Great family experience

Had an amazing time here - swimming pool was fantastic and both kids really enjoyed ourr stay here

We stayed in the water Lilly lodge which was breathtaking - view amazing and comfort amazing

Main up is to make sure you stock up on food and alcohol on the way - so you don’t need to leave (you won’t want to)

Stayed at Tara Lodge for 3 nights with a family of 6, check in was fast and friendly with a bottle of wine we didn’t expect. The house was magnificent 4 large bedrooms beautifully furnished with the main room with en-suite , a 2nd bathroom was spacious and beautiful. Quality of the towels was very good, the lounge dining area was massive and also a lovely foyer to play board games, all beautifully furnished, the kitchen was very well designed and the benches were massive , this place could easily accommodate 8 guests . The spa was very nice and felt Clean you could stay in the spa for ages , kangaroos roaming around the large property which is dotted with about 7 other holiday houses of all sizes. We drive to the pool as we had elderly with us , pool could do with some shade, but the water was lovely and clean , the tennis was fun but we would recommend taking your own balls as they were a bit flat , the racquets were ok, they are free and in the pool shed , relaxing weekend you could drive to Forster and blackhead beach for a swim in ocean pools and Nabiac hotel provided a shuttle that picked you up at your front door and also drive you back at no charge , was a nice pub for dinner , property also had a well equipped laundry and lovely floor rugs ! Definitely worth a stay

I have just returned from my 3rd three night stay in Talawahl Eco Lodge at Clarendon Forest Retreat……it is my go to house for a blissfully relaxing break with friends or family.

The house is gorgeous and so spacious I can happily stay in a group of 6 friends and not have to go anywhere. Whilst never feeling crowded or in one another’s pockets.

The fully equipped kitchen is fantastic with everything you need from cake pans to stick blenders. Enough crockery glassware and cutlery for at least two meals and heaps of cocktails before you need to run the dishwasher.

Dom and Nick really do think of everything that you might need for a day or a week.

Only wish I did not have to leave!

We went there from our Sydney offices to do a Valuation of the Neighbourhood Property and decided to stay the night in one of the cottages called “ The Chapel”.
We were particularly impressed with the immaculate presentation of the cottage and surrounding lawns and gardens.
We , for our age did not use the Spa but the bed was very comfortable.
The location of the toilet was an issue but not for most younger guests.
We took our food and wine and all was there for those needs.
The quietness was obvious.
A lovely overnight.

We booked the Summerhouse on the spur of the moment just for a short romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of Sydney and surprisingly found so much more in Possum Brush. The serenity, peacefulness, birdlife, kangaroos made us appreciate the beauty of nature and simple pleasures of life. The rain certainly did not put a dampener on our trip as it made us spend more time at the Summerhouse, enjoying cups of tea and glasses of wine on the deck whilst soaking up the magnificent views. The highlight of our trip was the indoor Hot Tub/Spa which we used extensively, feeling relaxed and renewed. There is so much more that makes the Summerhouse and the location even more spectacular. The open space with the beautiful surroundings fills you with an instant sense of relaxation and inner peace. We will certainly be telling our family and friends about this gorgeous piece of paradise and will definitely be back in the future to experience one of the other cottages! This Retreat is truly a hidden gem! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Five nights in January experiencing a depth of relaxation I haven't felt in a long time. As apartment-dwelling city peeps, sitting on The Sanctuary's porch with a beer, staring at a lagoon all day was bliss. The most complex logistics of the day were determining when and what to chuck on the BBQ for meals. We had booked outside activities but cancelled them, preferring to experience the quiet serenity for as long as we could. One afternoon on the porch, a thunderous hailstorm drenched the area for an hour providing much entertainment. The antique furniture was odd to start with, but grew on us. Driving a Nissan Micra along Possum Brush Road is a hilarious experience.

Dog friendly, idylic, looking very forward to returning.

We stayed for 6 nights at The Sanctuary. Perfect hidden spot for a couple. Quiet, cosy and romantic. We enjoyed a lot cooking everyday with BBQ and eating outside, relaxing in the jacuzzi, sleeping like logs... So quiet, surrounded just by nature. I will be back for sure. Highly recommended.

We spend our annual Christmas family holiday here and have for the past 5 years.

The houses are beautiful with your own jacuzzi. Each house is unique with its own jacuzzi, fireplace, bbq area and the houses are distanced from each other.

The staff have always been welcoming and best of all it is pet friendly!

We recently stayed for 5 nights in Talawahl at Clarendon Forest Retreat. It was a large house with excellent facilities. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The views from the wrap-around balcony were spectacular and the spa bath was the cherry on top.

We really appreciated the pet friendly stay. Our border collie had the best time and loved all the space to run around. We also played tennis every day on the newly turfed tennis court. So much fun!

A tip for future holidaymakers…. Woolworths deliver to Clarendon! It helped us a lot as our car was packed to the brim with human and dog luggage that we didn’t have space for groceries on the way there.

We knew as we entered the inviting tree lined driveway we had come to the right place for a few days’ retreat. The house exceeded our expectations from its cosy lounge and impressive kitchen, through to spacious veranda and outdoor spa.

The night sky was truly fantastic, filled by the Milky Way from horizon to horizon, coupled with peaceful silence, and waking up to panoramic scenery and birdsong of an Australian landscape and lake were amazing.

The beds were perfect, the house beautifully cool, and everything was spotlessly clean and well appointed. We ventured into the nearby towns for a few meals and shopping but otherwise just enjoyed the sheer relaxation of our temporary utopia.

We simply didn’t want to leave and will absolutely be back... maybe with the family, or a few friends.
