Nestled off the main square, Hotel Rezydent is often celebrated for its central location, making it a prime choice for those looking to explore Krakow. Guests acknowledge the hotel's value, noting its reasonable prices for the basic, yet adequate, amenities provided. The hotel exudes a quirky charm, amidst clean and comfortable surroundings, although a few guests feel the decor could use an update.
The cleanliness of the rooms receives high marks, as does the generally friendly service, though the night staff's service varies. While the rooms are spacious and well-kept, some visitors advise that noise and temperature can sometimes detract from the overall comfort.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here with friends from 2nd -6th March, the hotel is in a fabulous location, less than 1 minuet from the main square. The rooms are very large and comfortable and have a modern bathroom with a hairdryer. There is plenty of storage space in the rooms. You have tea and coffee making facilities and supplies are topped up daily. Breakfast is served in a restaurant just to the side of the hotel where there is plenty of choice from hot to cold options. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and supply you with a city map when you check in. There are plenty of places to eat in the main square or venture down one of the side streets for more restaurants. Overall a great stay in a great hotel. Work in the travel industry so will be recommending this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Kraków.

We stayed here for 4 days in January and absolutely loved Kraków and this hotel is in the perfect location right on the main square. It was -4 when we were there and the hotel was always so warm and toasty.
Bathroom was modern and looked brand new. Very clean.
Beds very comfortable, pillows not the best but there is plenty to try.
Coffee and tea making facilities available for free in the room along with bottles of water which is replenished daily.
Room was a good size and our room looked right onto the street in front of the hotel. People say it’s noisy (ear plugs are provided) but I really didn’t find it noisy at all. And we slept with the window open sometimes. Heating is fantastic in the room and you can control it yourself.
Didn’t speak to the staff apart from check in and check out but they were friendly. Cleaners always said hi.
Breakfast in the little restaurant 2 doors down was good. Plenty to choose from and the restaurant itself is so cute.
I would 100% stay here again and have already recommended it to friends and family.
Thanks for a great stay

The Rezydent Hotel is in a perfect location (although not obvious to find) for making the most of everything on offer in Krakow. I recommend this hotel if you want a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of the city. On our evening arrival the reception staff were not particularly welcoming, brusque and little unfriendly.
I had emailed ahead and requested a quiet room and this was honoured. We had room 8 at an annex at the rear of the hotel. Room 8 was very comfortable, great beds, clean and tidy, great shower.
Tea and coffee facilities are a bit mean but shops are close by.
As mentioned by others breakfast is self service in a restaurant a few doors down. We found something to eat each morning, not amazing but more than adequate, plenty of choice of local foods, cereal, breads and hot and cold drinks. One day we had pancakes.
When we went into the reception on another occasion the young man on the desk was extremely welcoming and friendly. He was helpful suggesting places to visit, best restaurants etc, such a contrast to the staff on arrival. First impressions are so important, perhaps staff need training on etiquette from the younger staff?
There are plenty of places to eat and drink in Krakow and many amazing bakery shops selling bread and fantastic cakes.
We thought food and drink was reasonably priced, even inexpensive, we ate out every evening and found some nice bars for inexpensive drinks.
We did trips to The Salt Mines, Schindlers Factory, Auschwitz and Birkenau. I really recommend you do the trips.
There are some amazing walks along the river, the old castle walls, parks and beautiful market square.
Lovely city to visit, decent hotel to use as a base.

Arrived at approx 7.30pm on the Monday evening, walked by it twice looking for it due to taxis not allowed on the street. Stayed in room 37 on the first floor so had the luxury of the lift. Check in easy, staff very amenable, helped with the luggage to our room. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The only downside was the visitors in the next room ( people from the Newcastle region) who thought it was acceptable to talk in very loud voices into the early hours, then again from about 6.15 am, waking us up. The breakfast in the Marmalada restaurant was sufficient and staff were friendly but they didn’t replenish food when the stock was low resulting in not much choice if you were late down for breakfast. The hotel is in a great location for the main square and all the eateries and bars. Yes, would definitely stay there again.

