The drive there is a bit long but once you arrive you feel like home. The location is very tranquil and beautiful and conveniently close to the underground River.

Also it is great to see a resort in plastic Asia actually trying to make a difference and they have implemented a lot of great green initiatives.

Our cottage was very spacious (superior cottage 102) with a big balcony facing the beach front. Amazing view and great place to relax.

Staff was smiling and attentive however sometimes a bit slow in service.

A few improvements to suggest:
- improve breakfast which was not very good and main reason for not giving 5 stars
- have separate menu for lunch and dinner
- make lighting in the cottage more warm and welcoming. All lamps were super bright as spotlights

The Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort is a very established smallish resort, positioned overlooking and adjoining a beautiful beach, suitable for adults and children( under supervision)
Almost all the standalone villas, which comprise 90% of the available accommodation, have private beach access. I would guess the whole development is maybe 30-40 yrs old but is well presented and maintained, by Filipino standards. It’s located in a quiet area, with its own security, meaning you are never bothered by hawkers etc. This is the perfect place in our opinion, if you want to chill out and really experience true Filipino hospitality. The food is really good and the staff especially win you over with their beautiful smiles and genuine interest in you, having a holiday to cherish. The internet was reasonable for the Philippines and sufficient to stream Netflix without a blip! We are an older couple from Melbourne, Australia and had a memorable 5 night chill out! Btw the nearby Underground River is amazing!

People's ideas of Paradise and the best way to spend a birthday differ. For me it's to stay with my dog at a luxury hotel on the beach. If my dog can sit next to me as I write my blogs and shoot and edit my Vlogs even better. If the hotel staff deliver food and cold water to our room and everyone knows the dog's name and greet us with "Magandang Umaga/ Harpoon/ Gabi Chester and Mr Neil, how are you today?" all the better! If they serve a runny yoked egg benedict for 5 mornings in a row even better. Then add trio of ice cream (including ube) , steak and Tuna beautifully marinated, banana fritters and the best Prawn Bouillabaisse I ever taste- then the kitchen team deserves praise. So well done Chef's Paul, Patrick, Maverick and Keno. The receptionists were very helpful, Jimmy took the photos and remembered me from my last stay in 2020. The young hotel graduates in the restaurant (Edmond and Aldrin) were there at all times and Ralphs, Hazelleh , Cherry, Lyra, Shenyl and Abegail did a great job checking us in and out quickly and efficiently and looking after Chester when I had to go to the CR. Best of all, as the hotel was quiet, was being able to take Chester to the restaurant on the last two days, I forgot to get the names of the housekeeping staff and security team but they kept me safe and the room clean ( in spite of all the sand and sea water Chester insisted on bringing in, Thanks to the gardener for clearing up the doggy pooh and finding Chester's favourite toy bone! Best of all I managed to walk 5000 steps each day to the wharf and back, and at Cacaoyan nature park and the Buenavista view deck. I hope it's not too long before we can return again. Thank you.

The location of this hotel is perfect & it is worth the long drive from the airport, & it’s great if you want to do a zip line, and/or visit the underground caves. The reception area is a nice setting & staff are incredibly helpful & polite. The grounds surrounding the cottages are kept immaculate, although some areas could do with a good tidy up, just seems to be a lot of junk laying around. I only ate breakfast here & it was very nice & they do their utmost to accommodate you with any requests you may have. When you first enter your cottage, you will probably think, it’s great, but on closer inspection, it is very tired, & desperately needs renovating, the furnishing are very old, the shutters & windows are not secure, however the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is not very nice at all, the towels are worn & grey, shower has a shower curtain, which was not very clean & they do hold a lot of germs. I would have expected that type of bathroom in a backpacking accommodation, I expected more, considering what you pay to stay here. I think the location sells this place, & the location setting is perfect. The drinks are extortionate & they add an extra tax on drinks as well, so the price you see is not the price you pay ( it does say it at the bottom of the drinks menu) but not many people notice it. So for the sake of walking approx 50-100 yards, where the drinks are less then half that, I would. But that is up to the individual, I spend a lot on travelling, but I also like to save a lot on travelling. The A/C was not working in the gym & I reported it everyday & everyday I was told they would put a different A/C unit in there & they never did, I like to train when I’m away, firstly it is a nice feel good factor & it’s a big part of my job, so I have to keep fit & it was one of the reasons I choose this accommodation. For all my negatives which may have been addressed by now, owing to COVID19 & the hotel being closed. I would still return, but I would try & get a good deal. Stay safe all you travellers

There are only 2 options on this beach and this is the better one. The rooms are lovely and clean with hot water and yo can hear the waves. It is a great beach for swimming and the hotel keeps it tidy. We found the staff very helpful and although a little pricier than trying to organise it yourself they were very helpful in organisinng a trip to the cave and transport to and from the resort.

