know this is incorrect) and told them that's not true and that I wanted the room I paid for with my points. Reluctantly, after I stand up for myself, the manager agrees to change the room but said it would take about 20 minutes to get my room ready. My family and I wanted for nearly an hour until they gave us the our room. While we waited, another manager came over and said he was sorry and offered us snacks from their hotel store...that we would have to pay for while we wait. Thanks man Also, while we sat there waiting, each new customer who arrived asked what options they had for parking and they were all told that they can do valet or park on the street because its free on weekends. Not sure why we were lied to and argued with by staff and management as much as we were but it really felt like we were being given much different treatment than other customers. Will never be returning.…
Stayed here for a week on business and there were many perks: convenient to Metro (it's just across the street), plenty of food/grocery/drugstore options within a short walk, full kitchen in the room made it easy to keep leftovers and other groceries rather than eat out for every meal. The building itself seems new or newly renovated, with key-access elevators and lobby, plus modern rooms. I see other reviews mention the price and service... well, this is DC my friends. Better if you just adjust your expectations downward before arriving. Everything is going to be a little more expensive, rude, and inconvenient. That being said, I had no issues. Front desk and valet were all very helpful and accommodating. Some areas for improvement: I was not wowed by the cleanliness. I went to visit the pool on a Tuesday evening, bummed there was no hot tub but I get it. The pool itself was covered in a bubbly film. Not sure if it was over-treated and under-used, or the opposite, but I decided not to get in. In my room, I went to set up my laptops on the desk, and my sock felt wet... I looked down and it was the unmistakable feel and smell of Resolve. Along with an ominous stain. This hotel accepts pets and I have dogs so I get it... but... this was like 10pm? How much Resolve did they need that it was still wet 6 hrs after check-in? I tried not to think too much about it, and luckily the whole thing was under the desk so I didn't have to step over or around while it finished drying. I wondered if maybe housekeeping would return while I was out during the day, but it doesn't seem that my room was ever touched during my stay. I would have liked a notice on their housekeeping policy... again, I understand with Covid hotels have been all over the map with this... but it is nice to have a note in the room or a mention at check-in so I know if I need to save my towels or not. Despite these small complaints, I would definitely stay here again.…
I stayed here for a business trip the first 2 weeks of Feburary 2023. This isn't a good hotel for the amount of money you're spending (approximately$200/night). For one, the Wi-Fi doesn't work consistently in the entire building. It would constantly drop and then re-add your device to the network, thereby preventing you from accessing anything online. This is troubling for anyone who needs to do any business here. I couldn't even access my work email. I would not stay here for work. Also, the entire hallway on the 6th floor smelled like burnt electricity wires. The room itself (604) was nice, except for the dead bird that was on the rooftop of the building as you looked below (the same building as the Hilton itself). Also, when you schedule room cleaning for a specific time, they should come within a reasonable amount of time. We scheduled room cleaning at 8am and no one arrived for at least 2.5 hours later. The cleaning lady never did show up. It wouldn't matter much to me but we had a cat who's very skittish of new people and he very easily could have run away had we not been there for the cleaning and the cleaning lady propped the door open with her cart to clean. It could have been a dangerous situation. Overall, there are cheaper, better options in the area. Thompson Washington DC hotel is a great hotel that's close by and cheaper than the Homewood Suites by Hilton. And, as of 10 Feb 2023, Thompson Washington DC doesn't charge a pet fee …
Excellent location. Across street to metro station. Walking distance to restaurants and clubs. Trader Joe's is within walking distance too. If I feel like cooking a meal. I can! Breakfast is wonderful! Homemade muffins and waffles.
