My partner and I stayed here for two nights, Firstly I would strongly recommend this place due to its customer service, location and cleanliness.
We booked the one bedroom apartment for £52.00 in total (a bargain) as we had all the things we would have wanted at a 5 or 4 star hotel.

Eric who looked after us was a gentleman and helped us navigate our way through the city with a complimentary map and gave us advice on where to visit.

There is a tram stop outside but it is only a 15 minute walk to Charles Bridge along the river and as you are not right in the middle of the hustle and bustle its perfect to leave and go back to your quiet place of stay.

I will definitely be staying here again if I return back to Prague.

Lovely place, really nice and helpful owner, small but cozy room, really enjoyed my stay. Ideal for a long weekend.
The inn is 10 min walk from river, the neighbourhood has some vietnam restaurants, pivovars and chinese mini supermarkets.

We stayed at the Dahlia Inn for three nights and there were some great things about the place: Mark, the owner/manager (when he is there, which wasn't as much as I would have liked), the decor (minimalist; well planned and executed) and the small size. Guest computer was a nice feature, as was free wi-fi, and the rooms were clean, clean clean.

The location is good, and we enjoyed dining twice at Pivovarsky Dum across the street for typical Czech food. We were lucky to have Czech friends stay with us at the Dahlia Inn and tour us around the city, so we didn't use Mark or his colleagues for this type of service.

The things that I think need improvement to enhance the guests' experience:
- fix that elevator. it clearly has never worked although we were given the impression it was just out of service the weekend we were there
- maintenance of items like the shower stall doors not on our friends shower ?! (for which Mark did reduce their room price, but still....) as well as loose faucet fittings, sewage odour coming from our shower drain (Mark graciously allowed us another room), hand held shower fixture (came apart from hose and water flew all around the bathroom - sort of funny but still...)
- jazz up breakfast a bit. We had breakfast three mornings; one was 30 minutes late (and really, for most people 9:30am is too long to wait for a coffee) and the food was exactly the same each morning... one croissant, one roll, one half raisin bun, tesco yoghurt, same few cereals, same juices. A little variety would be nice and a start at 8am instead of 9am would be better. It's continental, so why not?

I would stay there again in a heartbeat, assuming Mark gets the maintenance issues fixed. The value is really unbeatable.

Stayed here in December 2012.

Facilities
Dahlia Inn is not really a B&B, but has a more boutique hotel. Its room are clean and its design are fasionable. Toilets are always clean and the heater is good. The bed is comfortable and the room has satellite TV.

Location
The hotel is a bit hard to find if you arrive by public transport, however, it is easily accessible once you know orientate yourself with the surrounding. It is just within 15-20 mins walk from Wencelas Square and 20-30 mins walk from the old town.

Tram 22 is just 3 mins walk away, which brings you to the old town, Prague Castle or Andy's laundromat (very good place for self-service laundry with free coffee/tea and wifi).

Whats more, you get a 10% discount if you eat at Alex Bistro, which is 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

Service
As toggenburg has reviewed earlier, you definitely feel comfortable and relaxed here.

However, what truly add value to this hotel is the service attitude of Mark and his staff. Mark is an exceptionally friendly guy who always remind you to call him whenever you want, "be it good or bad".

When we first reached the hotel, the first thing Mark did was not to collect money from us, but to get us to our room to put down our bags, show us around the hotel, and patiently & enthusiastically explain to us where we can go and how we can get around the city by using a map.

Definitely an excellent recommendation to stay for anyone who is traveling to Prague for the first time and looking for a reasonably priced and comfortable place to stay!

We looked at TA first to work out where to stay on our trip to Prague and after seeing how much the hotels charged we found Dahlia Inn. It was one of the best choices we made as we had a the best trip ever. It's easy to find the place, once you actually look at the right roadnames, and it is placed about 10 mins walk away from Wenscelas Sq in the New Town where you have everything you could really want. The room was nice and big and the bathroom was equally big and the best part of it was that there was both a small fridge as well as a small safetybox in the room which were both free of charge. Mark was very helpful both when we arrived but also made sure that if we had any questions during our stay we would know exactly where to find the answers. I can only recommend Dahlia Inn to anyone looking for a place to stay in Prague and don't want to pay too much for the exact same quality as you can get in a 4 star hotel. We didn't try the breakfast as my hubby is very picky but it is possible to order it the day before if you would want to try it.

