Detailed Reviews
Apologies if I’ve spelt the name wrong. Stayed as 2 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 6. The room was comfortable and inviting. Used both double bed and sofa, which we did move in order to prevent kids falling out of bed. Had a separate rm joined to it, which had toys, books, tv, a massive blackboard on the wall for kids to draw on. Was slightly concerned it might encourage bad habits back home. So far so good on that. There was also a hanging cushioned sort of swing / chair for the kids to play inside. Definitely a high light for them. The carpet perhaps wasn’t the best, but considering it’s a room designed for families with youngish children, was pretty ok.
Restaurant was good with generally a very good selection of things to eat. Sometimes imagination was required to maximise. I.e chocolate sauce for croissants or fresh pancakes, also made very good chocolate for making hot chocolate. Fresh fruit, which could go through the blender / juicer, making the most amazing drink. Sometimes there was a better selection than other days and or times, but you can always ask a member of staff. We found the staff in general very helpful and willing to look after us. Sometimes you need to be brave and ask, but I don’t think that’s always a negative.
Swimming pool was a little on the cool side, but if keeping active in the pool, wasn’t too bad. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we didn’t have any complaints with hotel or staff.
There are also a couple of little by U.K. standard supermarkets close by which is quite handy. Location is great for walking to the centre. Food we found was better away from the centre area and better value normally. If looking to exchange money, there are thousands of places offering exchange rates. Do your research! The difference for gbp to polish Zloty was varying from 3.05 PlZ to the GB£ up to 4.98plz.
The only other comment I would make, before using taxis, do some research, check what cost they should be. Ask them what the cost is before going somewhere. We were charged double the price by 1 guy, after doing the same journey return, but different driver.

Modern and clean hotel nice room with 2 huge king sized beds. Breakfast nice selection including cook your own eggs and waffles , but a little pricey £25 for 2 people per day.
Gym good with dumbell and barbells , punch bags , pull up bar and some cardio machines. Nice pool and hot tub.
Good location next to a team stop or 10/15 minute walk to old town.

I liked everything in general.
The attention of the staff, and number, there was always someone present in each place.
Spacious and well equipped rooms.
Breakfast is super good in quality and quantity.
Fitness space is insane! I do rowing(machine) and I was happy to find a concept 2!!!
The restaurant is top notch, by less than 25€ I get a delicious gourmet plate with a glass of organic red wine.
Very recommendable!

The hotel has a nice location close to the castle and the river. The old town is also reached within a few minutes.
I’m Gold ALL member and I was lucky to get an upgrade to a privileged room with a great view over the river, you could even see the castle. For this I ‘m grateful of course. I’m a loyal customer with Accor because you know you can expect certain standards. I was a little disappointed that my room didn’t look like on the website. Usually when there are renovated and non-renovated rooms, this is written on the website. There was nothing wrong with my room, it was a great room, but for example I missed the rain shower that is advertised on the website.
I was not very happy with the way the breakfast was organized during these corona times. It felt more like a canteen in a factory then breakfast in Novotel. The excuse that it is difficult during this pandemic doesn’t fly with me. This is my 7th hotel during this summer. I suggest that the restaurant manager goes to take a look in Mercure Wroclaw Centrum or Mercure Bydgoszcz Sepia where the breakfast is more corona proof and still feels how it should feel.

Response from Chrystyna Tkaczenko, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Novotel Krakow Centrum

Dear Johan v, Thank you very much for evaluating your stay and detailed comments. Thanks to the opinions of guests, we have a chance to find out which aspects of their stay are the most satisfying, and which we still need to work on. In the current pandemic situation, the hotel is obliged to comply with the sanitary regime imposed by the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate. Due to the prevailing rules, the buffet must be served by a trained employee. We apologize if it did not meet your expectations. However, we tested various possibilities and the form in which you used it is the most optimal for the functioning of our hotel and the comfort of guests, who often travel to us with children. Which of course we are very happy and proud of! I hope that when we meet again in the City of Kings, we will be able to surprise you with an amazing atmosphere at our breakfasts :) Kind regards, Chrystyna Tkaczenko Guest Experience Specialist

Jacuzzi out of order in the spa.
Warm dishes in the breakfast buffet were too low in temperature, and the cold dishes were almost room temperature.
Super strong detergent smell in the elevator one morning.
Personnell nice and amicable, especially in the restaurant.
Food there in the evening was good.
Alone the starters were big enough to satisfy our appetite.

