Small campground, very pretty, super friendly hosts, huge showers, dog friendly. Owner has a dog too, so genuinely welcoming of our two big dogs. Showers are coin operated ($2 coin) so stock up on these when you check in, as office is not staffed for quite a large part of the day. They also own the holiday apartments next door. Five minute walk to the beach and Countdown is across the road.

We stayed here for one night and arrived at the specified time. The reception was not occupied, we could see which seat was allocated to us on a board. The showers were ok, but poorly ventilated. Unfortunately, we never saw an employee who could tell us the WIFI password. Unlimited Free Wifi is advertised but everything is encrypted and the password was nowhere to be found.

Met with a very warm welcome. The site was very clean and well laid out with facilities for able bodied and disabled visitors.
The showers were exceptional with huge amount of space and brilliant water flow and control. Cost $2 for 4 minutes of water.
The washing up facility was behind the laundry. The laundry cost $4 ea for washer and drier.
On the site there are multiple grey/black water dump points spaced around the site along with drinking water supplies.
The only thing missing for us was a camp kitchen but this did not detract from our enjoying the stay here.
The site is well place and provides easy access to both Paihia and the Whitangl Treaty Ground. An added bonus is the Countdown store opposite the site.

I would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a friendly site at the right money

Staying in a camper van, this was probably the worst of the 16 sites we stayed at in New Zealand. The facilities were very limited, with showers charged extra. There were only three standard toilets and two disabled ones for a site of so many pitches. Two standard showers and two disabled ones were again not really sufficient for so many pitches. The toilets were not clean and had been constructed of bare wood that was now showing signs of rot setting in. The catering facilities consisted of two barbecues which we were told didn't work properly and three sinks in the open air.
It is convenient being about a 10-minute walk into town, but that was its only benefit.

Room Tip: I would choose a site slightly further out of town if cleanliness and quality are important

Another great break away, this is our 4th visit and highly recommend, we stayed in our motorhome. Jan is very welcoming and good for a chat😊
The amenities get cleaned 4 times are day and previously I have read comments saying that they haven’t been cleaned which we find hard to believe.
Great location with Countdown over the road and easy walk into Paihia.
We cannot fault this place at all.
You will enjoy your stay,
Katrina and John

We visited in December with a campervan and stayed at this location. We were able to self check-in and setup without any booking or anyone present. You just check the whiteboard for the available parks and take your spot.

The campervans are parked between the olive trees and is very peaceful and quiet. The park has hot showers toilets, dump sites, free water, and Wi-Fi.

When the owner/host Jan arrived, she gave us a quick but thorough briefing of the park with her dog Ollie! Jan also gave us a map of the Bay of Islands and drew out the best places to visit, eat, and to park. She even drew a map of where the parking wardens roam!

Would definitely visit here again!

Great place to stop for a couple of nights. Super friendly hosts. Traveling with a family of 7 adults and 2 small children. 2 motorhomes and then a couple decided to grab an apartment. Super easy parking for motorhomes with plenty of room. No common area for cooking or eating but toilets and showers were clean. Be aware you do need to pay for the hot water in the showers. Easy walk to Countdown supermarket across the road. Careful the host may advise it's a 10-minute walk to everything but unless she walks super fast, it's not. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to Waitangi Grounds but it is a very easy and scenic walk. It's more like a 30-40 minute walk to Central Paihia so recommend driving but the main carpark does have motorhome parking for a reasonable cost so suggest driving there to catch the Ferries.
Apartment: Fantastic apartment. Just gorgeous. Beautiful decor, super clean, amazing hot shower, super large living/sleeping area. Cannot fault and highly recommend.
Please book direct from their website and support local businesses.

Nice park-like grounds. Facilities were fine - they had locked some of the showers/toilets I am assuming due to smaller tourist numbers with covid, but we never once had to wait so this was no issue at all. Although we encountered having to pay $2 for a shower elsewhere on our travels, I really wish we were just charged an extra $2 a night instead. Supermarket across road and handy to other locations. I wouldn't say it was an easy walk into the town centre - although I am pregnant so nothing is easy at the moment haha!

The only downsides are the noise from the road from early in the morning till late at night, and the neighbour in a wee shack runs a generator till the early hours which was very loud. Unfortunately this stuff is out of the camps control, so just something you have to be patient with and understanding of!

We initially drove past the Bay of Islands Holiday Park and Apartments heading for another and so pleased we did a u-turn with Jan returning our missed call when we were on the way.

An absolute fabulous camper, caravan and tent park with apartments at the rear of the property. Each spot is separated by Olive trees, the park and amenities (which are fully wheel chair accessible) are sparkling clean with everything you'll require.

And if they don't have it, Jan would just about move heaven and earth to source it.

Jan and her gorgeous side kick Ollie are delightful - Jan was so friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to, places to go and even organised a cruise for us after hours.

We were initially only staying one night however stayed for 2 as it was that great. We enjoyed some great banter and look forward to returning.

Thanks Jan & Ollie for everything. Best wishes & see you again soon :-)

We're a family of 4 (with 2x kids under 5yrs) who travelled around Northland for the very first time in a motorhome for 2x weeks from Wairarapa. This by far was the best paid-parking spot we found on our trip - a lovely, tidy section of olive grove with lots of shade/trees but plenty of sun too. The facilities were plentiful, thoughtful (hair dryers provided, family showers, charging stations for campers, etc.) and very clean! Security was great and overall the customer service was superb (the Owner was lovely, friendly, welcoming and helpful re: travel and attractions, services nearby etc.). The parking spots were spacious and each came with an outdoor table and outdoor chairs. We loved that we weren't right in the middle of town but were across the road from Countdown and just down the road from the petrol station while still being a 15min walk or 5min bike-ride into town or down to the beach. Highly recommended! We will be back :)
