Couldn’t have been nicer. Stayed for 6 night with my 2 grandsons, aged 3 and 5. Everyone was lovely and made us feel welcome, from the housekeepers, to the waitresses and reception. The ladies who serve breakfast deserve a special mention- absolutely divine, great service with a smile and a chat. Foods great, beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing! Will definitely be back

Rolled up late Saturday afternoon continuing on our way to Perth. Stayed for the one night. The best thing about this room - powerpoints everywhere. I love that they cater for people with a million electronic devices in this modern age ! Had dinner in the adjoining bistro - the Lamb Curry platter and Chicken Caesar salad. Food was really nice washed down with a couple of beers to end the day. The place was pretty quiet, even though there was bunch of blokes from a road gang staying as well. Didn't hear any noise at all, so slept very well. The town is pretty laidback. Not sure there's a whole lot to do for a longer stay but perfectly acceptable for an overnighter on a long journey.

Booked an Executive room via their website, which showed a room with a view over the water for $185. When I got to my room #59, the view was over a car park. It was also a disabled unit. I just assumed it was the only room left. But I was very disappointed. To rub salt into the wound, at around 9:30pm loud music started that went on until midnight. I worked out that rooms 57-59 have the same car park view and are located above the sports bar. Do not make the same mistake and stay in these rooms, demand any other Exec room, because they all have water front views and are on top of the bistro, which closes around 9pm - so no noise!

Room Tip: Any room but #59. Probably #57 and #58 are just as bad.

Ceduna Foreshore has all the trappings of five star hotel but the service standard falls far short. It was a tortuous route to my room and some 125 steps from reception but there was no offer of assistance just a finger stabbed at a plan of the place. There was no “do not disturb” in my room and twice I was called to a tap at my door. Firstly, I was greeted by “Oh, I thought you’d gone”. The second offender was a staff member looking for her colleague; not only was there no apology but she continued her search by bellowing down the passageway. Breakfast was a bowl and utensils thrust at you and the direction of the buffet indicated by a jerk of the head. When approaching the buffet beware of passing staff dragging their vacuum cleaners behind them. Staff training in hospitality needs to be given priority.

Whilst on our Eyre Peninsula road trip we stayed a few nights in Ceduna and had a couple of very good meals at the pub. There was a nice community atmosphere and plenty of friendly staff to serve. Good wine selection and cold beer. The food was very good and lots to choose from on the extensive menu. I want to mention Sharon as a stand out staff member working in the dinning area. She was efficient, friendly and hard working , an asset to the business. Stop in for a great meal and beautiful sunsets.
