This hotel is cute on the outside. The room was large and pretty clean, but looked like a room one would get in a third world country. Very basic and simple, unattractive. We were charged 235 euros! It was one of the few rooms left on the island on the night we were coming, so they really ripped us off. We found out later it normally rents for 40 euros! Now that would be fair. Internet didn't work either.
The position is great. A few steps from the beach Guitcia which is very comfortable. On the other hand, the room was old. The bathroom even worst. I suggest a renewal of the rooms. Breakfast was average. Nothing special. A good point was the kindness of people at the reception. They will pick you and will leave you where needed when you have to leave.
I had one of the cheaper rooms and it was so small I could hardly open my small suitcase. Also had no balcony. But the bed was big, it was clean, had good free WIFI and good water pressure. The plumbing was not the best (like in many Sicilian hotels) but I had all I needed. Air con, TV, and a small fridge. The hotel is in a super quiet location just off the central harbor point. They don’t respond to emails if you are booking via a third party site but two days before your arrival you’ll get an email asking if you need an airport transfer and telling you where yo forward the email. It’s in Italian but you can respond using Google Translate. No one responded to my email and I also had an Italian speaker call to make sure. All went well and transfers are free. (Note: there is no formal taxi service on the island. The hotels all work with men with vans so you need to arrange a transfer before arriving at the airport). The Michelin Star restaurant in the hotel dining room is great. But breakfast is poor and the fellow who manages it is very unhelpful and surly. The hotel has a nice Arabic architecture courtyard feel. I really appreciated the beach towel in the room and the clothes dryers outside for hanging up bathing suits. Maria Christina, one of the receptionists, speaks great English and is super positive and helpful. I enjoyed my stay here.…
It's unusual for a 3-star hotel to be special, but this place has 3 terrific things going for it: 1. It's on the marina AND just around the corner from the best swimming beach on the island AND walking distance to old town and great restaurants; 2. Ristorante Gemelli, one of only 4 Michelin-starred restaurants on the island, is DOWNSTAIRS! And hotel guests have priority when booking tables! Score! 3. Front desk employee Maria Christina speaks English and will make your stay warm and special. I don't know what I would have done without her. :) Thank you for a lovely stay.
It is located only in walking distance to Guitgia beach. If you want to go to a good cafe you just have to walk about 5 minutes to the left side. To a good restaurant? Just walk a few seconds to the left. They provide a free pick-up and delivery to the airport. The room is nice with a balcony. And so quiet. Unfortunately the breakfast is poor and the employees could not speak English. And we found that to reserve a scooter before we arrived was a bit useless because they haven't prepared the scooter until we were there and asked (again) directly. Then the process starts from the beginning, they call the rental company and waiting then waiting then waiting. However, the price that they offered was cheaper then the normal rate. It is way cheaper to pay before you arrive, I think.…
