You love ...calm places? ...romantic sunsets? ...relaxing, calming down? ...cooling off in a beautiful pool? Then the perfect place is only minutes away from town proper of San Vicente!!! Our resort is located in Macatumbalen (meaning "The place with many chili" in the local dialect), which is a Sitio of the Barangay Poblacion of San Vicente. It`s only around 3 minutes with the motor bike from nearby town proper, which also offers a bus and van terminal, tourist information, local market and shops. The walking time is also just 15 minutes. The building started in spring 2013 with the water tower after fencing and leveling of the area, followed with the Five apartment construction which was crowned with the swimming pool. Most of the construction offers high German standard, like the electric installations, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping or designing. Since March 2014 the resort is finished to operate, although the enhancements may never end, as we constantly looking for further perfection following our vision. Since January 2015 the electricity is 24 hours and we can offer now also free WiFi for our guests. Our visions main drive is to ensure your stay will be one of the very best! Difficult to add more positive comments to what has already been said by other guests .... Roberto's hospitality was absolutely great, it was really nice to chat with him, spend time laughing and joking together in a such beautiful small resort! A definitely recommended place to stay (consider that for a short swim the best thing is to take advantage of the small but comfortable swimming pool)

Great location that gives you peace and quiet which will definitely give you the sleep quality. The rooms are well placed, and are really clean. The owner Roberto along with his lovely team have a very keen attention to details. Given we stay during the low season, we had the experience of having the place to ourselves. The breakfast was very filling and quite tasty. The rooms have everything, TV, hot and cold shower, toilet bidet and everything one wil need with a fully stocked minibar.

We were looking for a calm stay far from the noisy Tokyo and we found peace at Roberto sunset beach resort. Amazing staff, they take care of you like you are at home. Food is also something incredible with a lot of choice that will please anyone. Roberto can organize island hoping, transportations and give a lot of tips about your stay. The property is located just in front of the beach with a wonderful sunset. The property has only 5 rooms which keep family feeling instead of big resorts... San Vicente is also not touristic, so you feel like the only one in town

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything about it. Very welcoming and clean room + super friendly and helpful staff that fixed everything for us such as transfer from PPS, island hopping tour, scooter rental and good advice on both places to visit here in San Vicente and on onward travel. Would highly recommend this place!! 😊

We honestly didn't know what to expect when we traveled to San Vicente. We knew it would be quieter than El Nido, we knew there would be beaches, and that's about it. From the moment we arrived at Sunset Beach Resort, we knew our next few days would be something really special. We all absolutely fell in love with Roberto, our host. He's such a warm, enthusiastic person, and we all really enjoyed getting to know him. We wish we'd had more time with him! Roberto, you were an inspiration to all of us and we wish you all the best in the future. There were so many things we loved about the resort. First, it's the perfect size. Even if it were at full capacity, it wouldn't feel crowded. The resort sits on a large, quiet beach. It's not a swimming beach, but the water is calm, placid even, making it ideal for sunset viewings. We discovered one night that there are bioluminescent plankton in the water-- so magical! The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and we very much appreciated the good air conditioning system. Each room has a little "front porch" sitting area outside that faces the pool. The pool was great too-- we had wine and watched the sunset right from the pool one night. There is a WiFi zone that's cozy and comfortable. It's right next to the dining/bar area, which is a great place to catch up with friends, chat with other guests, and if you're lucky, connect with Roberto and his wife. The food was amazing, and they had great options for a vegetarian/vegan like myself. I loved the coconut curry so much that I ate it both nights we were there! Roberto was extremely helpful in helping us figure out what we should do with our short time in San Vicente. He wasted no time giving us recommendations, and then arranging an island hopping tour and waterfall hike. It was such a magical experience-- we all wish we had planned to stay in San Vicente with Roberto and his team longer! Finally, I have to give a special shout out to Kika and Brownie, the resident adorable pups of Sunset Beach Resort. Enroute to a long vacation at nearby Bai-Bai Inn Resort at Long Beach, it has piqued my interest why Sunset Beach Resort is named as such. And indeed, it offers one of the most beautiful sunsets in San Vicente. Its owner German engineer, Roberto would quip that "The sun sets better in Sunset Beach." Mouth-watering steaks and pastas are available for guests together with a wide range of choices for drinks. Surely all the right mix to enjoy a relaxing sunset on a picture-perfect vacation.

Roberto is a charming host, simple rooms but very nicely done. Menu also simple but good. We often bought fresh in the market and the girls cooked it for us. The area is remote but has lovely beaches. Bring plenty of cash - ATM is unpredictable. There are money changers in town. Roberto’s beach is cleaned daily although swimming is difficult as the bay is too shallow and has a lot of dry areas at low tide but spectacular sunsets. Really nice beaches for swimming and surfing are all a short tricycle ride away. There are other places you can stay but you would be disappointed I think. Sunset beach is priced well and is the nicest place we saw - we had 8 nights and would have stayed longer if time allowed.

This place is a real gem in the middle of Palawan Island. We were here in 2018 so on this year’s trip to the Philippines we just had to come back for a few days. They had quite an adventurous year prior to our visit with covid restrictions as well as typhoon Odette but being there, you really couldn’t tell that they were struggling just months before our visit. The owner of the place, Roberto took the tourist absence to good use and really improved the resort with additional building serving as isolation room, redesigning the main building on the beach with a small coffee shop like hanging area as well as an overall maintenance around the property and the rooms. Roberto and his staff are so nice and they really make an effort to make you feel like home and to take you to most amazing trips away from the tourist crowds. The food is delicious, there are plenty of choices and the prices are reasonable. We even had pizza night and it was one of the best pizzas I had in a while.