Starting with a very good location, and the very helpful front desk staff member (perhaps also the owner) who spoke excellent, if not perfect, English (as he'd lived many years in the US), our stay only got better. The room was very spacious, beautifully decorated, a large bed (two twin pushed together), clean bathroom with good shower pressure, quiet room, and excellent recommendations on nearby restaurants; we were very pleased with our stay here.

As an added bonus, we were given a spare room in which to store our baggage after sign out prior to catching our night train. We were also offered towels to shower and clean up later than night when picking up our belongings, which we took advantage of, and were much appreciative of.

We have family members who will be traveling to Prague in the not too distant future, and will be providing them with the Dahlia business card with strict instructions to stay here! I would highly recommend this place.

We arrived in Prague much later than expected and were taken to Dahlia Inn by Prague Airport Transfer (excellent service). Thank goodness our driver knew the city well because we would have had a hard time finding the Inn given the dark street and dark entrance way. Dahlia Inn has a well-lit sign which was helpful. Luckily, our host, Mark, was cheerfully waiting for us with tea or coffee, if desired. He is a wealth of information on must-sees and restaurants in Prague. Our room was at the front on Lipova Street. It was spacious, clean and comfortable, however the street noise was a bit annoying at times (although this would not deter us from staying here again). Mark offered to move us after the second night, but we declined. The bathroom was large and well equipped. The free WiFi was a little sketchy on the first night but improved over our four-night stay. Because Dahlia Inn is very reasonable, it is popular and books up quickly, so reserve early.

The Dahlia Inn staff are fantastic, very helpful and welcoming. I had a fantastic stay - the rooms were spotless, wifi excellent, transport was extremely convenient with a tram situated on the corner and the major train station within walking distance. The owner went out of his way to help me with luggage. Very kind people, would recommend to anybody.

Dahlia Inn is a nice place to stay, it's close to the old part of town, near public transport and has a friendly and helpful staff. Clean, renovated rooms; they offer free tea and coffee 24/7 and (basic but satisfactory) breakfast should you choose to take it. Would recommend the place and would visit again myself.

Firstly, the Dahlia Inn is very well situated with a 10 min downhill walk to Wenceslas Square. It's extremely clean, with large bathroom, comfy bed & the added bonus of having a small fridge in the room. There is an extra charge of 4 Euro, should you require breakfast & I was told that a continental breakfast was delivered by a local cafe. Towards the end of my stay, however, I noticed the table in the lobby was set out with cereals, fruit juice & so on which all looked quite inviting, but by then I had got into the habit of eating out.
This place wouldn't suit everyone as the desk is not staffed 24/7 & as a solo traveller I felt quite isolated arriving home in the evening with no-one in sight & several times found myself wondering if I was the only person staying there. When the reception desk is staffed I must say the people are very friendly & helpful. I did find initially that the wifi was a little erratic but once I was connected it was usually fine.
Would I stay there again? Most likely, as I thought it was very handy to the main sights & public transport & it was pretty good value. Communication prior to my arrival was excellent & you are given the owner's mobile phone number should you require additional assistance at any time.
A word of warning - the taxis waiting at the main rail station ask an exhorbitant fee - CZK350 for a 1.5 km trip ................ I found a young man who drove me to the hotel for half that price, but when the staff arranged a taxi to take me to the station for my trip to Salzburg the firm quoted CZK110, but the driver only asked for 80!

Hello there, sorry for the slight delay getting back to you but this only just popped up in my email today! Our shuttle service/driver only does pickups from the airport unfortunately. I would be careful taking taxis from either the bus station or train stations as they tend to be overcharging crooks. Public transport is easy and take about 15 minutes in total taking the metro to I.P. Pavlova and then either walking down to us or hoping on a tram for one stop. Hope this helps and please feel free to contact me directly in case of any other questions. Mark
