We stayed here previously and returned again. The location and historical buildings are awesome. This time we stayed in the family room. Large room with everything you’ll need. It’s a great place to stay and explore the area. The service is lacking after COVID I suppose but it wasn’t that bad.
My partner booked here as he had been here years s ago in its hay day. Now it’s a little disappointing - needs some TLC. I read the feed back after he had booked and on the basis of what I read, we would probably have cancelled however by then it was too late. My review: Yes it is dated and it needs some freshening up. No, it doesn’t seem to be properly staffed - however there was an amazing lady who seemed to be the “everything person” - the receptionist, bar maid, restaurant waitress, room service delivery person and I’m sure she has many other jobs ( give her a pay rise). Overall the accomodation is adequate, comfortable, and a clean room Restaurant: Decided to have dinner here. Not cheap, but OMG food was amazing. Barramundi was perfect and lamb back strap to die for. I’ve eaten in many first class restaurants and let me say the food was amazing . In Summary, Glad I ignored the naysayers - I had a great night 😀…
Very disappointed in this hotel. We stayed here on Friday 29 April (booked 2 rooms) My husband and I are both Platinum members and have never had such a poor experience. Owner refused to accept that we were Platinum members insisting that the room that my husband (Rob Noble) booked was for a Silver member and refused to provide the free breakfast. It is also disappointing that they have a policy of not allowing people dine there if they are not staying there even if they are Platinum card holders. Unfortunately we had already prepaid for the following Friday night (6 May) so had to stay there. I will never use this hotel again. Staff were rude and as a regular user of Accor properties, I do not believe it is at the standard of a Mercure property. We are happy to provide additional information as required. Dr Veronica Lunn…
The staff were friendly and nice. Once COVID has fully passed and travel is back to normal seeing this hotel busy will be amazing. Such a gorgeous property that deserves to be busy once again with people all around the grounds and corridors. Lovely people and family.
Wonderful stay staff were so kind and very friendly it was so peaceful waking in the morning to the sounds of birds chirping breakfast was plentiful and overall a lovely ple3asant stay and the history of the place only adds to the magic !
the hotel rooms are spacious and staff friendly. The grounds are good too. However; attention to cleanliness needed inside the room especially in pandemic time. The hotel actually has much potential and is of good value.
The building looks old from the outside, but the inside is really quaint and a real surprise. It was good to read about the history of the building. I think they are short staffed. The lady taking and bringing out the breakfast orders was on her own.
Spending New Years here. Perfect location near Maitland hospital and township. Beautiful historical building but full of modern appointments. Quite clean with all you’ll need. We had an outside balcony room overlooking the pool. The staff on duty couldn’t be more helpful but appeared to be short staffed. The restaurant breakfast was expensive at $22.00 per person cheaper for room service. Plenty of parking but didn’t see any undercover spaces. In conclusion we would stay here again and recommend it.
There was way to few staff. They were expected to look after reception and the restaurant some distance away. There were some grubby carpet corners that hadn’t seen a vacuum for a while. The sheet on our king bed didn’t fit and couldn’t be tucked in on the side. Staff didn’t seem to know much much about what Accor membership benefits were..
Nicest motel in the area. Beautiful setting and building. Seemed a bit quiet, maybe due to Covid restrictions still. Breakfast was adequate but slow. VERY disappointed there was no Club Sandwich on the Room service menu. I always think this is a standard in hotels for business travelers. I had to go out to get one
