The affordable rooms are very nice with comfortable beds. Mine had lots of shelves. Nice to have a kettle which seems lacking many places these days. Lots of soft towels and a great shower!
The house to the left acts as the office. Ring the bell there if Rob doesn’t notice your arrival. Exceeded our expectations. Would stay there again.
Check out Nick’s Restaurant in nearby Prescott for good home-cooked meals -Greek, Italian and Canadian.
Location is great it's only a couple of km off of the 401, near the exit to 416 (Ottawa), down by the St Lawrence near the bridge to the US.
The new owners were very friendly and helpful, and are definitely making an effort to fix the place up. We were able to check in early, on our way to Montreal, without any issues. We were given our choice of 2 rooms, and chose the more modern decor, although both rooms were very clean and both looked recently painted. Loved the decor in our room, very bright and cheerful - seemed like staying at a friends house and not a formal hotel room. Our room had a comfortable queen bed, 2 easy chairs (also comfortable), small fridge, microwave and kettle. Bathroom was small and only had a shower, which wasn't an issue for us, but may be for some.
Only thing missing would be a couple of larger glasses, as they only provided 2 small cappucino cups. Also it took us a little while to discover that the ceiling light/fan was controlled by the dial on the wall.
As mentioned the location is very close to the 401, but if you have the time take the drive down CR 2 along the river, through Prescott and Maitland, the countryside is gorgeous.
We would definitely stay here again
Nice surrounding area beside the river!Would have love to stay one more night after all the big cities stress on our trip. ( New York-Boston-Montreal-Toronto )
The water is not nice to drink though - bring your own ! The Wifi was weak in my room - ok for email but not much else.
And if travelling with dogs - they are welcome but there is a fee and no where to let them run off leash. Lovely view of the bridge across the St Lawrence river from the front of the motel.
