Forrester Court was a lovely place to be - we valued the gorgeous views from the cliff top perspective, and our very well equipped, comfortable home, where we had all the equipment/mod cons we needed. We appreciated being met at the airport and given a quick orientation tour before we began exploring the island ourselves, in the car that was provided for our use. The island is expensive, because of its remoteness, and this is reflected in the costs of this accommodation. Access to Forrester's Court is via some amazingly potholed, albeit short, stretches of the island's roads - but nowhere is far away on Norfolk, and we liked the retreat-like location. The island is a fascinating place to visit in so many ways, historically and culturally, and we warmly recommend the personalised half day tour with resident Rachel Nebauer as a starting place.

We stayed at the Clifftop Cottage and the view was absolutely beautiful. The location gives you the feel of seclusion and tranquility. (you will need a car to get about, as the cottage is a fair hike from the village center - but not to worry, the car hire is included in the price of your stay) A breakfast hamper was provided and top-ups were not a problem if we ran out of anything. The cottage feels modern, open and bright - just a delight to stay in, and we did not want to leave the cottage to go explore the island as our view was just perfect! (but we did, Norfolk Island is a hidden treasure that needs to be explored). Ariane, our host was lovely to deal with and is a wealth of knowledge and information. We received a quick tour of the Island after Ariane picked us up from the airport and was only to happy to help out in any way we needed. This Clifftop Cottage is a must stay if you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, this stay is a treat for the soul....why not, you only live once!

The Clifftop Cottages at Forrester Court are an absolute treasure find! Located in a beautiful, wooded clifftop location, it is peaceful location with beautiful views if the coastline is breath taking. Our verandah was at close to woodland canopy that was alive with small birds and beautiful white terns who as interested in us as we were interested in them. The accommodation was both comfortable and tastefully furnished, including binoculars to view the birds and the activity on the pier below with crane lifting boats in and out of the water, and unloading the tenders from the delivery tanker. Fascinating and hours of fun. i would go back at the drop of our hat. Our hostess Arienne was helpful and gracious and even organized a car for our arrival and use for the week. P.S. mind the potholes and do the Norfolk shuffle! :)

We had a lovely time staying in the Gazebo cottage overlooking Cascade Pier. Very well appointed with everything one would need for a stay of 7 nights. Without being obtrusive Ariane was readily available to help if needed. We had issues with TV and Foxtel but that is more of an Island thing than being specific to Forrester Court. In any event Norfolk is not about TV! The property is about a 7 or 8 minute drive to both the township and Kingston historical area but getting anywhere on Norfolk isn't a problem with a car, which is included in the tariff by the way. We did the High Tea on Sunday which was very good. A lovely week celebrating my 80th.

We were lucky to be able to experience high tea at Forresters Court. What an amazing place an experience. The setting is stunning and the food is the perfect accompaniment. The menu for the high tea was a perfect taste of the best of high tea, served with a glass of champagne to commence and then a refreshing cup of tea of your choice. The service was brilliant and the experience is one we will remember for a long time. The food served was outstanding and something that you could be getting served in the best restaurants around the world, but you are in the most amazing clifftop location. Given the additional challenged of COVID isolations etc on staffing I particularly congratulate the staff on the range of food that they served.

We were suitably impressed with views over Cascade. Owner Ariane said promised phone appeared to be out of credit but we could buy some (!!) from town. Office in town said the number had expired months ago - last credit applied in January. Advertised midstay clean never eventuated. No ice in freezer no handwash in bathroom container. TV in bedrooms not working "electrician coming Wednesday" - never happened. Toaster/Microwave broken. More attention to detail required in a property promising/charging so much.

We stayed at the Gazebo for a week. With views to eternity and a massive warm living space with a wide verandah, it epitomizes tranquility meets luxury. Arrian, our host was lovely and friendly and left us a food basket for the week. We only had to stock up once or twice. I only cooked once, and the kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with extra little things. Close to everything on this little Island, the included SUV was more than adequate to negotiate the dirt lane into the property. The Gazebo was a welcoming haven after we adventured the wonderful Norfolk Island attractions and sights from coast to coast. And did I mention the views? Well worth the extra to spend at this little slice of heaven.

The setting of the High Tea was beautiful and we were fortunate the weather was kind. The tables were beautifully set and the food was as expected for a High Tea. Unfortunately one of party cannot drink alcohol and when we asked for a non-alcoholic beverage instead of champagne he was told “ there is water on the table and tea later”. So for $110 a head the non drinker had tepid water and tea to drink. We found it unbelievable that a facility that advertises “ Weddings ” and “In House Dining” would have no non-alcoholic beverage available.

Response from Ariane Forrester, Owner at Forrester Court Clifftop Cottages
Responded Apr 3, 2022
Hello Margaret, I am sorry to hear that one of our staff didn't have a non-alcoholic alternative for one of your parties. I wish you would have mentioned this on the day when I made my table rounds and asked everyone if everything was okay. Had you bought this to my attention I could have presented this person with a special something not on the menu as an apology. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the 12 courses on our beautifully set tables at our iconic Norfolk Island location. Kind regards Ariane

Stayed for a week in the Gazebo. Listening to the sea at night was one of the highlights. Cottage had everything you needed with a Breakfast Basket that was ample for the week and a car included which is a must have. Enjoyed High Tea and Ariane does an exceptional job especially with the challenges of finding ingredients and is high class. Would not hesitate to recommend Forrester’s Court it really was such a relaxing getaway with exceptional accommodation, views and hosts.

The High Tea at Forrester Court on Norfolk Island is a heavenly experience in which diners are perched on a cliff top almost touching the clouds, breathing in the pristine surrounds. The food is absolutely divine presented immaculately and served with warmth and genuine care by Ariana. In short, the High Tea at Forrester Court is a must do for all visitors. Ariana is only too happy to tweak the visit for special occasions, and for us it was my mum’s 80th birthday. The experience was intoxicating and one which will forever remain etched in our memories.
