As the title says; cheap and cosy. Stayed here for one night as a stopover and it was perfect for us. The place has a bit of an old feel about it but the room we stayed in was very cosy and homely. The manager was amazing, very friendly making sure everything was ok. She had closed all our curtains and put the heater on ready for when we arrived late evening, also had great recommendations for local food joints. Convenient location for everything we needed. We absolutely loved that we had reclining arm chairs in front of the tv! The parking was a bit tight and awkward and the internet wasn’t the best but we would definitely stay here again if we were in town for a short stay.

My husband and I stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon, as a cheap crash pad before flying home the next day. We stayed in unit 8, which is upstairs.

Positives:
The motel is within walking distance of the city centre, not right on the doorstep but still close enough if you have a bit of time up your sleeve. There is free onsite parking as well as plentiful street parking. There is a supermarket, an ATM and some takeaway outlets around the corner (including a very good fish & chip shop). The rooms are equipped with everything you need, including a kitchen, and the heater kept us nice and warm at night. Everything seemed to be clean. The staff were very helpful, although the office was unattended when we were going to check out (at 10am).

Negatives:
I don't want to be too harsh but I need to make some honest observations. When we first got up to our room, my first impression was 'dark and dingy'. The room had an unpleasant musty smell, and the fittings and furniture were very shabby, dated and unappealing. The bed sagged in the middle and so did the floorboards under the vinyl floor in the bathroom. The street was very quiet but not exactly in the nicest part of town.

Overall:
I would be reluctant to stay here again, mainly because the rooms were so unappealing. We stayed at 14 different hotels/motels on our trip and this one was my least favourite. The motel could use a major refurbishment or redecoration to make it more appealing to customers. It's probably fine if you want a cheap place near the city, but I would actually be willing to stay further out next time in order to get a nicer room.

I've stayed at the Adorian Motel since my parents first took me to New Zealand back in 1990. It doesn't claim to be anything more than a nice cheap motel close to town. I love the location of the Adorian which is close to the centre of Christchurch. The rooms are clean yet basic for the standard traveler.

We needed somewhere affordable, the Adorian fitted the bill perfectly.
Linda was amazingly welcoming, helpful at the drop of a hat.
Unit was clean, fresh linen throughout frequently, Even lent us a clothes horse without us asking!! Room was plenty big enough, separate kitchen with table and chairs, shower room and separate toilet.
Would definitely recommend to everyone.
Free WiFi, laundry and parking.

Ok rooms. Very strange unfriendly woman manager stingy with wireless internet - definitely behind the times. Aggressive when I inquired about more internet - 50mb! Would never stay here if it wasn't a work trip. Avoid.

Very comfortable. ..spotlessly clean with fresh towels everyday.
Friendly and accommodating. ..
Just a 15 minute walk into centre which was great as we could leave the car behind.
No problem at all with the parking...
Would stay again and recommend.
Many thanks.

Just stayed for one night but found it a very handy place to stay. It's a bit more motel ish looking but perfect- a big room, comfortable bed, very clean, a good separate kitchen which was one of the few motels with an actual oven and full fridge and everything. You could hear the room next door fairly well which was a bit weird. Internet was free- you get one of the vouchers with log in code. There's parking outside the door- you have to reverse all the way back out then. Handy location close to town. Owners were friendly.

Stayed here for a break away from home...queen bed more comfy than my own!.clean and comfortable room.Lovely lady in the office more than willingly to help us out with various questions we had on what to do in the city..and helping with booking arrangements for our ongoing travel plans. Have read some of the reviews on this place on here and have to wonder if really that accurate...the guy in next unit was a bit towey as he expected 24 hour service due to been in Ch.Ch to help some flood people..not sure what he meant but he had a few "fanta's" with his work crew and was out to diss I reckon...we would stay here again...cozy comforts of home with value for money accomodation.cheers!

Wouldnt know how to talk or treat a guest if she tried. Everything was a problem. I rang her at 10 pm one night and yelled at me. Telling me this isn't a 24 hour hotel , I never got to ask her what I rang about I was so shocked how I was being spoken to. We had 8 from our company staying there 6 of us checked out. The good thing is she will lose 9 nights accommodation. Ha ha

We just needed a place to sleep cheaply for 3 adults and this ticked the boxes. Very friendly staff and 3 beds plus a kitchen and a good shower for 100$. It is old interiour - 60’s style but everything functions well. We stayed downstairs in a bigger room and upstairs in a smaller room and both were fine for just a few night. A few good restaurant nearby too.
