Grand Hotel garners praise for its prime, yet tranquil, location near the main square, with the grand and spacious rooms receiving accolades for their comfort, despite occasional cleanliness oversights. The traditional elegance of the hotel resonates with guests, enhancing its charming atmosphere. While the overall cleanliness and service are celebrated, a few guests have experienced lapses in service. Although the on-site breakfast is deemed pricey by some, the hotel's value is buoyed by its proximity to local dining gems. The comprehensive amenities also contribute to a well-regarded guest experience.

We were a party of six away for the weekend .
On arrival we were shown our rooms and immediately we knew there was a problem as the beds were at best 3/4 doubles and everything was set up for one person .
We went straight to reception to rectify this or upgrade our rooms the girl told us that these were standard doubles and that we could not upgrade as the Hotel was full .
Therefore we felt there was nothing to be done and decided to try to put up with the rooms .
The next day I went to ask for more tea and coffee , whilst doing this Sylvia informed us there was a problem and indeed we were in the wrong rooms as there had been a problem with the booking and had only expected 3 people . I can assure you we didnt forget we were bringing partners . And we all filled out forms when we arrived so was clearly 6 of us .
I explained we had tried to rectify it by changing rooms but with the Hotel being full there was nothing to be done .
Sylvia then informed us that the Hotel was not full at all and manage to find us 3 rooms immediately , bare in mind this was only 9 am so they must have been empty the day before as turn around isnt that fast .
The rooms were much better and far more comfortable then the previous night but we were really made to pay for the privilege .
Where as we really should have paid less due to the uncomfortable night the night before .
My husband and I was lucky as we got a room at the back so wasnt troubled by noise where as the other 2 couples struggled to sleep due to the noise coming from the 24 hour bar directly across the road .
Breakfast was barely adequate and took a long time to replenish hot food .
If you want a good nights sleep then try somewhere else .
Sorry but the Grand really did not live up to expectations .
Praise for Sylvia as she tried her best to help when we encountered a problem with a tour we booked .
Yes its convenient for everything but quality of sleep is very important .
Would we return to Krakow ? In a heart beat .
Would we stay at the Grand ? Most definitely not .

This is a very old hotel but very nice. Rooms all have high ceilings. We had a suite with 2 rooms connected by a sitting area. Not real fancy but very nice. Rooms have armoires (free standing closets) Bathroom was very nice. Breakfast was included and very satisfying every morning.

A short walk to the castle or turn from that direction and walk 5 minutes (10?) and you are in the town square which is beautiful.

We were there end of January and Christmas decorations are out until some religious holiday on Feb. 2nd so it was very festive.

We were there 4 nights, visited Zakopane one day and stopped for vodka nad goat cheese on the way then did the mineral baths after by the ski area.

Visit the salt mine, very much worth the effort. We did not visit the concentration camps because we thought it depressing, but others found it quite a tour.

I stayed here 6 years ago and returned with 5 friends as it is so well located and we were so well looked after by the staff previously. This hotel is 80 metres from the main square, local Polish restaurants in the same street were delicious and such fantastic value if it’s too chilly at markets to eat outside. The hotel is older in style, we loved its grandeur. It is immaculately clean with a wide choice of food for breakfast. What has made this hotel so fantastic is the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. They arranged taxis, luggage, always checking we had all we needed. We celebrated one lady’s birthday requesting from the restaurant manager a reserved table for 6 of us at a busy breakfast time. She truly surpassed expectations. We arrived to a beautifully decorated table, they played happy birthday and our friend was thrilled. Andreja one of the doormen is a sweetheart. He gave us a tour of the old ballroom, lighting up the gorgeous glass ceiling for us to see, did lots of photos by the Christmas tree of us all and treated us like royalty, helping with bags, getting coats on. We had a wonderful stay and this wonderful hotel. Thank you to all at The Grand Hotel, Krakow

The hotel is really beautiful. Staying there with my good friends was like living in a castle. The food was very tasty. In addition to the room, there is a gym, free wi-fi, sauna and much more. The great location and underground parking, where the car is safe, also deserve recognition. I really recommend this place. It is worth paying such money for the stay

GRAND HOTEL KRAKOW
This hotel is really worth staying in it.
First of all, all members of the staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally situated in the old town near Cloth Hall (Sukiennice) with all his bars and restaurants. The hotel is good and very clean. If you have a good room (we had a luxury one) you can sleep without any noise as windows face roofs. I do not know how you sleep in a room facing the street, maybe it would be more noisy. Be aware that climatization works from May only. Conditioning air is not needed only for temperatures but to allow us to sleep comfortably with closed windows in case of outside noise. (Our room was number 27...)

Assortment of breakfast is large and even coffee or orange juices are good whereas in other hotels you have coffee looking like hot water and orange juice is often mixed water. Not in Grand Hotel. The beds are perfect and the bathing room very convenient with enough room to put your belongings.

The old town is surrounded by a green bareer, a little Central Park around it. On the other side of green bareer, you can find many trams to go everywhere although many things can be done on foot. I would not recommend Krakow card as public transportation is cheap and many museums as well. You better pay for what you use. For the public transportation, you can choose language and choose a 20 minutes ticket for zones I, II and III. You can go anywhere with it.

I will recommend this hotel without vacillating and the day we go back to Krakow, we will return to the same one.
You really will enjoy it and Krakow really deserves the visit and not only because it’s near Auschwitz.

We really enjoyed the hotel, our stay, the town and Polish people

This hotel experience was really unpleasant for us. We were kept awake every night due to loud music in the 24 hour bar across the road. We can deal with general noise from the public but having to listen to jungle techno music until 5am is just unacceptable. Nobody wanted to help us and we were denied changing rooms from multiple members of staff. Imagine this from a 5 star hotel??
Hotel doesn’t seem to have a manager either as we couldn’t get in touch with one over the course of our 4 night stay. We had to spend nearly a full day ringing the reception trying to speak to someone to help us. Please stay somewhere else that cares about their guests! This was a really bad experience overall.

We stayed for 3 nights on a business Trip at the grand hotel. Rooms were clean and large enough but the matresses really need changeing soon. They were clean, but quite old and soft. Otherwise, there are no parking place directly at the hotel, they have a guarded place about 5min away by foot. Last Thing, it is located directly in the City Center, where a lot of bars are located too. So it can be noisy outside.

I think it’s the best hotel in Krakow, location wise, situated at the city centre yet not too crowded and not too noise . The service is great . Lastly , I incredibly fell inlove with the classic royal Central European of interior design of hotel . I preferred this kind of style than the modern one if I stay in Krakow.I also love the fact that this place is very historical where many famous people stayed. It added more my trip amazing and memorable. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Wonderfully traditional hotel in Krakow. Immaculate throughout with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very big, and well-furnished with comfortable bed. There is a good range of food available for breakfast and we were offered freshly cooked eggs to our taste every day.
The location is superb being very close to the main square yet just far enough away to be peaceful too.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again when returning to the city.
