This hotel is great. My twin room had 2 double beds!!! Just to put in prospective of the size of the room!!! Wood block floor, table and chairs, a writing desk and chair, large sofa, tv and bedside tables, it’s huge, with high ceilings, nice warm room. The bathroom is a good size too and it’s quite modern in comparison to the room. But I like the decor it’s in keeping with this old building and surrounding area, if you want a hotel that you can find anywhere at home book it but If you like charm this is perfect (I’m 39 years old btw not ancient 🥴).
The staff are friendly and helpful our housekeeper didn’t speak English but we worked out how to communicate and she was so helpful and accommodating (don’t worry people I only wanted another tea bag so it’s nothing major when I mention housekeeping).
The room is clean, hotel is clean, car park here is about £12 a day but it’s easier to pay the car park at the hotel than on street parking because the parking meter was a little confusing and street parking is quite full, however street parking is free on a Sunday in krakow. The breakfast is nice, location is perfect, lots of trams and buses for those who don’t have a car, but pretty much everything is walking distance. Warwel castle is right next to you. About 18 minutes from krakow airport by car. Krakow or Poland in itself is lovely, so much recent history here 😔 but we should never forget. I’ve not eaten at the restaurant in the hotel apart from breakfast so I can’t comment about the food, but all the places I’ve gone to eat in krakow has been amazing and so cheap to dine out. Alcohol is cheap too. I’ve got nothing negative to say about my visit to royal hotel or Poland.
In the shower cabin, of course, large mold stains on silicone joints.
Breakfast average, but interesting because you can see to what extent scrambled eggs can be watered.
The scandalous price for a hotel car park: 65 PLN / day is the equivalent of an average Pole's payday!
We apparently had a standard double room: one double bed, one side table, single wardrobe with broken shelf, dusty blanket with a shoe brush on it, 3 hangers , one chair, broken telephone and broken TV. No space for suitcases, when we opened the holder there was no room to walk.Curtains burnt with cigarettes. Missing plug in the sink. Two bags of flavoured tea and two portions of sugar. No coffee. Iron - in the ironing room for everyone to take turns.
When we wanted to talk to the hotel manager, we were informed that she is at home and not coming. She didn't appear for three days. The stay in this hotel ruined our visit in Kraków.
But having had a room on the main road - ear plugs are essential due to tram and general traffic noise. I did ask to be moved but no options. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The breakfast basic but acceptable with variety of options.
Rooms I would suggest on the park side of the hotel much quieter though. Decor old fashioned but no issues as pictures on site accurate
New bathroom, plenty of space, quiet hotel in excellent position for market square, old town, Ghetto area, and shops, bars, restaurants etc.
Set on a park very pretty hotel.
Very central, right next to Wawel castle.
Nice bar, lovely hotel food at low prices too......
Staff very friendly, so will def return !
