A rushed trip so a budget stay, I couldn't be happier with the service, politeness, quietness, and spick and span cleanness of our unit. The manager and his wife were very polite and helpful even though we arrived late.

I stayed at this motel for a week on my travels through NSW, and would definitely stay again. Bob and his wife were very accommodating and knowledgeable of the Hunter region. We stayed in one of the front rooms, but hardly heard any noise during the night, even with the windows slightly open, despite the motel being on the main road into Cessnock. Although you can easily drive past and miss it as the motel and its car park are set back from view. The room itself was standard for a motel room - comfy bed, Aircon, small bar fridge, kettle, tea/coffee, good size shower, and a good size desk to work from. Internet access was also good, and they do have WiFi available. Only downside most people would see is that there isn't much in walking distance, so you'll need to drive. The main centre of Cessnock is 5mins up the road, with supermarkets and restaurants around. Pokolbin is about 11kms up the road, an easy drive, where you'll find all the wineries - sone of which have restaurants also. If I was coming back to the Hunter Valley again in the future, I'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed a couple of nights in the new year (2 and 3 Jan, 2020). This I would deem as budget accommodation $85 - $110 / night ( weekday/weekend rates) Management and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms, tho on the smaller side, were clean and tidy. Would happily stay here again

Small but scrupulously clean hotel rooms. If all you are after is a place to sleep, as I was, and don’t need all the bells and whistles, then I can recommend this place. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and I had a good nights sleep!

There was nothing wrong with my stay, the lady at reception was curteous and efficient but not personable or warm when greeting you. The room was clean and tidy though not very large, the bed was relatively comfortable but I found the pillows to be like a plank of wood. The room and the part of the Motel I was in was old in design and you could tell, it just felt 'tired', well used but not neccessarily run down. The room was very quiet though there weren't many people staying so that could change. I gave it an average rating as that's what it is......average. The price for a room is what actually makes it reasonable as I've stayed in more expensive places that are shown up by this older property in need of some attention. Underwhelming is a word that springs to mind when trying to describe this place.

The staff was friendly and helpful and made our stay the best. Daily cleaning of rooms, Good atmosphere and a nice spot away from the main city. Liked the place very much and would recommend anyone. The price is economical and value for money.

I could not recommend this place. The room was dirty, carpets stained with something of a red origin, paint and plaster crumbling off the wall. It was dated and seems unlikely any changes since opened decades ago. It looks better from the outside. It was expensive the night we stayed possibly as there was an event in the Hunter Valley that night. Even if appears a bargain I could not recommend.

From the moment you walk through the front door the musty, dank smell hits the nostrils. So disappointing for an establishment that could offer so much more. It is easy to see that nil customer satisfaction is part of their mantra. Just rake in the dollars and when a concert event is on rake in even more dollars for no change in facilities provided. Room rate goes from $80 per night to $170 per night. It must have been a monastery or similar as no room has direct access to the outside. Dark rooms and no lighting in public areas. One lousy microwave is provided in a common area with a reading light providing the only illumination to read the controls. Air conditioning in the public areas is never switched on which only raises the musty smell of the place. Very small rooms. To the operators credit, the rooms were clean and tidy and daily service was provided, however this did not compensate for all the shortcomings.

Sure this is a budget motel but there is nothing wrong with that. If you are on a budget then stay here and save your money to spend at the wineries. The place is dated, or has character if you prefer, and could do with a makeover but it's clean, safe and comfy, everything you need for a good night sleep. The only issue I had was the height of the shower head, it was a bit on the low side, nothing ridiculous but would have been better if it was a bit higher. Comfy double bed and 2 singles for the kids, was ideal for us. We were in the Hunter for the Xmas lights and the location was great, just a short drive from the shops in Cessnock and about 10-15 mins from the gardens. No hesitation in recommending this place and would stay here again.
