We stayed for 2 nights at the Towers. Couldn’t fault the staff we met or the facilities, it could do with updating but everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location was fine for us, about 20 mins walk across the park to the city, various restaurants around the hotel in Riccarton, within a 15 min walk. Unfortunately on a Friday night the main road seems to be treated like a racetrack until the early hours. If you are a light sleeper, I’d avoid this hotel.

Thank you for your review. We’re really glad to hear you found our staff friendly and the facilities clean and comfortable. It’s great that the location worked well for you, with a nice walk through the park to the city and restaurants nearby. We’re sorry to hear that the road noise on Friday night disrupted your sleep. It can get lively in the area on weekends, and we’d recommend requesting a room away from the main road for a quieter stay. We appreciate your feedback about the facilities, and it’s something we’re always working on. Thanks again for staying with us—we’d love to welcome you back sometime!

I spent two nights here in May 2024, attending a conference at the Chateau on the Park hotel which is right across the road.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was tidy and mostly modern with all the usual amenities (kitchenette, microwave, iron, ironing board, TV etc). The only drawback is that the hotel is located on a busy corner and there was some traffic noise (but not major). If you have a car, the hotel is a good location for the central city as it has a carpark and is a just a few minutes' drive to the city. However, it's also a very nice walk into the city across Hagley Park - maybe about 20 minutes or so, depending on how fast you walk. By car it's only about 10-15 minutes to the airport, depending on the time of day. Riccarton Road is just a couple of minutes' walk away with plenty of shops, restaurants, take-aways etc.

I will definitely look at staying here when returning to Christchurch.

We stayed at this hotel and the beginning and end of our south island tour. The hotel is not really near anything. If you don't have a car, it's an irritating walk to shops and restaurants. Westfield is about a 20 minute flat walk. There isn't much of interest between the hotel and there.

The room itself is quite large, by most standards, and clean and tidy. One one night we stayed in a ground floor room adjacent to the road. There was quite a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. As there is no adequate airflow without having at least one wind open, this was quite disruptive to sleep. The second night was not directly on the road and we had no problems. The beds were comfortable.

Room features are basic, but that was fine. There were the usual kettle, toaster, cutlery and such. Everything was clean. There is a funky desktop fan for air circulation but we didn't need to use it. Summer might be a problem. Ceiling fans would be a good idea and not expensive to implement.

I wouldn't stay here again unless I had a car. There's nothing particularly wrong with the hotel for the cost, it's just that we weren't impressed with the location.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the rooms spacious, clean, and comfortable, and that you appreciated the amenities provided. We understand that our location may not suit all preferences, especially for guests without a car. While we are close to the beautiful Botanic Gardens and just a short drive to central Christchurch, we appreciate that the walking distance to shops and restaurants might feel inconvenient for some. We’re pleased to let you know that air conditioning is now available in our rooms, providing enhanced comfort for warmer days and nights. Additionally, we value your suggestions and will take it into consideration for future improvements. Thank you again for your review. Your feedback helps us to continually enhance the guest experience, and we hope you enjoyed your South Island tour overall. If there’s anything further we can assist with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I’ve rated this a 3* however my wife was lobbying for a 2*. It was the least favourite of all the hotels we had stayed in to date on our North island to South tour. The room was clean and functional and the bed was OK. However, as others have said, it doesn’t have aircon and it was a hot day in the city, so we needed all the windows open. There was a note to say you can request a fan from reception but that does close in the evening. The wifi is poor, dropping connection and requiring logins the next morning. It was the only hotel in NZ where a FaceTime call to the UK couldn’t complete. Worth noting that if you have a room on the second level there are some stairs to negotiate with luggage - we didn’t see any lifts and weren’t told of any when given the room. Whilst it’s by the Botanic gardens it is quite a walk into central Christchurch - we ate at the Curator’s House on the other side of the gardens and it was a 25 minute walk.

Thank you for your feedback, and we're pleased to share that air conditioning is now available in our rooms to enhance guest comfort. We’re glad you found the room clean and functional and the bed satisfactory, though we regret that other aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We’re continuously working to improve, including addressing Wi-Fi connectivity issues and ensuring clearer communication. We’re located next to the beautiful Botanic Gardens, but we understand that the distance to central Christchurch may not suit all guests’ preferences. We appreciate your insights and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience in the future. If there’s anything further you’d like to discuss, please feel free to contact us directly.

