Tillett Hostel is the first and only hostel in the Virgin Islands! We invite you to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Tillett Gardens. Tillett Gardens is a 60+ year old local artists' and business community, started by Jim & Rhoda Tillett in 1959 and is still family owned and operated. The Garden is home to several restaurants hosting Live Music almost every night, art classes, gift shop, Artist's Studios, Live Performance Theater, a salon, and so much more! Staying with us is a true experience of our culture and the opportunity to meet new people and make lifelong friends! We're centrally located Tutu, convenient to grocery, laundro-mat, and right on the local transportation route to get you to some of the best beaches on St. Thomas within 5-10 minutes, and also Red Hook for bar hopping and the ferry to St. John, 20-25 min from downtown Charlotte Amalie/downtown ferry. About 45 min from the airport.

Absolutely love this place. The local artist are amazing Wanda is an amazing artist. Great food by Za Rock and Whiskey business. Our room was perfect. Accommodations to eat and plenty of room to relax after the beach. Plus very close to Coki beach and smith bay. Along with Red Hook. The owners are so nice and accommodating. Loved it.

I am a mature and seasoned traveler and had never stayed in a hostel /guest house until my recent trip to St. Thomas. This place was "Awesome" and the best deal on the entire island. #1. Best staff that you could call 24/7 for what you needed. Mrs. Love and her daughter. These 2 are "Awesome"! #2. Best base location you could ask for on the island - Short distance to Red Hook and the ferry to St. John , right on the 1$ Safari taxi to Magen's & Hull Bay, Charlotte Amalie and all the best beaches. #3 Supplies - Food /department stores, restaurants, shops, gas station, plenty of parking, laundry, banks, pharmacy, etc., etc., etc. all within a block or 2 / short walk for anyone and without being in a busy city setting like. Everything you need! #4 Tillett Community - Not your typical setting. This is a place that has a long history on St. Thomas. The property is an eclectic mix of small shops and eateries along with the the hostel. The biggest factor that separates this place from all the others is that the Owner ( the son of founders ) lives on the property and can been seen everyday over seeing improvements and upkeep of this special place. Where have you ever seen that? The history of the property you can Google yourself. #5 Spaces- They have small dorms with communal spaces that have kitchens, private simple rooms and rooms that rival hotels that have private bathrooms. Not your average hostel this place. #6 Free Best Travel Tips for STT . Have a great time on a dime at the best, safest and most centrally located place to be on STT= The Tillett! Also shoot them them some advice as when I searched this place online I thought it was some camp off the beaten path. Wrong! This is the place and all the guests and locals I have met have been wonderful.

Great stay. Excellent service. And in my opinion, best restaurant in St. Thomas right outside your front door. When I went scuba diving the second day my instructor told me she saw a band play here the previous night. It was then I realized, this place is an established hot spot.

PROS: Shared bathroom was clean and we were the only ones using it, so that was nice. Atmosphere was AWESOME. 2 good restaurants. 1 Bar. Live music. Yoga studio. Lot's of animals for the kids to play with. Staff was AMAZING. CONS: The only con was that the room was not super clean but not super dirty either. It was also very small. Ok for 1-2 adults. Small for our family of 4. Also would have been nice to get a continental breakfast included, as the bakery in the gardens is really expensive for breakfast.
