Our stay at the Novotel recently was not up to the standard we had hoped. We have stayed at many Accor Hotels which have been better. Poor service at breakfast, long wait for food and a ceiling with mould which was bowing and will eventually drop on the diners.

The Novotel is located in a fantastic position, I would highly recommend it for that alone. My disappointment was the lack of recognition of my status within the ALL programme and the severely stretched housekeeping. Breakfast dishes were still outside doors when we headed to dinner at 6pm. A wine glass stayed on the ground until the next morning. Worse than all that is a left iPad charger that miraculously disappeared. We called perhaps 2 hours after checking out and were never connected to housekeeping, just told we would get a call if it turned up. Only one of two things can have happened, either the next guest got luck or someone else with access tot he room has it. Either way housekeeping is clearly underperforming. We never got a call back, had to chase up with the front desk and now we are one charger down and some lucky person with access to a locked hotel room is one up.

You certainly pay for the location not the accommodation! For a 4.5 ⭐️ Hotel with rates north of $300 P/N it fell way short of our expectations more inline with the 3.5⭐️ Ibis down the road. Receipt was efficient and friendly but as soon as we entered the lift it all went down hill the lift walls & doors were putrid and cracked tiles on exit. The room was OK we upgraded to a harbour view room but the windows were cover in salt so that was a waste. The carpet to me looked grotty or bad choice of colour? The safe had been smashed open, destroyed and unusable but the bathroom was OK though! But minibar was empty. We booked the inclusive breakfast deal but when we were seated we given a limited option on extra’s food was tasty but we declined the self serve coffee and left for the cafe next door as the AC vents were dripping condensation on us from slimy mouldy vents in the ceiling. Sad really whether it’s a result of the COVID downturn or just bad maintenance it poorly reflected its 4.5⭐️ Rating and although it is beachside you wouldn’t know from inside as view are restricted to a few overpriced rooms and limited vista’s

It actually sickens me to think about how much money I paid to stay in this hotel (close to $3k for 6 nights) and what I got for that money... Run down hotel, issue with our room which we were told was fixed (it wasn't), told we would be called (we weren't) and ultimately we were forced to change rooms to go to the cheaper room which they couldn’t refund the difference… wifi too slow to use and constantly dropping out, front desk almost always unattended, having to ask for toilet paper because the cleaners didn't put any in the bathroom, room keys stopped working one day for no reason and the list goes on. I understand the above are all first world problems, but for what this hotel charges I feel like I have been robbed - will never ever return

A nice location at the top of town with a view of Nobby's while passing through for a regional visit. Had not stayed for a few years but the hotel had retained its simple but quality feel. And our upgraded room had a walk-in shower. We really appreciated the loss of the bath/shower! A comfortable and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff throughout, especially in the restaurant. The restaurant was as good as we remembered, possibly with fewer choices though due to Covid.
