Detailed Reviews
While this review is a little late in being written we felt it necessary to send.
The property was found online and we booked three nights as we were unfamiliar with the area and not sure where we wanted to be. Upon arrival we discovered the room so small, (a mini suite no less) that we could not even get our larger piece of baggage in the room. It is also very tired and not very tidy.
Secondly, it is DIRECTLY on the approach path of the Nelson airport, the noise is stunning.
Lastly, we told the owner within three hours of our arrival that we would not be staying. She immediately told us there would be a $50.00 cancellation fee as this was their policy. I have checked the online web booking page and cannot find this cancellation "policy".
We will take it up with our credit card company once we return home.

from being met on arrival by the resident jack russell(called jackie)to booking in it was simple they were very welcoming, our unit was just superb, the 1st one as you come in the driveway,it had everything you could want and much more besides,we were expecting a couple of beds and somewhere to cook and maybe a tv(no i did'nt really look at the website b4 leaving leaving the uk although i maybe should have done then what we found in our unit would'nt have been so much of a surprise)it had a twin room at the front, and a kingsize room at the back overlooking a wonderful garden and the swimming pool !,the kitchen was very well equipt and even had a cafetiere! which we were not expecting.the lounge room /diner had a 32inch widescreen tv,with dvd player and cinema sound, plus a cd player,2 huge very comfortable sofas .it was not what any of us was expecting but after driving for hours (from ashburton via kaikoura)it was very welcome,we stayed here a couple of nights and it was worth every Nz$ of the price, even the very low flying aircraft from the nearby airport were not intrusive,in fact we loved it !and cannot wait to come back here as soon as possible,we visited natureland animal park which is nearby(although it is due to close very soon, which in our opinion is such a shame)we had a free newspaper delivered every morning, and the pool was really nice( it must have been cos i got in and i haven't done that in years) the motel even encourages re-cycling and provides bins for this purpose, would we come back here YOU BET !!saving already for a return here .