I am writing this review while still here at the Hotel Rezydent.
Firstly, the hotel is in a prime location in the centre of town, right next to the Rynek Glowny (main square) in Grodzka Street.
I was given a room on the first floor overlooking the street. Yes, it's a busy area with a lot of people coming and going, but with the windows closed (it's still cool in the evenings just now) I wasn't troubled by the noise outside. It could be a problem in the summer, though, if you have to leave a window open at night, but the hotel leaves earplugs on your bedside table should you require them!
The room itself, though small, was adequate for my short stay. But, oh - the bed! Very uncomfortable and in dire need of a new mattress! It has certainly seen better days. Ouch.
There is a small wardrobe, but with only three hangers I could have done with one or two more.
The room has a kettle, and a bottle of water is left in your room each day with coffee sachets and tea bags. Wifi is good. A safe in the room at no extra cost.
Rooms are cleaned every day and towels replaced if required.
Although I was bed and breakfast, I did not go down in the morning to eat, preferring just a coffee in my room so I cannot comment there.
Reception staff friendly and knowledgable and they can book trips to Auschwitz, salt mines etc for you which saves you time and shopping around.
For any smokers among you, there is a yard at the back of the hotel with a seating area.
In conclusion, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Just remember it's on a busy street: and beware - you may get a lumpy bed!!

Really disappointed with our stay here last week. We were meant to be in a superior double but I really don’t think that’s what our room was (room 90). We were right up in the roof with no view, rain bouncing off the skylight, had to go up 80 stairs each time, four flights as there was no lift and I just recovering from an ankle injury and my husband struggles with his feet.
The room was tiny. Beds were comfortable and shower was hot but they were literally the only 2 positives. The room was dirty. There were hair clips on the floor when we arrived and we made a point of leaving them....they remained there for the entirety of our stay.
There was a star sticker on the stair case....also remained for our stay....I don’t think they have heard of a Hoover. The staff at reception were very abrupt and not very helpful.
Normally I would’ve asked to move but I am trying to be more positive so decided to grin and bare it, in hindsight we should’ve asked to move.
I would return to krakow but not to this hotel, there was nothing superior about our room and I felt like because it was our first time they took advantage of that.
Breakfast at the marmalade cafe was also poor we only went twice out of our 4 days causing additional costs.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your stay and feedback. I am sorry that the room did not meet your acceptance, However, the description of the hotel clearly states that not all rooms have elevator access so this should come as no surprise. Also here on Tripadvisor many opinions say this. Under your reservation there were no special wishes and unfortunately if we are not informed about any health problems before arrival very often during the stay we cannot change the room. The room size complies with the regulations for 3-star facilities. In addition, the fact that the building is a historic house prohibits us from changing the configuration of the object. The name of the superior room refers to its equipment because the room has elements that are not mandatory for a 3 star object. It does not refer to room location or view. Some of our guests prefer rooms without a view because they are quiet, some do not mind rooms with a view of Grodzka Street, although they belong to much louder. However, this is a very subjective feeling. I talked to the reception manager and no comments about the cleanliness of the room were reported during the stay. Of course, I am very sorry for the hair pins left because it should not be done but it is difficult to determine the cleanliness of the room on this basis. Unfortunately, the comments about breakfast are too general for me to refer to them. Breakfast is served buffet style and prepared in such a way that everyone can find something for themselves. If you missed something, I regret that it was not mentioned because only in this way we are able to change something, of course, if it does not go beyond the accepted standards for 3-star facilities. Best regards, Joanna Grzesiak Hotel Rezydent***

The hotel is in a great location close to the market square and all main attractions, bars, restaurants etc.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms.
Our room was up three flights of long stairs and there was no lift to these rooms so no good for someone with limited mobility. I would recommend staying here but check out the location of your room beforehand.

