Spatz is a real jewel of Kazimierz district. It is situated in the historic centre of Cracow in cultural, shopping and business area, surrounded by climatic houses. This is an unforgettable journey to the past. Spatz is a perfect starting point for trips to Oscar Shindler's Factory, former ghetto and old Jewish synagogues. Buffet breakfast is served everyday in Kazimir restaurant. There you can also have a dinner or lunch.

Spatz Aparthotel has garnered praise for its welcoming service and helpful staff, although there have been some rare complaints of rudeness. The rooms elicit mixed reactions, with guests appreciating their cleanliness and comfort but some criticizing maintenance and outdated decor. The value proposition is generally positive, highlighted by a decent breakfast, though a few suggest there might be better alternatives nearby. Cleanliness and a well-maintained environment earn high marks, particularly for added touches like water stations. Despite a charming outdoor courtyard contributing to a pleasant atmosphere, noise at night can be an issue. The breakfast wins consistent accolades, and many guests love the central location close to cultural hotspots.

We arrived at the Spats aparthotel late evening and were greeted by a very welcoming receptionist. We had a large room with the balcony. Room was well furnished, clean and had a large double and a single bed. The bathroom whilst small housed a corner shower, small handbasin and WC. The room was light and airy with two large windows and a patio door leading onto a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The location is good only a few minutes walk away from the square, and about 15 mins walk to Krakow old town, square. The hotel is situated on a busy corner junction and is surrounded by bars, cafes, and other eateries. There is a lot of footfall around this area and it can get very noisy more so in the early hours of the morning. The hotel is well presented overall, although needs some updating in some areas, there is no lift so those with walking difficulties may find the stairs difficult. The Buffet breakfast in my opinion was not to my liking and if you wanted an English you had to pay extra for that. The food in the restaurant was of good quality and well presented, however, if you want sauces the likes of mayonnaise then you have to pay extra for those. The staff are excellent very polite and helpful. The free drink at the bar voucher, small beer or sparking wine or lemonade was a nice touch.

Stayed in the Spatz for 4 nights (17-21st may) in a triple room. 3 generations , my mum, myself & my daughter.
Everything from before our visit to check out was great and all staff were lovely.
On arrival we were allocated room 23 on the very top floor which was a great size and the bathroom was huge. Beds were comfy. We were also given welcome drinks vouchers too which were a nice touch. After our 1st night we found the stairs were too much for my mum (she is in her late 60's) and also for myself so after breakfast we asked if there would be a chance we could be moved to a lower floor ,which the hotel did for us no hassle at all. We were moved to room 9 on the 1st floor which was slightly smaller but spotlessly clean and looked like it was recently refurbished too.
We ate in the hotel on our 2nd night as we didn't want to venture too far after a full day at Auchwich, food was tasty and reasonable. Cocktails, coffee's and soft drinks were all cheap too in the bar.
Breakfast had a decent enough selection, with a few items such as boiled eggs, crepes, scrambled eggs & omelette available to order as part of your bb rate. You could upgrade to a full English for an extra ÂŁ2 per day (can't comment on it as we didn't try it).
The hotel is in a great area right in the heart of the Jewish quarter with plenty of restaurants around it and a 15 min stroll to the old town. It can be quite noisy later on in the evenings if your room is overlooking the front of the hotel.
There is a water machine on the 1st floor which is handy.
The hotel arranged our auchwich tour which was handy for us and also arranged for a taxi to take is to the mall on our last day.
All in all we enjoyed our stay in the Spatz and would stay again if we were ever in Krakow.

Just returned from krakow and the spatz Hotel. Homely Hotel with pleasant staff all round. Free drink on arrival which was nice and taken in the bar which was good too. Bit of an issue with heating in our room on first night but we were upgraded for the rest of our stay which was appriciated (bigger room suite)!! Breakfast buffet was plentyful (for me and the wife) although others may prefer more choice but for us it was adaquite. The hotel is just 10mins walk to the main centre of krakow and passes on the way krakow Castle, plenty of cafes about for slow walkers! For auwchvitz the bus pick up point was only a 7 min walk away (ideal). Salt mines a must be - visit too. (same pick up point). not far from the river and took a leasurely walk along the river path. Take a stop on the pedestrian /bike foot bridge and look at the "gymnastics" moving. And if you are into "enscribed lovers pad locks" the bridge is covered in them!!!
Artitechture history are plenty and the interactive museum under the cloth market building was also worthy of a visit.
Thanks spatz Hotel thanks krakow-loved it!

This hotel was ok. Paid for the upgrade and the room was massive. The shower wasn't great and to say we upgraded it was two single beds pushed together. The reception team were nice and allowed us to stay in the room for an extra 2 hours with no extra charge and kept our luggage until we were ready to go.

The breakfast was interesting, the food not my cup of tea at all and the "English breakfast" was poor. The staff were not very attentive neither were the bar staff.

