The hotel had the feel of a business or airport hotel. Everything worked smoothly and efficiently. Rooms were decidedly compact but not cramped. Ours had a river view (extra charge) which also came with slight overnight disturbance by trams rumbling over the bridge. Electronic room safe always a welcome inclusion and coffee making facilities, though unfortunately the coffee was pretty undrinkable. There was also a mini-bar. Bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels. The shower was set inside a bath with very high sides. I can see that might cause problems for anyone elderly or with reduced mobility.
The gym and pool/health suite areas were clean and well maintained and quite popular early evening, which made the small locker/changing room somewhat cramped and only really comfortable for about two people at a time.
The hotel is rightly proud of its Breakfast Of 100 Things, served in a spacious dining room on the ground floor. Copious varieties of breads, meat, cheeses and fresh fruits and juices. Coffee was very good and there was a wide variety of teas available. I thought the hot food section let the side down slightly, being relatively limited (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, a few veggies) and not very hot, even at 7am. And the early morning diet of stale American rock music may not be to everybody's taste.
Special thanks to the barman who took the trouble to write us down a couple of restaurant recommendations. We followed these up and were very grateful. Good choices!
I would be more than happy to stay here again on my next visit to Krakow.
Only negative thing for us was as its December we were expecting a Christmas feel to the hotel, as other hotels in the area were decorated with trees and sparkly lights etc, There is nothing in the hotel, not even a Christmas tree there are only small centre peices in the middle of the tables.
Location is OK, close to Schindlers Factory and the local shopping centre.
However for the old town and main square it is about a 30 -40 Minute walk, and we are not slow walkers, however, Taxis are readily available. However we walked the distance of the London Marathon in 3 days 😁.
Breakfast was good, cleaning good with a good selection of food, mask wearing required throughout the hotel and dining areas.
There is no entertainment at the hotel, But there are a few bars dotted locally, We never got around to using the gym/Swimming areas, so we can not comment on these.
Overall I would recommend this Hotel for quality & location.
We stayed 8 nights at the hotel. Supposed to be free cancellation, after first night when we wanted to change the hotel, they said we can only get 50% money back.
Paper coffee cups in the room, we called to ask for ceramic ones, miss from reception wanted to charge us 20zl (for empty cup).
Air con doesn’t work even after change the room, and rooms are super hot so good luck to stay in the summer. Good location, however very loud because of it, when you want some fresh air, due to air conditioner doesn’t work- hard to sleep.
Rooms very small, bathroom standard literally like premier inn, breakfast average- fried eggs looks like they spent a week on the counter.
The worse however was the situation when we find member of stuff in our room, without letting us know. We were outside and my partner came back, noticed opened door and member of stuff said he’s “looking for a leak”!! We also had a “don’t disturb” card on the door this day. When we asked in reception if they can explain the situation, young man said he will check in the book, but he hasn’t found any information.
For this price you can get much better standard with nice, helpful stuff
The hotel is conviently placed for the old town, Heroe's square, Schindler factory,Tram stops to new town or if you wanted to walk into the new town it's about 20-30 minutes.
We booked a trip to Auschwitz and Auschwitz Birkenau directly through the tourist shop in the Hotel. I contacted them back in August via email. They were so helpful with arranging the trip and helpful with directions, places to eat etc. We had a lift directly from our hotel to both sites and a lift back again. There were 3 other people in our car so not too much driving around. The hotel provided a packed lunch as we would have missed breakfast and there was loads to eat so all good.
All in all a fantastic stay. The only thing that let this place down was the surly Receptionists. Not a smile in them with the exception of one young lady. However, still a great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Big downside is the guests, there seems to be a high reluctance to either social distance, use sanitiser or wear masks to help reduce the spread of Covid19. The staff all wear masks, there is signs and sanitiser everywhere, the staff are even handing out masks as you enter the restuarant but the extreemly rude guests just stick the masks in their pocket with no regard to the safety of the lovely staff. Such a shame. We were recently in Lanzarote, there no mask no service! I afraid its easy to see why this pandemic is on the rampage.
The buffet breakfast was amazing every morning with so much choice.
The rooms were cleaned daily.
The swimming pool, jacuzzi steam room and sauna was a delight to use and kept immaculately.
It's location is about a 15-20 minute walk to the square but a taxi is only 18 zloty
Would highly recommend the hotel and if we go back I will stay again
We were stunned at Christmas Day 9.30 by knocking of housekeeping girl offering towels exchange. REAL 4*.
