Had a lovely 2 nights here. The room was very well equipped and they had minibar and food snacks which were reasonably priced and great if you get in late. Although we didn’t need to use any, it is a very nice touch. The laundry was excellent and free to use with powder, not something you get normally. The owners were most welcoming and very helpful when I needed them. Would definitely stay again!

Very nice room it is a good size with a very comfortable bed. We were there for 2 nights for work and enjoyed the stay so we stayed an extra night. Close enough to town to walk there in 15 minutes, although it is on the main road the road noise was negligible.

The accomdation was excellent, clean, and was serviced every day, everything was quality and the bed was so soft and comfortable ( this writer could have lingered there for hours reading or watching the in room TV). The special touchs of ordaments, the Gideon bible which is always appreciated, the lovely skylight, and underfloor heating in the bathroom so lovely to step on too. The kitchen has all that you would need including a variety of glasses, cups, mugs and even a teapot, all of which added to the experience. The hosts are wonderful, friendly and special thanks for changing the light bulb so quickly much appreciated :-)
Although the weather didn't allow for sitting outside, the cushions and area were wonderfully set out, will have to come back in the summer :-)
Definity our place to stay at when in Whangarei.

During the past eight years we have stayed at Lodge Bordeaux whenever visiting Whangarei. Resident Manager Stephanie, her husband David and on this occasion, their son Josh who recently joined the business, always give us a warm welcome. Lovely family who ensure your stay is perfect.
We have stayed in a Studio Spa room and also Balcony Spa room, both are beautifully presented. Rooms are spotlessly clean, well equipped, quiet and very comfortable with nice finishing touches to add to French decor. The balcony Spa room was spacious and a home away from home, ideal for our 4 night stay. Bed was very comfortable, crisp white cotton sheets and beautiful bead spread with cushions.
Corner spa bath and excellent shower overhead. Towels top quality. Balcony had table and chairs plus bench seating, cushions, great place to relax at end of the day. Location of motel is perfect for us. If required, reasonably priced, mini bar set up in fridge. We discovered nearby Bontanica Gardens, beautiful native trees giving shade to concrete walking paths though out the gardens, fern house, cactus house, rose gardens etc, perfect for a morning walk. Highly recommend Lodge Bordeaux, we would not stay anywhere else.

Lodge Bordeaux is superb, run by a delightful couple, Stephanie and Dave who do their upmost to ensure a pleasant stay. The studio room with spa in bathroom was beautifully furnished with comfortable seating, very comfortable bed, quality linen/towels and a fully stocked mini bar at reasonable prices. Bathroom and kitchen area well designed and fitted with quality appliances. Shower over spa bath. The grounds are quiet and well thought out with nice pool area. We have stayed at Lodge Bordeaux several times and it would always be our first choice when visiting Whangarei.

We loved staying at Lodge Bordeaux for our 3 nights. The modernity and cleanliness is second to none. Stephanie and David are fabulous hosts. We visited in Autumn so didn't use the pool but the spa bath was lovely and we appreciated the top quality linen. The mini-bar was reasonably priced and we enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast. Although it's on the main highway, we didn't notice much road noise from our unit at all. We'd definitely recommend this highly rated motel. Thanks for our lovely stay - Chrissie and Liam

Superb all around. The accommodations and amenities, the location, very walkable, and Stephanie’s breakfast should not be missed.
We stayed for 7 nights and chose the room with a balcony. Fabulous to have the outdoor space. In addition, the room itself very bright and cheerful. The kitchen was well equipped with teas and coffee, also a mini bar menu if you need a quick bite.
The owners were friendly as could be. Including the resident dogs and cats. They are available with any advice as needed. Also a great selection of DVDs and games to borrow.
The beds are very comfortable, amenities in the bathroom are great as well.

Stayed 4 nights at Bordeaux Lodge and it was very enjoyable. The property is well managed and cared for as the owners live on site and are great hosts! Very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Housekeeping was thorough and our studio was “very” clean. Our studio room #9 was spacious with a king bed that was super comfortable, pillows were clean and linens were nice cotton. Slept well here and we appreciated it. The room had a small kitchen but with everything you need. Everything in the kitchen was very clean which I always take notice of. The room is supplied with items for snacks, breakfast items, drinks, etc., with an appropriate price list. Thoughtful touches abound. The kitchen is so well equipped though that it is easy to bring in your own supplies for breakfast. The bathroom is large, with plenty of towels, bathrobes for guests use and amenities. Parking is easy and assigned right in front of your door. There is a complimentary washer and dryer for guests use as well. I can’t think of anything that could be improved on. A great stay!!

We stayed here 9 years ago and it was wonderful and this time was no different...even had the same 1 bedroom unit as before #7.
Everything was spottless and it looked like nothing had been used since we were there last time. Im not sure if anything had been replaced but most of everything looked brand new....even the kitchen sink.
The room had plenty of space, nice comfortable lounge chairs, King bed which is hard to get out of in the morning as it was so comfortable. Bathroom was large and plenty of vanity space for your personal things, great shower but the only negative thing is its in a spa bath. Being a bit older and not long having a knee replacment I found it a bit difficult getting in and out due to not wanting to slip.
This unit was ground floor and had a small patio where you could sit out and still be private.
Hosts are very friendly and are willing to help with anything you may need.
Laundry had 2 washing machines and dryers.
Parking is free and right outside of your room.
Great location - you could walk into Whangarei if you wanted to or its a 5 min drive.
We have no hesitation in recommending this property....it is really something special.

This motel is outstanding, far superior to any other in Whangarei. This was our second visit here and we have booked to return next year. The standard of cleanliness is more than you may expect but it is the extra luxuries we enjoyed. The spa bath, the underfloor heating, the dishwasher, the heated towel rail, and the extensive entertainment system. All the comforts of home. Welcoming hosts complete the picture. We took a 1 bedroom apartment which was quiet and set well back from the road. I cannot recommend this establishment more highly. Go there for comfort on every level.
