The Imperial traditional pub-style accommodation is big on cleanliness and value for money. We offer 14 spotlessly clean and comfortable traditional rooms with contemporary features of air conditioning and a 34 inch flat screen TV. All rooms access shared bathroom facilities (no ensuite rooms). A light, self-serve breakfast is also included in the tariff. The City of Maitland is historically significant, being first settled in the very early 1800's and provides the perfect base for day trips to the arts and crafts village of Morpeth, the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, and the mountains of the Barringtons. Maitland is also just 30 minutes from the best beaches Australia's east coast has to offer and only 2 hours from the bright lights of Sydney.

This is a beautiful old pub. The rooms (including the bathrooms) have been recently renovated and are immaculately clean, while retaining heritage character. Spacious and comfortable beds. Pub is friendly with good, well priced food. We really enjoyed our stay.

This place is so well located. Above a fun pub with a great bistro but also bang in the middle of the fun end of High Street. You enter separate to the pub and go to the first floor which transports you to Edwardian times. Beautiful decor. Rooms modern and comfy. We had share twin but I believe double is available. Shared bathrooms are not a problem and the make your own breakfast area just works. One other time I stayed here a parlour at the front was open and that was stunning. We ate at the pub downstairs. Big tick. Trying to find an excuse for another Maitland trip!

We stopped in here for a late lunch and had the nachos and salt and pepper squid. The nachos was lovely and a big serve for the price. The salt and pepper squid was a bit overcooked but still nice with a side of salad. The wine list had a lot of local wines which was nice. We'll be back!

I stayed at Shenanigans for just one night. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. That is all I needed for somewhere to sleep. As usual for most country pubs there were shared showers but they were very clean and modern. There was a choice of breakfast in the restaurant or a basic "do it yourself" in the shared kitchen. The supplies for the do it yourself brekky (cereal, bread and spreads, milk, tea and coffee) were plentiful and again was all I needed.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my short stay.

Dropped in on the off chance one wet Saturday lunchtime. Food good but it does need more vegetarian dishes/options. Kids loved the side orders. Atmosphere and Guinness always good. Nice unexpected treat.

We stayed in the 1st floor family room with our children on Saturday night. The walls were rattling with live music downstairs all night. We would accept some noise but this was ridiculous. The included breakfast was no good cause someone had eaten/stolen all the good cereals.

Very competitively priced and well located in the centre of town. The property was very tidy and I found the rooms and amenities fresh and clean. The added convenience of the pub/restaurant downstairs for all meals. Will stay again.

We had a 90th Birthday Party in their function room on the 28th July. There we 21 guests and each and everyone raved about their meals. Here are just some of the meals chosen, A huge thank you to the staff who helped make it a great day.

Nice cosy older style pub. Great service and the lamb shank pie with mash potatoes and peas was excellent. Parking is plentiful around the pub. Prices were average but definitely worth it. Suitable for any ages.
