Very nice lodge in beautiful mountain landscape, staff very friendly and helpful. We celebrated New Year’s Eve with great dinner with cake! The food was fantastic, local, delicious! There are mountain trails and you can hike the near peaks and of course Snake canyon. Rooms are basic but clean.

We loved this place! Clean, comfortable and set at the bottom of the incredibly scenic Wadi Bani Awf road, it was a great halt. The extremely friendly manager Deep speaks excellent English (as well as many other languages), and is also a very reliable canyoning advisor. Food was also good. A perfect halt!

Really loved our night at Bait Bimah Lodge, out in rural Oman.

The lodge is located on the Wadi Bani Awf route, if you have the Oman Off Road Explorer book, then it is relatively easy to find using the directions in the book. The road is strictly 4WD, and is challenging in parts, with many steep & narrow inclines.

But I would highly recommend as it is a spectacular drive, and was a highlight of our time in Oman.

Deep was a great host, and we loved the food at this lodge, some of our favourite in Oman! I would double check pricing before you go though, as the price we were quoted on booking.com was different to what we paid - but this didn't bother us, as the accomodation/experience was great!

We loved this place and the very friendly staff. Especially Deep the manager is very helpful and knows the walking tours close by. The route from Al Hamra to Bait Bimah is spectacular but not recommended during rainy season and 4*4 drive is needed. The lodge is simple but very clean. Food is nice. The place is best situated to start the walk into the snake canyon.

As we don't intend to hire a car how could we get there from Muscat, and approximately how much would it cost?

As the lodge is somewhere in the middle of one of the 4WD tracks in Wadi Bani Awf, unless you hired a driver there would be no way to reach the lodge. It is really only suitable as a night stop over when passing through or as a base to explore Snake Canyon and the surrounding area. But it is definitely only accessible by 4WD - and I would say a drive only confident drivers should attempt!