We stayed 5th - 8 March as a party of 10. It was our 2nd stay at the Spatz and oh dear both stays could not have more different!!!!!
Firstly me and my husband booked a deluxe room as a special treat. Upon checking in we were given the key to room 28 on the top floor. Not a problem I already knew there were no lifts at the hotel.
There were renovations going on in the hotel so the 1st floor was unavailable.
Upon entering the room we were hit with a stong smell of cigarette smoke. Being non-smokers it was awful.
Upon further inspection of the room, It was to be honest, filthy.
The walls were dirty and scuffed, there was a filthy old lamp in the corner of the room with the shade hanging off and there was a socket on the wall near the bed with no cover on it at all just bare wires.
I went down to reception to see if they could move us. Told her the problem, she said there is a no smoking policy in the hotel so it can't smell of cigarette smoke. I took her to the room so she could see for herself and she agreed it was unacceptable.
Because of the renovations there was no other deluxe room available so we had no option but to accept a standard. No apology was offered.
On the first morning 6 of our party were going to Auschwitz, and we had pre ordered a packed lunch for them by email before arrival because it was a 7am pickup. On going to reception to get them, they said no pack lunches were available for them you had to order in advance! We complained yet again to the reception who said the manager would be informed and get back to us, but nothing.
As one of the young ladies is pregnant she needs to eat. But they would not accept it the lunch was pre-ordered, we even had the email to prove it.
Upon arriving home, I emailed the Spatz requesting a refund in the difference of the 2 rooms. It equated to around ÂŁ25. I was point blank refused. Even though they had accepted the room was in an unfit state.
No explanation given. I then got the email address of the manager, I asked the reason why they couldn't refund the difference He hasn't even had the decency to reply to me.
also on booking with them, they say they have a fully stocked mini bar in the room.
Don't be fooled. They do not! It was empty, as were the mini fridges of all out party
The 2 stars I have given were for the breakfast staff who were lovely.
Please if they give you the key to room 28 don't accept it!

Everything you need from a base to explore the city.
Exceptionally friendly staff who are always available and add to the warm ambience that this small cosy hotel successfully generates.
The bar and restaurant are always open and well staffed with arguably one of the finest breakfast open tables in Poland.
If you are looking for comfort and convenience and at a price you can afford - look no further than the Spatz Aparthotel

I stayed here for four nights the week before Christmas. On arrival I was greeted by the lovely Natalia who helped me deal with a dishonest taxi driver who was trying to charge me an extortionate fare. He promptly left following Natalia’s intervention. I arrived very late at 1.00am, on arrival the front door was closed but not locked. I was really well looked after by the reception staff and the restaurant staff. They really are wonderful and kind.
My room was number 21 on the top floor, there is no lift so this could be an issue for some people. There is a bellboy to help with luggage but late at night I had to take my case up myself.
My room was small but very clean and fresh, there is a tv but only sky news in English.
There is shower gel in the bathroom and hand soap, towels provided and changed if requested.
I had no safe but I could keep my belongings securely in the hotel safe and access as and when required.
I ate breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
Breakfast was an all you can eat Buffett. There is a separate area to order scrambled eggs and fruit juices, coffee, salad, fresh fruit, breads, croissants are provided etc.
I had two evening meals here, chicken burger and chicken penne pasta. The food was outstanding and I highly recommend eating in here. It was reasonably priced as well.
The hotel provides a complementary free drink voucher to use in the hotel bar. I do have to agree with the other reviews that the girl behind the bar is not at all welcoming or friendly which is a shame as I’m sure the hotel is losing custom due to the negative atmosphere.
The hotel is set in the Jewish quarter with an amazing array of restaurants on the doorstep. I got some really good food from Plac Nowy behind the hotel.
I highly recommend staying at the Spatz Aparthotel.
On my last day I was offered a later check out for free until 12pm but I decided to pay for an extra night so I could have my room until my late departure.

Lovely hotel, nearly all the staff were friendly and helpful. It has a great breakfast selection with lots of choice, we ate in the restaurant once, the food was good and cheap. It has a great bar with cheap prices (only negative was that when we tried to get a drink at 11.30 on Monday the barman said it was closed, it is supposed to close at 12). Be aware the stairs are draining if you're on the 3rd floor, like we were, however it wouldn't put me off returning in the future.

Just spent 4 nights at the Spatz whilst visiting Krakow as a tourist. Firstly the staff at the hotel were spuperb, very welcoming and supportive during our visit. The breakfasts were good with a choice to suit all needs (English,French, Polish and Veggie) Bar served good driks but closed a little early for a hotel at 10pm? Room was a little tired decor wise but was very clean and had a good shower with plenty of hot water. The location of the Spatz is superb close by is the Jewish quarter with a vast array of bars and restaurants , the Wawel castle just 5 minutes walk away and the main square a gentle 15 minute stroll. A good choice for visitors to the City who are looking for friendly staff, good location and a place with clean rooms and good breakfast. Thans to all the staff at Spatz we had a great time.

I booked to stay here in December with my Partner and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and the hotel was very clean. There is a lovely Restaraunt downstairs and a bar. The location is central and it is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Castle and the Main Square. Would definitely stay here again if we returned.
