My wife and I had to do an overnight business trip in Christchurch and the Towers was the perfect place to park up. Dead handy to town, Joyful on Riccarton for a quick takeaway dinner, Hagley park for morning run, Westfield for last minute shopping, and close to arterial route to head away. The room was neat and clean, and special thanks to Sirena at the front desk for making the booking smooth and easy - terrific customer service. Will be back - highly recommended.
16 Over 60's cricketers stayed at the Towers recently for 6 nights while in Christchurch playing in a national cricket tournament. Towers was prefect for us...close by Hagley Park, clean and tidy and the staff could not do enough for us....many thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.
The hotel is located across the road from Hagley Park; the town centre is on the other side of the park. We received a warm welcome from reception for our 2-night stay and had a nice en-suite room with 2-Queen beds, a separate kitchenette, TV etc. Tea/coffee and milk are supplied; breakfast is not available here but you can go to their sister hotel not far away for breakfast. We also had a 3rd night booked for later in the month. When Covid-19 struck we retuned to the hotel earlier than planned and they brought forward our booking at no extra cost. With flights cancelled we had to stay for a further two nights and were given a preferential rate. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
We had two separate one night stays. The first we had travelled from Melbourne our first trip to New Zealand from the U.K. Check in lady was pleasant and room was fine, basic but fine. It’s a long walk to the town from this hotel about 2 - 3 miles, if you want to walk in and eat. Coming back was a nightmare as it was pitch black through the park and we got completely lost. On check out we had a horrible couldn’t give a dam older lady. We asked if we could leave our luggage as our flight was only a couple of hours later. She said oh yeah and didn’t have any safe facilities to leave them. Just standing alone to one side. On returning I asked if I could use the toilet before going to the airport which she replied ‘no go use the hotel down the road’. What kind of an answer is that for goodness sake? She was incredibly rude and quite hostile. Our second booked night we had a lovely check in lady but the room stank of smoke, so we had to moved to another room. All in all book somewhere else. …
We arrived mid morning after a long flight. There was no room ready, and when I asked about a toilet I was told there were none there and sent on a hike to the middle of the botanic garden! If the rooms were not ready, I could have used a loo! If a room had been cleaned, we could have had it! I was so tired this welcome was not helpful. The room itself was adequate but very tired. You had to fish around for a cable to get the fridge to work, pull it in front of the fridge and plug it in above the work surface. Wouldn’t want to stay here again. There are lots of motels in Christchurch
