Detailed Reviews
The dreaded word MOTEL brings certain expectations but One Tree Point motel exceeded all expectations. The rooms were very big and spacious, the location was so close to the beach and the receptionist that greeted us was warm and friendly. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be staying here again.

We booked this motel last minute so our expectations were pretty low. WOW what a nice surprise to find a lovely clean, modern, beautifully maintained property. We were towing a horse float and they even accomodated that in their parking area so we did not have to leave it out on the road.
Excellent stay and would definately return

The motel is quiet and very clean, with modern, spacious, well-appointed rooms. The beds are super comfortable! Kate and the team are really friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. And the breakfast is better than many cafes! I have been staying here regularly for years, so have been in most of the rooms, and they're all really good. Highly recommended.

Great location, very clean and recently revamped. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Across the road to the beach which was perfect. Room was a great size, and bed extremely comfortable.

clean with a great welcome ...what more do you want after a long day...great location to marsden Cove and Whangarei where we had a wonderful middle eastern meal...
The units are obviously new or newly renovated and have a lovely spa bath.
Sky Tv alas no news channel for the news junkies amongst us...

Booked 4 units which varied in size as to how many were staying in each. ALL were spotlessly clean and large. The manger was more than helpful. We had a family of 10 varying in ages from 8 to 90 and everyone loved it. My wife commented..."they even have a makeup removal kit". You don't get that in a 5 star hotel!

It’s a little off the beaten track but what an awesome motel and well worth the drive out to One Tree Point. It’s quite new which helps but the presentation of the grounds and units is outstanding. The rooms are quite standard in size but completely suitable for couples and well fitted out with quality appliances and equipment. We attended a local wedding and other wedding guests also stayed at the same motel. They were all as impressed as we were. This is a well managed motel and it shows!

Needing to get away from Auckland, we booked a couple of nights at this motel so that we could be close to friends staying at Ruakaka. We weren't expecting such a modern well equipped motel. Our studio apartment was big with a very comfortable king size bed (not the queen advertised on the website) a great bathroom with spa bath and separate shower, and the 'piece de resistance' was the wonderfully efficient air conditioning. Everything about the motel room suggested that the owners thought about quality when fitting out the motel.
Just a 10 min drive to the beach and shops at Ruakaka, and with Marsden Point Marina (with it's cafe) just around the corner, the location was good.
The perfect spot for two nights. We are already planning a winter weekend break here as we thing it would be the perfect spot.

+1
We drove up from Auckland to One Tree Point Motel and the drive was nice but getting through Auckland was not nice! Our reception at the motel was uplifting, the owner was so friendly it was fantastic. She told us about the motel and the breakfast menu and also she phoned a local restaurant to make sure they were still open. The room was perfect, large bed , spacious surroundings and a large bathroom. Breakfast arrived at 8am and it was delicious. A great stay!

The motel may be a little small overall, but room wasn't, the shower wasn't, and the jacuzzi tub definitely wasn't small. The staff, as you would expect throughout New Zealand, is extremely kind and friendly. The birds...well the birds can get a bit loud, but the mostly chilled out at night. And who really needs to sleep in when you have a beach easily within walking distance? And let's just be honest, there isn't anywhere you go where you don't hear birds. The room was extremely clean, well kept over multiple days and all the white ware was in great shape.
If there on business, the refinery is only about a 7 minute drive if you're going the speed limit. Grocery store is 8 minutes unless you're driving crazy and then it's 6.
