We stayed with a group of 13 for a long weekend travelling from Sydney. We originally booked a king room, but were disappointed with it. We asked if any cottage/cabins also found on the property were available and luckily one was. The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage with a fine kitchen, comfortable beds, great TV was VERY comfortable. The walkaround veranda was charming, but the best was the view overlooking a pond and paddocks. Kangaroos bounced by, there was a bird choir, even black swans. We enjoyed a bonfire in the outside fire pit/bbq on a chilly winter's evening. We loved it. The staff were friendly as too! Thank you!
We had 3 nights at Pokolbin Village the check in was very easy and our cabin was clean and suitable for our needs with my wife in a wheelchair. The cabin was conveniently located close to the village shops. The disabled cabin was a little tired and could use some updating, but overall meet our necessities. The village offers several shops including a bottle shop, convenience store, cheese and deli, and a cafe offering great coffee and snacks.
The Pokolbin Village offers something for everyone. The staff were extremely helpful and made our stay a very personalised experience. There is so much variety on offer in regards to the accommodation which we found to be clean and filled with everything you will need and then some for a comfortable stay. You will find this location hard to beat. The Village Shops have everything you need. You will want for nothing and like us wonder why you left the property when it was all right there on our doorstep or just a 5 minute walk to neighbouring businesses. I won't be staying anywhere else when I return to this beautiful location in the hunter valley
This was a lovely place to stay with a group of friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made check in/out simple, even with using multiple Stays Vouchers. The 2 bedroom villa room was great and had plenty of room fo 4 adults. Location is perfect, easy walk to shops and cafe's/restaurants, right in the heart of the winerys.
Perfect location for the wineries, not quite what we expected situated behind a small shopping centre. Family bungalow was spacious for our family of 4 and clean enough except for the bugs in one bedroom. Very pricey for midweek and disappointed the petting farm was closed.
I once again stayed in a Village Villa - my favourite retreat. The very spacious grounds on which it is placed give plenty of room for visiting kangaroos and ducks. The Villa (two bedrooms - fully equipped kitchen) has every facility for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
This was perfect for our two families. Plenty of outdoor space, very central, great staff and amenities, petting zoo onsite, room for bike riding and kicking a soccer ball, wineries nearby and great cafe onsite. Will definitely be back.
Our family of 4 had a 2 night stay and it was perfect for us. Cabin was clean, spacious and great value. We enjoyed sitting on the deck having breakfast watching the kangaroos. Loved that there was so much space on the property and despite cold weather the kids enjoyed the pool. This felt like a proper bush/farm getaway, we would definitely return in the future, would be perfect for a group trip
Our stay at Pokolvin Village for the 2 nights were fantastic! Being located very centrally and accessibly within the Hunter Valley region, we went to most wineries by foot and had a very good restaurant and cafe right beside the accommodation. On checking in, the staff offered us a free upgrade to King Deluxe which was a lovely surprise. The accommodation was spacious, well-equipped, and had the most comfortable bed. Will definitely be staying here again when I visit Hunter Valley next!
We really looked forward to our stay in the Retreat and we were not disappointed. Our family of 16, aged 18 months to 96 years was very well catered for. The house was more than we had hoped for: huge, extremely clean, well appointed, lots of bathrooms and towels. All the rooms were of a good size. There was heaps of room for indoor activities, enough chairs and tables for everyone to sit together - or apart if they chose, another area under cover for outside dining, our own almost brand new barbecue and a flat area for outside games too. Lounges were very comfortable. The staff at reception were very helpful and our little ones loved the petting zoo and feeding the animals. The resident kangaroos were also very popular. Our big ones played lots of tennis and swam in the very clean and inviting pool. We didn't use the rec room although a pool table was available. The kitchen was wonderful with two sinks, a dishwasher, huge pantry and side by side fridge and freezer. We enjoyed Aqua golf, and mini golf - even our great grandmother joined it. Everything was close by and those who wanted to visit vineyards did so. We appreciated that everything was in good order and worked well - even the windows were clean. There were lots of doors for fresh air but also ducted air conditioning in the main house for when it was too hot. No-one criticised anything - pretty good for such a large group!! The early check in/ late checkout was very much appreciated.…
