Perfect location for a break in Hämeenlinna. Very central for shops, great staff and food. The bar staff were very welcoming and looked after use well. We had amazing food in the restaurant both at breakfast and in the evening. The pool and Sauna were great for relaxing
The hotel could use a face-lift. Nothing wrong but a bit of wear and tear everywhere. Solid brekky though, good service and very central location. Our visit was during a heatwave but we could not find a way to get the aircon any cooler. Felt like 30 degrees
Although the decor is outdated, I am giving five stars to this centrally located hotel. The hotel is an old Cumulus hotel and the room decor is from that era. However, the rooms are very practical. Cumulus did a good job with the practicality. We booked a Superior Plus room that is like a Suite with a separate living room and bedroom. The only Superior Plus room is a very spacious corner room. The breakfast was pleasantly calm and had a good selection of food. The reception staff was very friendly. Our stay had excellent value for 104 euros.
Quiet and clean hotel, good breakfast. The waitress who served in the pub in the evening has the right attitude and service! The room would have had a nice weather with air conditioning cooler. Location in the city center good.
Advantages : -Hotel staff is great. They smile and helpful. -Breakfast is perfect. Eggs (stated as free range) cheeses, breads, vegetables, etc. - Location is close to the bus station (walking 10 minutes) - Room space is good especially if have a baby. Disadvantages - Heating is a problem. First night it was cold. Then i talked w/ reception and she came to check and told me that radiator valve should be in position 3. Rest of days room was warmer but still not in comfort cooling. - No kettle (water heater) in the room. - No minibar at the room. If there will be a second visit to Hameenlinna, i would definitely choice this hotel as long as they kept same (except heating)
This is one of the hotels re-branded to Scandic after the merger. That's a pity! No Scandic feeling at all here. Dated rooms, no full selection of choices at breakfast, staff not attentive at all, even rude. Nevertheless, everything worked in the room and it was quiet and bed quality decent.
Quite all right very centrally located hotel, would give it 3.5 stars if possible in Tripadvisor. Review based on a two night stay in September (background of spending 80+ nights per year in different hotels around the globe). Location: Well located in the immediate city center along the pedestrian zone. A walking distance to almost all the main sights, restaurants and bars Hameenlinna has to offer. Easy access from/to E12 highway, distance to the railway station is a bit over 1km. Room: We got a basic room at 4th floor. The room was quite OK sized, not the biggest I’ve seen but certainly enough for us. Room had been renovated not too long ago, especially the bathroom has been completely renewed. Décor was quite simple, not traditional but not very modernistic either. Room had the normal equipment, such as LCD TV and minibar. There were some signs of usage in the room, nothing major though. Some sounds from the corridor and other rooms, nothing much from the street. Etc: Check-in & out was very efficient. Breakfast had a rather large variety of both warm and cold offerings. So certainly enough to get the day started. Would I return there? Yes, why not. Though it was not really luxurious as such, there was nothing really wrong either…
Very nice location in the heart of the city. The staff was attentive and caring. The breakfast buffet was great as it had nice selection of food for every one. I can recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Hameenlinna.
Average accommodation cost for a standard double room: 145 euros. Our room was incredibly hot even with 2 fans. One bed side table was missing. It was not possible to contact the reception from our room because there was no telephone or tablet. The double bed was very small (140 cm wide) with an uncomfortable and extremely soft mattress, and moreover it had been made up with 2 single bed sheets on top of each other instead of a double bed sheet. The bed sheets had holes and stains. The elevator was extremely noisy and could be heard inside our room day and night without stopping, Minibar was not working properly and drinks inside were warm. Breakfast buffet was quite poor.
This hotel is a former Cumulus Hotel and it shows especially in the room decor and furniture. We booked the only Superior Plus room for a senior rate of 134 euros. Superior Plus is the best room category in this hotel. The room was very spacious with separate living and bedrooms. It was quite functional. A sofa table would have made it more functional. The bathroom looked fresh and new. So it has been recently renovated. Otherwise, the room was in its original Cumulus condition. The overall appearance of the public spaces was quite tired. The reception staff was very friendly. The breakfast was a quite average Scandic breakfast. Some more effort would be needed to clean the tables. However, everything worked and there were no bigger problems.
