We booked for 2 nights stay in a Studio cottage for three persons. Cottage is beautifully set with a balcony that opens into the greeneries. There is a loft with a large double bed and a single bed on the lower floor. Room is clean, comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen. It is set in a good location for drivers, as it is a short drive to both Cessnock and Pokolbin towns and to various cellar doors. We encountered an unexpected storm and blackout on our second night. The host was quick to reassure the guests and to ensure our safety and well being, walking in the strong wind and rain with blankets to keep us warm and parceling out battery operated candles, and checking in on us periodically. Luckily, the storm blew over quickly and lights were restored soon after. Definitely a memorable stay, for the beautiful cottage, views and great hospitality.…
My wife and I stayed here for two nights recently (a Sunday and Monday) for our visit to the Hunter Valley. Very conveniently located in Pokolbin the rooms are clean and comfortable with a beautiful vista out to the trees and mountains in the distance. It was especially nice to be in a small guesthouse, rather than the hubbub of the larger resorts. Continental breakfasts offered a nice choice of options. A great base to locate yourself before a day out touring the vineyards and countryside!
We a lovely stay here. We were greeted with a warm welcome, beautiful rooms, a serene and tranquil setting and exceptional service. The two beautiful cats on the property made our stay all the more enjoyable. We hope to get back soon. We highly recommend.
Amazing views and location. Great rooms with a common room/kitchen to enjoy as well. It was a delight to stay as the Elfin it has a short driveway from the road and outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy the glorious sweeping valley. Madeleine the host was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with touring activities and she impressed with her communication and friendliness shared with all the other businesses in the area of the Vineyards and beyond A magnificent experience. I will definitely go back to The Elfin next year Dianna Doc
I loved the accommodation, we stayed in the cottage and it beautiful country feel. Very clean and tidy. The Ed’s were comfortable and had plenty of pillows to choose from. Must comment on the very tasteful breakfast and was prepared and served up on time that we chose. It served up beautiful. Beautiful manicured grounds with plenty of scenic views out of your window and plenty of outside space to stroll around. Just beautiful The manager was fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay a great success. Anything you needed Madeline would make sure it happened as was the staff who also made our stay wonderful. Thank you very much. We will definitely be staying again. Marianne
We absolutely loved our stay at Elfin Hill. Madeleine was great and was so flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to numerous events. She really cared for us over the stay and made the experience delightful. It was so nice to wake up to a fresh and healthy breakfast and we really enjoyed the views.
I looked at Elfin Hill across several booking sites and at no point did I think this was a motel. I thought we were getting a cute cottage type experience however I was incorrect. If this was advertised as a motel and I paid motel prices, I’d be satisfied. Instead we paid premium pricing for a run down motel experience. The rooms are old and the property is not as advertised. Please update the property descriptions to reflect that this is a motel. The upside, the staff were delightful.
Has a great kitchen you can use. Facilities are excellent. Good friendly staff. Its quiet and relaxing. Has a communal area with heater, lounges, outdoor tables as well as indoor large table and complimentary port.
Renovated log cabin accommodation. Off Oakey Creek Rd. Super quiet. Spotless rooms with verandah overlooking gardens and bush. Lovely manager Madeline. Nothing too much trouble. Good locals knowledge passed on. Pool. Well equipped common area. Thoroughly recommend.
We stayed here as a family and absolutely loved it! The rooms were spacious and clean and had a large bar fridge and own private balcony! A delicious home made breakfast was included and they had a swimming pool which the kids loved! A beautiful, picturesque quiet, private place to stay that is close to the wineries - highly recommended!