Stayed for four nights in this three star hotel and it was as expected a three star would be. First off when looking for it, it is exactly opposite the ice-cream shop. Just turn around and look upwards and you should be able to see the sign if you look carefully as it’s on a clear background and just to the left of The Butcher’s Grill. Go down the corridor and reception is on the left.
Our room was 62 which is just a few metres away out of the hotel and along the road and up two flights of stairs. The room had dark furnishings but it was clean and of a good size. The bathroom was a really good size and modern with a powerful hairdryer. Our window looked out onto the street. There was a little noise, as to be expected in its good position, but this didn’t interrupt our sleep. The clip clopping of horses’ hooves was in fact rather comforting.
If we used the coffee or bottled water provided in the room it was replaced at no charge. Some reviewers have said there were pastries and fresh fruit available for breakfast but this wasn’t the case when we were there. Saying that, the breakfast was absolutely adequate for a three star hotel and we ate well.
The hotel is situated just a few metres from the square which is beautiful and is well placed for the castle, the surrounding gardens which are around the area and for the start of tours.
The hotel booked us a combined trip to Auswitz and the salt mines. We booked online for a free trip around the Jewish Quarter which was interesting and informative and you pay what you think it’s worth at the conclusion.
In the street behind the hotel there is an excellent polish restaurant with fab food which is well priced. We stuck to polish restaurants and always had a good meal.
All the staff at the hotel we met were nice, including the girls doing the room whom we met outside our room. The female receptionists and the young lad receptionist were helpful and pleasant. The only thing that marred our experience was the night before we left we hadn’t heard by text or email re our transport to the airport. Normally this would be from the hotel but as this is a pedestrianised area we weren’t sure whether we needed to wait at the hotel or walk down the street to where vehicles and taxis parked. The male receptionist was abrupt and dismissive saying he didn’t know and it was nothing to do with the hotel (true but unhelpful) and continued with what he was doing. We asked if he could make a phone call on our behalf and he just stated, ‘they’ll speak English’. The following morning the female receptionist was lovely and advised us to stay at the hotel because if it was anywhere different and we were missing they would more than likely ring the hotel and she’d let us know.
A plus is there was no city tax to pay and if we were to return to Krakow we’d stay at this hotel again as it’s well priced for its location and to use as a base.

I booked a solo trip to Kraków so want to stay somewhere central so I was close to the action and didn’t need to catch busses and trams alone. The location here was perfect. The room however was ridiculously hot. I had no window in to get fresh air - my room had a window that opened on to the corridor. Luckily they provided a fan and I also took a small portable fan with me as I knew there was no air con. Granted you pay for what you get but my room really should not have been a proper room as it did not even have a window to the outside.
The breakfast was in a restaurant just a couple of doors to the left of the hotel. It was ok. Sufficient but not filling.
Kraków itself was amazing. Great value for money for food, drink and transport.
Make sure you do the free walking tour from outside St Mary’s Basilica (freetour.com). I did the old town walk in the morning and the Kazimierz tour in the afternoon. Really interesting tour guide and got lots of info from them that I didn’t know about Kraków.

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your stay and feedback. As the hotel is located in a historic building, we can't tear it apart. Therefore, several rooms have a window facing the corridor. I understand that this solution does not suit everyone, but it is not prohibited by law and is used even in hotels of a much higher standard around the world. Air conditioning is not obligatory in 3-star hotels. Each room has a manually controlled radiator and the guest can adjust its temperature to their needs. Best regards, Joanna Grzesiak Rezydent*** hotel Manager

Let’s start with the positives: great central location, clean room and bathroom, very helpful female receptionist, and thank you to the young man who helped carry our suitcases up and down four flights of stairs . Now for the not so positives: four flights of stairs!!!! Luckily my friend and I are fairly fit but by the end of our 4th day, we had both had enough. Definitely not for anyone with mobility issues of any kind. Our room faced the Main Street and it was exceptionally noisy throughout the night- and I do not use the word exceptionally lightly!! Good quality ear plugs are a must. Even though our room faced the Main Street, we had no view so couldn’t even amuse ourselves watching the revellers on their way home. I think the hotel could do with some maintenance: the wires on one of our light fitting started to appear as rose fitting came away; a metal cover fell off in the bathroom narrowly missing my friend. A major worry was no fire exit apart from main staircase. Advise on the door was if smoke is too thick, go back in the room and shout for help from the window!!!

It is most convenient to order a taxi - the hotel reception will be happy to help you with this. The cost varies between PLN 100-120 (depends on the number of people, day and time of collection).
If this solution does not suit you, you can use public transport. There is a train from the airport to Kraków Główny - the ticket price is PLN 9 per person, one way. From the station, you will walk to the hotel in about 10-15 minutes.