We had two separate one night stays. The first we had travelled from Melbourne our first trip to New Zealand from the U.K. Check in lady was pleasant and room was fine, basic but fine. It’s a long walk to the town from this hotel about 2 - 3 miles, if you want to walk in and eat. Coming back was a nightmare as it was pitch black through the park and we got completely lost. On check out we had a horrible couldn’t give a dam older lady. We asked if we could leave our luggage as our flight was only a couple of hours later. She said oh yeah and didn’t have any safe facilities to leave them. Just standing alone to one side. On returning I asked if I could use the toilet before going to the airport which she replied ‘no go use the hotel down the road’. What kind of an answer is that for goodness sake? She was incredibly rude and quite hostile. Our second booked night we had a lovely check in lady but the room stank of smoke, so we had to moved to another room. All in all book somewhere else.

Dear julesd7, We regret that we did not meet your expectations during your stay with us and thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are located 3km from the city centre and we do have large shopping facilities close by. There is a lit path through the park that remains on the entire night and our staff are always more than happy to help with maps. We will be speaking with the receptionist in regards to your comments as we do agree that this is not acceptable. We apologize for the inconvenience caused on your second night and hope to have this resolved by moving rooms. Once again thank you for your feedback and we wish you all the best on your onward travels.

Huge disappointment. Arrived at 3am due to delayed flight. Fortunately, a colleague had my room key. Room was hot! No fan and so poorly designed you can't get ventilation without opening the curtains fully so, zero privacy. Toilet seat broken upon arrival. Shower has 2 settings: scalding and melt your tattoo hot. Housekeeping very poor. Stayed 4 nights: 2 no trash emptied and bed not made. Floors not swept or vacuumed during entire stay. Older front desk clerk not exactly a joy... she thinks staying 4 nights should charge you for 5. No sense arguing, she's not very bright. Oh, but she's quick to tell you that you are "lucky" they have a room for you?? (what a joke). Office closes at 9pm so if you have an issue late you are S. O. O. L. If you set your standards really, really low you might not be disappointed. Spend the extra $$ and book across the street at the Double Tree. Towers is a semi glorified sleeping room. It is NOT a real hotel or motel. Only good point was young lady on evening desk duty was friendly and pleasant. Day shift employee was a waste of time. My suggestion is find a real hotel and avoid this mess.

Dear 973craign. We regret that we did not meet your expectations during your stay with us. We do apologize for the toilet seat not being fastened properly on arrival and we have spoken with our housekeeping team as to why this was not properly addressed prior to arrival. Please note our windows do not require the curtains to be open. We have also addressed the issue with the temperature of the shower and wish to once again apologize for this. Our rooms are serviced daily and have spoken with our housekeeping team to go over your comments as this is unacceptable, we have appointed a new supervisor to ensure these matters are addressed. Thank you for your positive comments regarding one of our staff members and I will be sure to pass this on. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We arrived mid morning after a long flight. There was no room ready, and when I asked about a toilet I was told there were none there and sent on a hike to the middle of the botanic garden! If the rooms were not ready, I could have used a loo! If a room had been cleaned, we could have had it! I was so tired this welcome was not helpful.
The room itself was adequate but very tired. You had to fish around for a cable to get the fridge to work, pull it in front of the fridge and plug it in above the work surface. Wouldn’t want to stay here again. There are lots of motels in Christchurch

My wife and I had to do an overnight business trip in Christchurch and the Towers was the perfect place to park up. Dead handy to town, Joyful on Riccarton for a quick takeaway dinner, Hagley park for morning run, Westfield for last minute shopping, and close to arterial route to head away. The room was neat and clean, and special thanks to Sirena at the front desk for making the booking smooth and easy - terrific customer service. Will be back - highly recommended.

Hi Minity, I'm not sure if the office is open at this time but I'm sure if you email them, they will arrange something for you. At least you won't have far to travel from the airport to your accomodation. Enjoy Christchurch :)

Hi Val It seems we have already responded to your direct email as we received the same inquiry through our own website. However, I can confirm we have you in a ground floor room as requested. In regards to the extra person, we can certainly arrange a roll-away bed and this would be at a cost of $20 per night it was required. Kind regards, Jacob Williams
