Perched at the top of a promontory, this house offers an incredible view. Very good reception and welcome at the end of this km of track. Very original room with a small terrace/balcony overlooking Agoulzi. Lots of taste and innovation in the construction and layout of the site, the floor of the room is inlaid with small logs of wood for example.
Very good meal cooked by the wife and served in Berber attire by the younger sister with great kindness and discretion.
Unforgettable memory of charming and thoughtful people

It was our second visit. I am sure others will follow. The location is great, the view over the M‘Goun valley is fantastic, the cooking is wonderful, and the family running the guesthouse us very charming. On top Ahmed arranged a 5-day-trekking up the Oued M‘Goun passing Gorges de M‘Goun up to Taghreft. Guide, muletier and cook were professional and experienced, and the trek was safe every second. It‘s a good place to relax and a good possibility to arrange an Atlas Trek if you want to avoid big and expensive companies.

Okay, it‘s an earth road, like many roads in Morocco, and not a highway. But we did it with our small Peugeot 208 without any problems - depends on the drivers experience. And that the Dar is not at the main road - what a surprise! When you look on the map you see the location. So all in all Dar Timitar is a wonderful place for people with some flexibility but nothing for all-inclusive-travelers. Enjoy it.

I stayed here as part of a group tour and felt like I was a burden. The road is windy with sheer drops at times and takes at least 10-15 minutes from the main road. To go into the eating room you are supposed to remove your shoes but you are already in the room before you see the sign and then it’s only if you look for it. The food was fairly good - cooked by the wife and she did what she could to make us feel welcome. The husband could not have been less interested to have us there. The view is absolutely amazing but that really is the best of it. I would stay elsewhere.

This is what you call a hotel with a view :) (see top right of the photo). We had a spacious room overlooking the valley with a balcony and lots of atmosphere. Good breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace overlooking the valley. And the host helps you with helping you to organize your DIY treks.
We simply loved the place!

+1
We can´t praise Dar Timitar highly enough : the most spectacular location I have ever seen, high above the valley
you´ll feel like overlooking the world.
A rich breakfast ( mostly organic products ) is served on the vast terrace.
Our room was really huge with super comfortable beds, large bathroom & very nicely decorated.
To top it off : with private wide balcony, again overlooking this magical valley.
Dinner was amazing, all freshly prepared in a romantic setting.
The host is just perfect, super friendly & so helpful.
We definately recommend Dar Timitar to any traveller, it leaves a long lasting impression !

This is a beautiful family run guest house in a stunning location. We spent two weeks using Dar Timitar as a base from which to visit the Sahara desert and the valley of the roses. Ahmed organised our trips to the sand dunes and the mountains with great care, which was really helpful as we were travelling with small children. We felt very welcomed and looked after by Ahmed and his family while we were there. The food was lovely, and having breakfast on the terrace with the sun shining on the mountains is not something we will quickly forget. We would definitely recommend Dar timitar to anyone thinking of a trip to Morocco.

Although the address shows as El Kelaa M'gouna, Dar Timitar is in Tabarkhacht, about 15 k out of town and at the end of a 2 km piste. It's a little like the Bates Motel - Moroccan style! The views are tremendous, but the winds were very strong and you fell like you are going to be blown off the hilltop. We had booked an authentic Moroccan room but were placed in the "new section" which was larger but without any character except for the rock wall above the bed. The balcony looked out over the glorious "Valley of the Roses" but Dar Timitar was not quite as advertised. We also took the advice of the staff and headed off to the Dades Valley on a track that didn't show up on any maps and resulted in some damage to the car we were driving. However, we noted our displeasure to the management and our bill was reduced to 50%, so they understand trying to please guests.

This hotel is amazing, perched right at the top of a cliff with views of the Atlas mountains in the distance, rocky hills in the foreground and the beautiful green oasis of the Roses valley below. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious, served in a comfortable dining room with lots of rugs, or out on the sun terrace. The room was large and comfortable and the hotel has a very peaceful ambience. The Roses valley is unspoilt and interesting to visit, with many kasbahs and lovely rock formations. We visited in a very small car and the road to the hotel was no problem.

If You would like to stay for some time in unique place - this country house is for You. It stays alone on the hill. Incredible view from that hill to valley, silence, fresh weather, cute room, lovely atmosphere - are our impressions. Even burned tajine, we've got, does not impact our very good opinion about this little hotel.