Unfortunately the food, and the restaurant service let them down. We should have looked at the other options further down the road, fish of the day was salmon flown in from Norway. Such a shame when the sea is just there.

The only other thing was there was some big groups here and they were partying on late into the evening (well after midnight). We asked security to ask the guest to be quiet and they said there was nothing that they could do about it. This went on for both nights of our stay.

This resort promised many amenities on its website with empty and false advertisement. On the website it advertised rooms has Wi-Fi, full open pool bar, many food choices and different menu items everyday. And a private swimming pool for one of its suites that we booked. Instead we got a swimming pool that’s unsafe because of the murky and mosquito infested water. The pool bar wasn’t even open and operational. No Wi-Fi in the rooms except only in the lobby. Most of the food items on the menu they didn’t have. If you’re printing out a new menu every lunch and dinner why would you print and list the foods you don’t even have??? They say they have room service but the phones in the rooms don’t work so we had to place our food order from one of the workers that came to our room ahead of time and for what time. We placed our food order for our specified time but we didn’t get our food two hours later. The drinks we ordered was luke warm and the ice already melted by the time it got to us. Missing dish order and drinks.

We booked our stay for two nights but realizing that our stay wasn’t going to work out. We had ask for a refund for the second evening stay. Let me say this, the workers and front lobby associates were very nice, professional, and helpful. When we had ask to reach out to the manger Mr. Bruce Tan (remember this name) and made him aware of our unhappiness with the false advertisement and how unhappy we were with the lack of amenities it promised on the website. We politely asked to cancel the rest of our second stay and get a refund. He refused and even stopped answering the phone calls. We even ask that we speak to him personally over the phone since he wasn’t on the premise. He refused. Mr. Bruce Tan you’re unprofessional and don’t belong in hospitality line of work. You won’t even take a call and speak to a paying customer about their concerns regarding your resort with amenities you don’t have. Your hard working employees don’t deserve someone like you.

Anyone reading this review I would say stay away from this resort. I would give place a zero star if I could.

The hotel looks very nice and traditional, but rooms needs to be renovated because being seafront the humidity damaged the walls, furniture and rooms smell bad. The food was not so great and maybe too expensive. The beach is great, all the exterior spaces (beach, gardens) are very well maintained. Personal was polite and helpful as much as they could.

Response from Daluyon, General Manager at Daluyon Beach And Mountain Resort
Responded Feb 25, 2020
Hello! Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. Being a beachfront resort, we are well aware of the elements that can cause damage to our amenities. Rest assured that we exert the utmost effort in keeping our amenities in top condition. In fact, it just underwent a major renovation. We are also an eco-friendly destination - we use natural materials and the latest in green technology. As for the food, we take pride in having a well-curated international menu made with premium ingredients and prepared by a dedicated culinary team. We are, after all, a 4-star and multi-awarded hotel and it's only fitting that our amenities, staff, and food reflect this.

Daluyon is located in a best place. Very quiet location and not crowded. The staff are very kind. The foods are very good. The housekeeping must be improved. They clean well the room but they missed always the small details such us changing the used coffee cups, refilling drinking water ( aside that they don't give bottled mineral water ) refilling coffee and sugar. For the price of this hotel ,related to service and quality s not acceptable.

Everything was perfect. Starting from check-in, extremely polite and courteous reception, we got an upgraded room.
The room very spacious, with efficient AC, separate toilet and shower. Very clean and well maintained. Water pressure including hot and cold water very good.
Beds and linen nice and comfy.
The garden around is well maintained.
The pool is 1.8 m at deep end and most of the time just for you.
The beach is a top class. Golden sand, gentle slope of the seabed, no strong currents, ideal for swimming, paddle boarding. Beautiful combination of the sea and mountain view. An all this practically just for you. The beach is secluded. Only two of us on this piece of paradise.
Food and service very good.
Overall, the best experience during our holiday in the Philippines. We visited many places in the country - Bohol, Panglao, Boracay, Siqijor, Cebu, Bantayan, Coron, El Nido and many others, but this is the only place where we would like to return for sure.

Attractive room. Did not provide slippers which is unusual. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms only the reception area. There was a nice jug of drinking water in the room and little sachets of fresh coffee which was a nice touch. The shutters are attractive but then there is glass so i could not open a window so had to keep the AC on which was a pity as is nice right by the sea to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. The restaurant served excellent food and service was fast and friendly

Hello Tillie, you can find different options to book for tours walking along the beach, and in the town proper. It is easy to find as it really is only one street along the beach once you exit the resort to your left. There are multiple options.

Sorry if this answer is late but maybe it will also help others. If you want to save some $ like we did, we walked across the street from the airport exit and took a trishaw/tricycle to go to the San Jose terminal then took the shared ride Lexxus shuttle to Sabang if you don’t mind sharing the van with several people, mostly locals. Once you get to Sabang, it’s an easy walk from the Lexxus office to the resort (small dirt lane along the beach).
