I visit Freo almost monthly for work, but this was my first stay "downtown", as I usually prefer to have ocean views..however, it looks like this flat will be a regular for me!
Donna was very helpful ab initio, great communications..the flat was superbly furnished and equipped..a very thoughtful welcome tray had been prepared..layout was perfect for work and meetings, as well as a working lunch..there is a very useful study on the upper level..I was surprised to find two full bathrooms, which was an unexpected bonus as I was happy to have a bathroom to myself, with the other serving as a dedicated bathroom for guests
LOCATION!! Stunning!! Just a few minutes easy stroll to the markets, a few seconds away from the High Street/Cappuccino strip..
Only a couple of very mild criticisms: I travel with a lot of luggage, and it was a bit of a pain having to lug my bags up, and down, the narrow-ish staircase..the parking bay is ridiculously narrow and ill-positioned - it was sheer fluke that I had rented a small car on this particular trip..had it been my usual SUV, it would have been impossible to park

It was not clear when booking that Fremantle Archway Apartments are located in what appears to be residential block of apartments and our apartment was at the front of the building near the entrance gate to the complex. A neat, tidy, clean apartment with kitchen and all one could expect. Good bed, comfortable facilities and breakfast ingredients for on morning left in the fridge. We were given a code to access the key and gate control which are kept in a secure box at the front of the apartment. All went well with some minor problems getting the key box open. We did not meet the owners nor did we have any problems with the arrangement. Centrally located and close to everything. The only thing to be aware of with the fronting the street apartment, assuming there are more apartments to rent, was that on the two days we were there the garbage collection trucks arrived at 6-00am each morning which was not a problem for us as we were up and moving then due to time change adjustments still happening. The other issue was that we could hear the people in the above apartment walking around at 6-30 am and in the evening but as they kept similar hours to us it was not a real issue, just a part of travel and a different experience.
Close to the cruise terminal and ferry to Rottnest Island, shops, buses and trains to Perth. Free local buses in Fremantle and Perth were a bonus.
We travelled by bus from the airport to Perth and then train to Fremantle for less than $10 for two, can't really beat that. The local people were very helpful to us so no problems travelling around. Travel by train from Fremantle to Perth in about 35 minutes.
An enjoyable stay.

We spent three nights at the Fremantle Archway Apartments and for the most part, it was a very good experience.

The apartment had everything we needed and a complimentary breakfast tray was provided which was a nice surprise. Toiletries were provided and the cupboards were stocked with emergency bits and pieces which was great.

Our only issue was that we stayed on the lower level apartment (ground floor) and the noise from the family above was really bad. The family had a couple of kids and all we could hear was them running around and even when people were just walking around in the apartment above the 'stomping' noise was really irritating. They started stomping from about 6am every morning so there was no chance of a sleep in.

Also had a few issues with our booking - we paid the required deposit via paypal when we booked but the owner contacted us via email saying that our booking was going to be cancelled as the bank had reversed our deposit (it hadn't). Was all sorted in the end and the owner apologized for the mistake but it was just a bit stressful not knowing if we still had accommodation during the peak period.

Overall was a good place to stay - would stay again.

I religiously followed the check-in instruction to open the middle key safe, but there was no key in there! I rang up Daniel to try to get the key, he immediately believed that I was in the wrong place. He kept telling me that they have upper and lower apartments with accesses from two different streets, the error came from me being in the wrong place. I told him that I was on Henry St which is exactly what’s printed on the check-in instruction, I opened the key safe with the code provided to us but there was nothing in there, I had only 15 mins free parking on Henry St and we needed to get into the apartment asap, but Daniel would not listen. Fortunately, the guest in the upper apartment saw us, and opened the upper key safe with the code that he had, and found the key in there! Obviously, we were in the right spot but the key was misplaced into the wrong safe. After being told this, Daniel still didn’t apologize, didn’t say sorry for his misjudgement and harsh attitude towards us, which ruined the start of our stay in this lovely apartment right in the heart of the CBD
The toilet fan is not working properly, it makes really loud coughing scratching noise when it runs.
The dining guide on the brochure is out of date. The Vietnam restaurant at 55 High St is no longer there when we wanted a dinner there, it was closed down

Stayed in the lower apartment recently. The host Donna was very nice to deal with and the apt was very clean and tidy. The only downside was guests in the upstairs apartment had young children who simply ran wild. With wood floors every foot step they took we could hear. For the price paid, unsatisfactory.

What a great little find. Right in the heart of Fremantle in walking distance to everything. Very quaint heritage style building. Very clean and well maintained. Modern, trendy interior with all the mod cons. But it's the wow factor that got me. Not only were all the staples (including cleaning products, bathroom products and kitchen staples) provided free of charge, but there was an incredibly well stocked fridge and pantry with all items available on an honour basis. So many pros. Loved our stay

We have stayed twice at the Archway Apartments and have enjoyed the experience on each occasion. Both stays were in the downstairs unit.
The apartment is located in a gated laneway in the historical precinct and is easy walking distance to the cappuccino strip, markets, fishing boat harbour and most other local attractions. We found the check-in process to be very easy, there is a lock box just outside the gate and the managers communication was always prompt and informative. Inside is very spacious and beautifully fitted out, with all of the requirements for a self contained stay as well as breakfast pack and honesty box for extras such as mini bar items. The bedroom is particularly luxurious and we found everything to be in good working order.
Whilst I have no hesitation recommending this place, I think that there are a couple of things that may not be to everyone's liking:
If you have a car, parking could be a problem as there are no spots available inside the laneway. If you are sensitive to light at night, as others have mentioned it is impossible to block out all of the windows from the street lighting outside, and if you prefer "natural" ventilation there are no windows that can be opened so you must rely on the aircon. We did also hear noise from the upstairs unit but it was never sufficient to cause any problems.
If you are looking for self contained accommodation in an excellent location I think the Archway Apartments are hard to beat, would definitely stay here again.

What a fantastic find this apartment was. Perfect! The decor, the comfort, the location. Everything you could possibly want in an apartment is here, even The snacks available via the honour system where reasonably priced.
We will be returning with the family later in the year, and will definitely be booking this little gem.

We loved staying here - the apartment was HUGE and had all you could want for your stay, a full kitchen with breakfast included for the first day, a full size living and dining and generous bedroom. It was incredibly clean and the tastefully decorated throughout, it felt as though we were staying in someone's home. There was a 'mini bar' type system which worked on an honesty basis - $1 for a bottle of water compared to $5+ at many hotel is excellent in our books! The location was fantastic - within walking distance to everything and close to lovely cafes. The only small downside was that you could hear every footstep taken by the upstairs occupants which was frustrating at night but apart from this, we loved staying here.

Husband surprised me with a booking here for a few nights. Stayed in ground floor front apartment. Very impressed with the spacious, clean and welcoming environment including mood music, lighting and scents on arrival. Also centrally located to enable us to walk around and get to see the beautiful city of Freo. As others have said, welcomed the thoughtful provision of breakfast, basic items such as iPad charger, soap powder etc, and the honesty system for reasonably priced minibar & light snacks if you don't feel like going out for a meal.
One suggestion that would make this apartment close to ideal for most people would be to install a full blind between bedroom and sitting room and blackout the corner part of the window facing the street as there is a street light shining directly through it. We found that the bedroom was too light at night because of the street light and did prevent a sound sleep. If one person wanted to sit up later than the other there was no way of darkening the bedroom, the lighting from other rooms shone through. These suggestions made would remedy the issue easily. The lack of darkness was the only dissatisfaction we had.
Everything else was fantastic.
There were no noise issues during our stay and some of the permanent residents were very friendly.
