I enjoyed my stay. The room was tidy and mostly modern with all the usual amenities (kitchenette, microwave, iron, ironing board, TV etc). The only drawback is that the hotel is located on a busy corner and there was some traffic noise (but not major). If you have a car, the hotel is a good location for the central city as it has a carpark and is a just a few minutes' drive to the city. However, it's also a very nice walk into the city across Hagley Park - maybe about 20 minutes or so, depending on how fast you walk. By car it's only about 10-15 minutes to the airport, depending on the time of day. Riccarton Road is just a couple of minutes' walk away with plenty of shops, restaurants, take-aways etc.
I will definitely look at staying here when returning to Christchurch.
The room itself is quite large, by most standards, and clean and tidy. One one night we stayed in a ground floor room adjacent to the road. There was quite a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. As there is no adequate airflow without having at least one wind open, this was quite disruptive to sleep. The second night was not directly on the road and we had no problems. The beds were comfortable.
Room features are basic, but that was fine. There were the usual kettle, toaster, cutlery and such. Everything was clean. There is a funky desktop fan for air circulation but we didn't need to use it. Summer might be a problem. Ceiling fans would be a good idea and not expensive to implement.
I wouldn't stay here again unless I had a car. There's nothing particularly wrong with the hotel for the cost, it's just that we weren't impressed with the location.
The room itself was adequate but very tired. You had to fish around for a cable to get the fridge to work, pull it in front of the fridge and plug it in above the work surface. Wouldn’t want to stay here again. There are lots of motels in Christchurch
Directly at the park and a busy road. We took a scooter into town
To the airport about 10 min by car.
A few restaurants and a 24h shop are around the corner.
Wi-Fi did not work or the password was gone u at the reception was nobody. I'm waiting for the call back from night duty today...
