Simply the best! My original review three years ago, and I will still say this is the best place to be in Costa Rica!! This hotel is super clean and very COVID compliant. Safety and customer service are their main priorities. Excellent Service I've been to this hotel over 20 times for business. From the front desk staff (thanks Max for always helping us out) to all the great servers and all hotel staff, you can tell Customer Service is their priority!!! Early mornings you will see everyone working so hard cleaning and preparing for the day ahead. The servers in all of their restaurants are amazing, courteous, professional but most of all friendly. I highly recommend this hotel to those traveling for both business and pleasure. I would also like to recommend getting a massage from @5hanniam. Hannia is AMAZING. If you walk towards the beach she is usually on the left side, by the trees. Hannia and her assistant Carla will give you the best professional massage on the beach in one of their beach huts. Much better than the hotel spa can offer and for half the price!! Anyone going here should definitely seek her out and book an appointment. (506) 85782206 she's on Whatsapp and works 6 days a week starting at 6am Getting a deep tissue massage with the sounds of the beach, wind and birds, was unique and extra relaxing. Perfect ending to a fantastic trip. Thank you for everything you do and see you again soon!!

This is a beautiful all inclusive resort. My fiancée had a long layover in Costa Rica and invited me to tag along. The hotel has everything! Delicious food, drinks, pools, nightly entertainment, shopping and even a water park. There is a beautiful, private beach. Crew rates are available along with Hotel/ Airport pickup/drop off. As I was leaving the hotel mentioned on site covid testing plus free hotel nights if anyone in your party needs to stay longer due to a positive result. It's the perfect getaway!

My experience with the Riu Palace was a very positive one. From first point of contact (Jordi at the front desk), everyone was gracious and accommodating. I see the negative reviews - there are a couple of truths here: 1) People drop a lot of money for their stay and have buyer's remorse. This can always happen no matter if we're talking about a vacation or a beautiful new car. It shouldn't taint the experience 2) Resorts have to tread a very fine line now - half of guests are cranky that they have to mask up, never touch a plate or a buffet pastry, etc. People who are traveling are already accepting of a number of risks. And of course the other half will complain that someone is swimming in the pool without double-masking. Go, follow the rules, and live within and accept the rules, you'll be a lot happier folks 3) I didn't see a lot of tipping or gratitude towards the service staff. I tip small but consistently, and tried to greet everyone as an equal and with friendliness and thankfulness. This goes a long way - the servers remembered my name, what I wanted to drink, how long I was staying, etc. I felt very welcome, and it pays to show just a little kindsness, both personally & financially - these workers are servers, not servants, and guests would be well served to remember that. Yes, my room had a slightly musty smell - if you're very sensitive to this maybe find someplace else. Second, my AC froze me out of the room the first night, I soon learned to turn that sucker down and use the extra blanket! That is the extent of my quibbles with this place. > The entertainment was a pleasure to listen to, there was a variety each night of the week, from Metallica covers to kids songs, a variety of instruments, dances, everything. Again, the employees work hard to put these productions together and I thought they were great > The restaurants were a little hit or miss. Don't get a steak - enjoy everything else. I had some of the best duck I've ever had for example - it was incredibly good. > The desserts. YES > Always interesting to me how the beach is so much less interesting to tourists than the pools. For me the beach, albeit not a great beach, is still a wonderful attraction. There's a small secluded beach just to the South that, although difficult to reach, was an amazing experience to see early one morning at low tide. Highly recommend if you're agile enough to make it there > I needed some maintenance, they were to the room within 5 minutes. I've never experienced this at a resort this size > The internet was surprisingly good, I had a few (very few) connection drops but in general it was fast and reliable (fast enough to support video streaming in fact) Overall I would recommend Riu for anyone who enjoys all-inclusive resorts in general, and maybe isn't too particular about obsessing about a little negative here and there.

I had an amazing trip to Costa Rica. Everyone at the Riu was gracious and attentive. They sanitized daily and were very Covid compliant. I was actually impressed by how diligent they were at maintaining covid regulations. I have nothing but great things to say about this resort however, my purpose of this email is to recommend getting a massage from @5hanniam . Hannia was AMAZING. If you walk towards the beach there are many street vendors that will set you up with jet skis, souvenirs, etc. There are also ladies offering Massage. At first I was skeptical but a guest I met at the hotel had a massage at the hotel spa as well as, the a lady on the beach. She RAVED about the beach massage, saying that it was better than the spa! She convinced me try it, and she was right! For 1/4 of the price of the spa you get a professional massage on the beach in one of their beach huts. Hannia was very experienced and so kind. She has been doing massage for 12 years on the beach and studied massage for 5 years prior and it shown. I was so impressed by her massage that I went back for another. Anyone going here should definitely seek her out and book an appointment. (506) 85782206 she's on Whatsapp and works 6 days a week starting at 6am.

First time visiting Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Here are our thoughts from the experience Staff very attentive and friendly. Food selection was good but you will need to plan if you want to try one of the restaurants verse main buffet. They are on a rotating schedule due to COVID I believe...If you walk down the beach the Monkey Bar is a must! Check that out for lunch or dinner. Pools were clean and many to choose from. Traveling during the restrictions was actually enjoyable for us due to less people at the resort. You never had an issue finding a spot. Only downfall it’s a little ways to get to a restroom. The rooms themselves were standard. The shows could use more variety from watching dancing every night. Beach was amazing but if you are looking for calm Caribbean waters this is not it. It’s a little rougher but having young ones made it fun. They enjoyed going out in the waves. You can walk quite a ways on the beach and even go over the rocks on low tide to another. If you want to do any tours go through Rene on the beach. It is well worth it!!! He will customize to your needs and it’s a private tour. There were 5 of us and we booked an exploring day to the waterfalls, rain forest, sloth sanctuary, Miravalles volcano. Cezar was our guide for that tour. He really took the time to make sure we were able to experience everything we wanted and we had a birthday surprise with a cake for our daughter. By far beats taking the tour bus. We also booked a fishing trip last minute with Rene. Which was appreciated to be able to set us up so short noticed. Our captain and mate couldn’t have asked for better! We caught 2 roosters and tuna’s we used up all our live bait. We seen 6 whales, sea turtles, and sting rays jumping like crazy! Fishing isn’t always guaranteed this far exceeded expectations. Overall, first experience we would definitely stay here again.