First when we came the welcoming was great and they also explain everything about the hotel - great attractions there is pool and hot tab. The hotel is super close to the old city. In our last night we ate at the bar in the hotel, great service and really good food. We ask from them to open for us a bottle that we bought outside because we wanted to drink in our room they gladly helped us and also asked if we want ice and more glasses. Great service and really good , clean and big room. Definitely will come back here.

I do not recommend at all for long stays and business trips! I had the worse experience of my life in this hotel! Drunk people suddenly came into my room at 2am while sleeping! When i complaint about the incident i learnt that they came to the reception first and said that they couldn’t find their room cards. Lady in the reception asked their room number and they told mine!!! At the end without questioning anything (no id check, nothing) reception gave them MY room card. This is very irresponsible and a serious mistake which can cause security problems. Yes, they sent a sorry note with a bottle of wine next day but it does not change anything!
Another point that needs significant improvement is definitely the room service. When you are on a business trip you mostly prefer to stay at the hotel, have your dinner in the room and get some rest afterwards but it is very difficult to reach out to room service as they mostly do not pick up the phone. At once, After giving a 30mins try i gave up and had to go out to get something to eat! When i asked the reason why, hotel personnel told me that they were busy. So basically they cannot manage their guest population and adjust themselves accordingly. For long stays and business trips consider to stay in somewhere else!!!

I just had a short break with my 14 year old son and loved this spot. The hotel is a short walk along the river to Wawel and the main square. It was also convenient to get to the rail station and airport: 10 and 15 min respectively in normal traffic.
The staff were lovely and helpful. We had an early train to catch one morning so a pack up breakfast was sorted as was the taxi and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was a touch pricey for Polish standards but it was worth it. We loved the variety of Polish breads, cakes, cheeses and meats; a chef even made fresh omelettes for us.
The facilities are good. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub which weren't too busy but it wasnt peak season. The fuzball table and things for kids to do was a bonus. Finally, the room was emaculate and a good size.
All around, a good spot to stay.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 4 nights in February and enjoyed our stay. When we arrived, check in was easy and we were informed we had been upgraded from a standard room to executive which was nice (I had let the hotel know in advance we were coming on a birthday trip for me). The room was lovely, very spacious and clean. After getting in our room we were delivered a little dessert for my birthday which was a lovely touch. Great views over the river and castle from our room. Would have given 5 stars however the pool and jacuzzi were out of order for 2 days of our stay, due to maintenance issues. This was highly disappointing for us as the pool was the main reason we chose the hotel. We didn’t have breakfast included in our stay so can’t comment on the food but 65zloty per person seemed very expensive for this! Having had several meals out in Kraków (which is a fairly cheap city) for a lot less than this we couldn’t justify paying this much just for breakfast.
Would definitely stay here again though.

We were put here overnight by BA when our flight was cancelled. Reception staff were efficient and helpful considering they were suddenly overcome with lots of people arriving at 7pm on a Sunday night.
Comfortable room with a view to the Castle, reception provided us with toothbrushes and there were toiletries in the bathroom. Just one sachet of everything seemed a bit odd, 1 of tea, 1 of coffee, 1 decaf coffee etc, but it wasn't an issue for our one night.
The burger meal we had in the restaurant was very good and big compliments to the lovely gentleman working behind the bar who was very friendly and helpful, such a shame we don't remember his name, a true asset to this hotel. Again, kudos to restaurant staff dealing with an unexpected influx of diners.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special but to be honest all we want to do at that point was to get home.
I can't comment on the price to stay here but from what I saw if the price was reasonable I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Krakow.

Hello Alan :)
The shuttle bus can be arranged by our Reception Team with an extra cost. Please contact the hotel directly.
Thank you
No idea I’m afraid. Sorry I can’t help, but I hope if you stay there, you have a great time!
I was staying there few times and always in my room was quiet. Never heard any parties or noises. It is really nice and good place to stay and rest. Hope it helps a bit.
My friend recommended Pimiento Argentina grill on the main square. We didn’t try it but looked fabulous. You can find every type of food in the square!
Novotel has an underground parking garage. As you look at the hotel, it’s on the left If the hotel by a petrol station. Park then pay at reception for exit ticket. About 8€ a day. Very secure.
Not sure opening times. Think it is 7am. But I know the closing time is 10am for the pool, Sauna and
Jacuzzi.
The gym is open 24/7
