I have stayed there 2 nights with family and 3* quest house was really like cosy 2* hotel

+ very near to Palanga main walking street
+ quite big apartment and room where clean
+ in kitchen were all equipment what would need for longer stay as well - sugar, salt, cooking oil
+ quest house even had room cleaning every day

~ price*
*overpriced, but unfortunately almost all Palanga hotels prices are very high despite their stars. (you pay mostly only for Palanga location)

We were really amused to see such a homy acoomodation, the owners were wery hospitable and I felt myself like in my grandma & grandfa home. We had a room with its own entrance and a a small kitchenplace with all the equipment exept microwave (it was a minus). We had no breakfast, but it was no difficult for us to buy food in supermarket (5 minutes' walk) and to make breakfast. The location of gesthouse is very nice (3 minutes' walk to the beach) and very quiet, we have never had such a deep and calm sleep!!!!

Very lovely hotel. We booked an apartment with 3 rooms - it was very spacious. 2 rooms were separately and 1 bed was in the living room, which was passable. But the apartment also had a separate corner with a sofa and a dining table. And of course, a kitchenette and a toilet with a bath. There was a little pool with few sundbeds in the backyard, a BBQ corner and toys for children. The owners were very friendly. Location was also good - situated on a quiet street, about 10-minute walk to the beach. Also, there were free parking spots next to the hotel.

Good location. Nice rooms, but not big enough. We booked room for 3 pax. For 2 would be perfect but for 3 is too small. Very small TV. Very good wifi!!!! I couldn't understand why there was no curtains in the room in the morning very sunny in the room so if you like to sleep longer is a bit difficult.

We visited Palanga from 6th to 9 June to attend a friends wedding at Chateau Amber in Palanga and Lithuania exceeded our expectations.

From Kaunas airport we got the Ollex bus to Klaipeda. The journey was about 2 1/2 hours and a return ticket cost around £25 per person. Note that bus drivers are very punctual, and we almost got left behind at the airport when the driver left 10 minutes early! Palanga is a 20 minute taxi journey from Klaipeda, costing around 40-60 Lt.

When we arrived at Po Kastonu we were greeted by the friendly owners and were quickly shown to our room. The studio room included a small, but well equipped kitchen area including a fridge and kettle. We also had a balcony which we used as a dining area to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. We stayed in room 209 which also had a hairdryer and ironing board. The room was perfect for our needs.

We did not get chance to sit by the pool at the guest house, but this area seemed to be aimed at families, as the pool was small (paddling pool sized) and there were toys and bikes for children to use. The grounds around the guest house (and also the rest of Palanga) were well kept and attractive.

Po Kastonu is a 10 minute walk away from 2 supermarkets. We were provided with a handy map and directions by the guest house. The gorgeous, sandy beach is also only a short walk away. The guest house is situated on a quiet, residential road, so we did not hear any traffic noise during our stay.

We only had one free day to take in the sights of Palanga and this was enough. After walking along the beach we visited the park, where the Amber museum is located (although we didn't get to visit the museum as it was closed). The main street down to the beach contains plenty of places to buy souvenirs and get ice creams, food and drinks.

Overall we were impressed with Palanga, as it was a clean and friendly place. Perfect if you want to get away from it all for a few days and relax on the beach.

"Access to room 209 is via its own external staircase, which was handy as you did not have to enter the main house. This room overlooked a small car park, so it was set back from the road."
