Located on the exquisite Mangsit beachfront, the newly-opened Katamaran Resort offers a tropical dream and naturally a paradise which has just got closer. The pristine ocean, lush landscape and stunning Mount Agung sunset view is a sanctuary escape from reality to a world of tranquility and inspiration in the island of Lombok. Drop off at the lobby and you will be welcomed with the grand portrait-esque view in which the ocean meets the sky and drifts into infinity. Now look back for a second and the mountains will give you a warm green hug. The lobby – surrounded by a two-level pond – is designed as an all open concept with the aspiration of blending the resort in the midst of nature. The interior use of natural materials such as local woods and stones contrasting with exposed steel structure exhibits a twist of contemporary yet industrial design. Approximately one hour from Lombok International Airport and 15 minutes from the boat pier to the Gilis and Bali, Katamaran Resort featur

Stayed 5 nights at the Katamaran with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. From our airport pickup to check in, all of the staff, restaurants and pools, it was a 5 star experience. We had great rooms facing the sea in what is a fantastic location looking towards Bali. So relaxing!

Outdoor bathroom, but turn it on too much and the water splashes too far.
Stormfever is right that there is not much nightlife, although we were there not long after the earthquakes so quieter than usual and some places closed.Taxis are fairly cheap and its not far to other resorts either, try the restaurants at Quinci for a fabulous meal at any of their eateries. Just chill out and enjoy the amazing views!

@Renee B - Katamaran is in Mangsit beach and is a quick cab ride down to the township of Senggigi. You'll find your basic shopping needs in a few local stores as well as the Mini-mart/Alfamarts. Bayan Lombok is a great store and have a range of local goods if you're interested in bringing small gifts back home. You'll find live music at either The Paragon, Happy Cafe, Marina Bar and Pappaya cafe. Lots of warungs and restaurants for you to choose from as well.

Yes there is lots to do in Lombok! You can take a 10min taxi to the heart of Senggigi beach or explore the island. On our trip we did the elephant park, snorkeling on the Gili islands, waterfall hike, and river tubing. If you'd like to do more of the adventure, you will have to travel further (1-1.5hrs). But I would say from my research, for this class of hotel, that is standard. Hope this helps!

Part of the hotel was under construction when we were there in September and we were given ocean view suites. They are 100% open for business and it is safe to stay there. Youll definitely enjoy your stay there.

Hi, we were there end of September. We had no problems. The hotel fumigates quite often so you'll hardly see any mosquitos. Parts of the hotel were still under construction, so a bit of noise from the building works. We did feel one or two aftershocks, but it was nothing to fear. We enjoyed our stay. Only difficulty we had was finding restaurants with vegetarian food as a lot of them were still reopening along the sengiggi beach area. Hope that helps!
