Updating my 2019 review... There are no new hotels in the area, otherwise I would have tried them. Changes? There has been some maintenance throughout that has improved things. Internet varies. They are attracting large groups business and that is probably helping their ability to handle the property. The free breakfast is not bad, but better on the filipino side. The pool is a popular part of the attraction and families love it. To get your room cleaned you have to advise the front desk. Making the reservation was done through family locally; seemed impossible online? Elevator was not working so lots of exercise climbing the stairs. They dropped names like Presidential Suite etc, which is good because they really can't live up to them. The furniture is tired, and if your room separation is broken, it is just broken with no prospect of them doing anything about it. I'll never understand the management of these places.

I recently visited the Philippines and we took the whole family to northland resort for a day at the pool. The place was big as well as the pool area. There were very few staff but we were the only ones there at the time. The pool price was not bad but the pool itself was very dirty and in need for a cleaning. Overall it was nice to just bring the family but they should do some upkeep on the pool area.

The staff here are all very friendly and there is good entertainment available. The hotel features a bowling alley and billiard tables as well as other games. The pool is beautiful.

As for the rooms, the walls are a little thin and the bathroom fixtures feel a bit on the cheaper side. Air conditioning worked well for us and the price seemed fair for what was available.

Some areas were still under construction. I think that with a few updates, this location can go from OK to very good. It just requires more consistent maintenance and a bit higher quality to get there.

We have decided to choose this place as a venue for a wedding of a member of a family because the pictures of the resort shows that it seems a nice place for a wedding and because we are organising it from abroad, we relied on the pictures and have chosen the place. We arrived the week before the wedding and when we visited the place we are gobsmacked by the lay out of it. We did not realise that on the ground floor of the hotel is a shopping area, meaning if your room is upstairs you have to go past those shops before you reach the pool, no privacy at all! Family rooms are located at the ground floor at the back of the shops which should provide easy access to the pool but unfortunately, it has got a fence around it so, to be able to reach the pool, guests are obliged to go past the parking area and the back of the shops and their food court to reach the pool entrance! Again, no privacy for the guest as people who are eating at the food court are staring at you before you reach the pool.
The staff are very friendly and nice. I think that is the only nice thing in this place.
When my relative has made the payment for the venue the staff has swiped his card two times, charging him twice and it took them two weeks before they can return the money in the bank!
On the day of the wedding they have provided their presidential suite for the bride and her entourage to get ready. It was noontime and very hot, considering that this was their best room the air conditioner does not function properly! We have to ask for electric fans to cool us down!
The worst part happened the night after the wedding, there was total power failure in the area. We have to sleep with no lights and airconditioning on . I have not slept because I have to fan my little daughter all night as she cannot settle . In the morning I found out that some of our family members as been asked to change their rooms to a villa next door that has generator and has electricity. When I asked the desk why have we not been asked they said they asked everybody, I swear I am up all night and nobody has bothered to check on us! Our room is just at the back of their reception desk!!! When I asked for a refund for that night, the manager said that they cannot do it because it was paid already as a package deal!!
Never again I am stepping back in that place.

I stayed in the Presidential Suite because I had extra family to host. I guess I expected a little better. On the positive side, they have absolutely improved their WiFi - connection was perfect, as good as the 5 star I had left in Bacolod. The room was large, with lot of furniture and bedding, and the size worked out well for the family. My complaint is this - this was an ambitious and somewhat decently constructed resort, but the lack of maintenance has sent it backwards quickly. Drop a piece of food on the floor and ants will be all over it, and when you look closer they are near the floor windows, and in the CR hunting for water. Dear Maintenance - work on your insect problems. Also, the room had a nice divider of bamboo slats - well, once upon a time it did. One panel was missing and the one "moveable panel" was smashed off its track and the thing was a shambles. Pity. The courtyard has a nice looking fountain, but I'm guessing it hasn't functioned in years and is now just a catch basin for mosquito larvae. Really, why not throw a few pesos at this kind of problem at your "high end" rooms and get it fixed? And while you're at it, put a fresh coat of paint not the rain-beaten, weathered patio floor up there? Actually, looking at the door to our room, I think some scenario had unfolded where someone couldn't get in the room because the lower portion of the door looked like it had obviously been kicked in. Not very secure. The food vendors in the lower hall serve the local filipinos well, but the flies are really so numerous - really, can something not be done about that? I work hard to remind myself I am way out int he province in this Philippine location, but the effort to stay at the level it should be seems very minimal to me? So, in closing... I would dearly love to be the manager of this resort and I would get my maintenance team in order because this place is taking a horrible slide backwards.

This is located very near to my house. Its like a small shopping centre and resort at the same time. It was built by a brilliant man who was a poor sugarcanefarmer and became a doctor. I believe this attraction was made for the people of Manapla . To boost the tourism and to promote the town from tourist and local visitors. Whenever my cousins get bored and prefer to have a night swimming. We visit this place They got 2 pools and it was made really well. We chose this place to hangout often beacuse its cheap and near - $1/pax. I haven't tried to stay in the hotel but I used to visit often because my cousins owns a shop and a travel agency. The resort's 1st level you will see the food court , small boutiques , a grocery store, a travelling agency and a laboratory diagnostic. On the second floor , they have billiards and bowling centre. There are still lots to improve and hoping it will be sooner.

I was quite a bit surprised that the ground floor of the hotel is a mall with an arcade, food court, supermarket and boutiques. So you might feel awkward dragging your stuff to the elevator (which by the way wasn't working when I was there) up to the lobby of the hotel on the second floor.

The room is quite small and not very clean. The bathroom needs some refreshing.

First day I arrived, I inspected the room, it looked clean and nothing major to complain about.
When I entered the washroom a Giant cockroach greeted me by coming out from behind the towel.
It was so big and beautiful I could not bring myself to kill it, instead we became friends. I tried talking to it, it moved its antennas. But when I approached it, it ran away and hid under the queen bed.
The AC wasn't working well. It looked like it was on it's last breath barely cooling a section of the living room.
Wi-fi was so so... some moments good, some moments non existent.
My first night sleeping there I woke up around 2 am from the heat and saw my friend the cockroach with another having a conversation next to my slippers near the bed.
I let them be.
Next morning I was preparing to go out when I heard a crunch. My girlfriend had just killed my little friend.
That was the most down part of my hotel room experience.
Bed was comfortable.
Pool was fun.
Breakfast in the hotel was delicious.
Location was good also.

I would return but the negative reviews lately are scaring me.

We were staying there for a few days in the family room along with other families. It took them a few days to fix the shower which barely let out water, taking us twice as long to shower. The tap in the shower was also missing its head, slimy floor. We had already been staying there for 3 nights when we found out the lock for the sliding door was broken (fortunately nothing was stolen, let alone our safety was jeopardised).

We stayed here for a vacation but it was horrible. The room was dirty and so too was the bathroom. I think the only positive thing about it is its location which is on the highway and is easily accessible by public transport
