Great old style Fremantle Port Style pub with a great range of beers and food, with the food being great value for money. Well worth a visit if you are in the Fremantle area. And if you decide it's not for you, plenty of other alternative close by.

Great old style pub with good standard pub food! Love their $20 parmy and pint on a Thursday night! Good blues/jazz band playing Thursdays but sooo loud you can’t enjoy your dinner and a chat with friends. They play at 6.30 which is too early when trying to eat and chat. Good happy hour prices too!

Stopped in here as we thought it might be an Art Deco place. Certainly gave that impression from the outside. An Aussie pub. Classic menu and reasonably priced. Helpful staff. Food was okay but did think arancini included in the nachos was odd. Not so busy at lunchtime but there was a football crowd there so a little noisy. Harmless fun. Loos a bit dated.

We had an evening meal with friends midweek. This old pub has recently been refurbished and is a pleasant change from the loud yubby and trendy bars popping up all over the area. Good choice of beers on tap and a decent wine list. The meal was your usual "pub grub" but done very well. The staff were very cheerful and pleasant. Well worth a visit if you are looking for someplace a bit traditional.

Ask what food your getting before ordering, buffalo wings, sticky soy &Chill wings, smoky BBQ wings and southern fried chicken winglets are all the same food just different Susie. Who would of know……. Chief lied when asked about it, barman had no idea. Besides that great music Thursday night let down by cold food unknowingly. Stick to steak and chips !!!

Great hotel. Staff was friendly and professional. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are recently upgraded and very clean. Hot water and shower pressure were excellent. The property is just outside the city center which is nice for noise, etc… everything you need and all the sights are easily within walking distance. The train station to go into Perth is only a five minute walk. The bar on the first floor is also great with daily specials and deals. Highly recommend:)

... that's the sign on the window of this hotel which has just re-opened after renovation but as outside redecoration has not yet been completed it would be so easy to pass by and miss a real gem. This was something of a sentimental journey for us, we stopped for the day in Fremantle 40 years ago on our way by sea to a new life in Sydney. The hotel is directly opposite Victoria Quay and this was our first experience of an Aussie pub. It was, to say the least, a bit rough and our children, myself and 2 female friends had to sit outside in the corridor - but how times have changed. Bar areas now are classy and comfortable and retain all best features of the old pub but this time I was allowed inside!

I’d followed the suggestion from the Fremantle Passenger Terminal website to drop off our luggage on the morning before we departed on our cruise on March 5, 2018. I’d emailed the Australia Hotel located across the street from the passenger terminal about 7-10 days prior to arriving, and received confirmation that they could store our bags for $5 each for the day. They confirmed by email the time we’d be dropping off the luggage and approximately when we’d pick it up the same day March 5th.
We checked out of our hotel in Perth that morning, took an Uber to the Australia Hotel, and found the doors locked and a sign on the door saying they were closed. Another (elderly) couple arrived at the same time and were also surprised to find the hotel doors locked.
This is absolutely absurd customer service, especially given that I’d specifically confirmed the day and time and received an email confirmation!
My recommendation is to avoid the Australia Hotel. Grossly incompetent and terrible for any semblance of customer service.
As it turned out, both we and the elderly couple were able to check our luggage on to the cruise ship earlier than expected and were welcomed warmly and efficiently by the staff at the passenger terminal. There was no problem to continue sightseeing for the remainder of our time in Fremantle before checking on board later that afternoon. All’s well that ends well I guess!

Walked into this place yesterday on seeing an OPEN sign in the window. It's been reopened for a week and the bar and beer garden look terrific. No food as yet (will be up and running sometime soon) but the accommodation is open and all rooms and facilities have been refurbished. It was great to see a classic Aussie pub making a comeback, and we will definitely be going back, and can't wait for the kitchen to be up and running

Been here a few times for a beer and watch AFL. Not friendly migrant staff or owners. Grand Final AFL and not open til midday. No food on offer. This has all the hallmarks of a dodgy money laundering operation type business. What a waste of an iconic Fremantle port old hotel. Dont bother with these uncaring time wasters. Needs a good old school Aussie running this joint. No wonder its quiet! It's never open and it's a pub! DODGY.
