Even though we stayed there for just one night, we were a group of five families and had booked seven rooms. The rooms were spacious, and had generous patio overlooking their "local backwaters". The suites were lined along the water body, fringed with palm trees. Evenings were very relaxing. We enjoyed the paddle boats and oar boating on location in the morning. The breakfast and the location was very very clean and food was good. A perfect place to be your base camp in Allepey. You could check out their website, it was indeed as shown in the pictures

It's a nice place near to Kochi for a day out with family, as it's a large area with almost every amenities needed for an outing, but very poorly maintained. We were 4 families and the building allotted to us was very old and very poorly maintained. the stairs to the rooms were very dirty and inside the room also the cushions were aged and seem they never changed its cover in a lifetime. The restaurant was good with a good spread of food items. Kids enjoyed the place, but recommend keeping the place a little cleaner so that people will return.

Kalathil Lake Resort, Vaikom, Kumarakom, stay on 20/21 Sep 2022 by our family of Six adults, was an unforgettable experience. Superb location, splendid setting of water Front rooms , amazing environs, pristine surroundings, a perfect family sojourn, personal touch of Ms Vincy and the Resort Team and well org Ayurveda Treatment Set Up gave us surreal feeling of being genuinely welcome at the resort. Again, personal touch of Catering Manager( my apologies I don't recollect his name) to our Jain food requirements was a life time pleasant experience. I do not have a very good memories of this place. As we were 4 families who had booked four rooms for a night stay . We cleared it over the phone that we want cottages not the rooms. Catch here is the rooms are not actually on backwater , they get enough water during high tide only and view from these rooms are not good but cottages are good. After driving for hours when we reached there to checkin the lady on the counter said cottages are full. Point to mention is one tall and little chubby guy (probably manager) he came to us and his behaviour was very unwelcoming. But by the time we have had our Buffet lunch there which was only Kappa , sambar , papad, beef roast, ice cream and they charged us 500+ tax per person for the food which was not eVen worth 100 rs. I had a disappointment there so many negative vibes so i did not stay there. Resort is not same as fancy it looks on website and photo. Photos are deceptive and the lake they show its was fully dry. I wish when you book it be doubled assured aa the people are not good at keeping the promise.

This is a beautiful property. I really enjoyed my time exploring this property and being so close to nature. The lake and back waters in addition to the sunrise and sunset are a must to experience.
I do want to mention that the staff does a splendid job here. I had come here with my family. During our stay here, my family and I had some disagreements and unfortunately the staff got tangled into our family mess. But I was really impressed by the staff’s handling of what might have been a very difficult situation for them. The facilities here are top notch. The food is really well made and of top quality. The attention to detail by the wait staff, especially Jerry and Raji was remarkable. The staff at the reception conducted themselves with at most professionalism. Even the grounds keepers and helpers on the property did an excellent job.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to nature and be in a location where all their needs will be taken care of by high quality professionals. I will be back here with a different set of people. I hope I will meet some of you reading this at this location then.

I had a pleasant stay at this property with my friends . All the covid protocol measures were skilfully enforced by the staff that helped us to spend the vacation with care and confidence. Poorly maintained property. A property can be beautiful by virtue of location and the way it has been built . But service and maintenance is absolutely a different ball game . Bed linen is extremely poor. If you order on room service , they would say ‘no’ to mostly everything . Electric kettle not working in the room. House keeping takes very long . And the General Manager Mr Abhijeetis ready to say ‘no’ to everything . He can definitely give his excuses but his attitude is as if you are taking everything for free. Shortening my stay here !! Please choose wisely

Excellent location to take time off. Courteous staff and very clean. I went with family and extended family. Stayed in house boat. Had wonderful tour around the backwaters with DJ and music. Nice yummy food. I liked their kitchen has separate sections for vegetarians and non vegetarian food.

Beautiful place. Wonderful ambience. Neat and clean surroundings. Well maintained rooms. Great food. Great place in the outskirts of Ernakulam to spend weekends with family and friends. The staff is very cordial cheerful and efficient. I give bravo Zulu. The experience of shikkara ride in vembanad lake, a game of volleyball, swimming pool, paddle and row boating, lots of beautiful fishes etc wereall memorable experiences.

the best way would be to take a prepaid taxi from the airport itself. they are reliable. to go back to the airport...i'm not sure about this, but if you contact the resort 's management, they might help you to make arrangements.
There are more places to choose from in the Maravanthuruthu area.
