Nestled in a prime location, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth garners praise from many travelers for its stunning views and proximity to local attractions. The luxurious rooms with their spaciousness and upscale amenities impress guests, although some have raised concerns about noise and service inconsistencies.
While the hotel's cleanliness receives commendations, opinions on value and service quality vary, with some guests finding it overpriced and experiencing unpredictable service. The bar's atmosphere is noted to be less inviting, detracting from the overall ambiance for some visitors.

Ever since this opened late last year I have been looking for an excuse to book an overnight stay. My fiancée’s birthday provided the perfect opportunity to indulge. Located on the waterfront at Elizabeth Quay, it has great views over the river and back towards the city. Taking advantage of my Marriot Group membership I booked a Premium River Room with club access. Not cheap but it was a special occasion. When we arrived we were given the option to upgrade at no extra cost to a Studio Room (larger room but with restricted river views) nice touch.
The club package meant we had full access to the club lounge on the sixth floor, with its large open balcony overlooking Elizabeth Quay. The benefits include complimentary breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, evening hors d’oeuvres and deserts, with free drinks - definitely don’t need to book a meal elsewhere with the club package (worth paying the extra $). Loved the food, the local gins and whiskey on offer. If anything some of the drinks were too strong with the amount of alcohol
The room we had was spacious with a large bathroom & freestanding bathtub. Our view was out over the Supreme Court gardens, which was fine. The full blockout blinds on the floor to ground windows meant that we weren’t disturbed by the morning light.
I really appreciated the hotel’s collection of quality books, in the lobby, club lounge and rooms.
The pool area, which is a heated outdoor infinity pool overlooking Elizabeth Quay was full of pretty young things taking Instagram moments in the afternoon, which meant that there were no vacant sun beds and you were likely to be prejudged by the millennials there. If you want a swim I’d suggest going in the morning before the afternoon influx.
The only gripe that I have is the cost of the parking but in the end that was a small price to pay for the convenience of taking the valet parking option.
Check in and check out went very smoothly with no delays or issues.
It is definitely worth staying at the Ritz if you are deciding on having a decadent getaway in Perth.

My partner treated me to a one night stay here for my birthday. We were upgraded to a Premium King room which had amazing views of the Bell Tower, Swan River and Langley park. We were still in stage 2 of Covid so the restaurants and bars in the hotel weren't open, however the pool was open as was the bar if you ordered a snack. The pool is meant to be heated, but I found it a bit chilly, buy hey it's winter here in Perth!
My partner had brought the ingredients to make Espresso Martini's and asked for 2 cocktail glasses for the room, not only did we get these, but the barman made us complimentary Espresso Martini's in our room!
As we couldn't eat in the hotel, my partner had already booked outside for a brunch at the jetty and an early dinner across the river via the ferry, at Mr Walker's (highly recommend)
Everything about our room was so luxurious, beautiful velvety dressing gowns and slippers, amazing toiletries arranged in a wooden display box and electric blinds. The only criticism I have is the bath tub, it's big enough for 2 however the tap doesn't move so my selfless partner had the tap end (well it was my birthday!) and had to tilt his head to the side to lie back. My end didn't have any head rest and the edge was quite slim, so not the most relaxing of soaks.
We were lucky to get an early check in at 12pm and late check out at 3pm, so it really felt longer than one night. Breakfast in our room was included too as well as valet parking.
Overall we had a great time, but unless you're loaded it's really only for a special occasion at $600 for the night.

It’s always great when everything you need or want is taken care of with no fuss and discretion . This is an excellent hotel and well worth the nightly tariff we paid . The car we drove there in was whisked away by the valet Parking chap ( be aware though that there is a $65 per day charge — this is my only gripe ) and the receptionist was friendly and efficient and we went up to our room on the .9th floor. The views out towards the swan river and fantastic and makes me even more appreciative of how lucky I am to live in WA! . We loved the room ! Spacious and well appointed and the bathroom area was superb , quality throughout . The bed is very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep . The auto blinds completely block out any daylight and do we were not woken by sunlight etc
We loved this hotel and will be back one day for sure

We stayed for my wife's birthday in a suite which was very nicely appointed with great views apart from the dirty coffee table which had not been cleaned, so much for Covid-19 deep cleans. There appears to be a common theme in reviews and that is about the service unfortunately I have to add to those as well. We arrived no valet in sight, unloaded our own bags ($65 for valet parking). Waited 20 minutes at reception, no separate check in counter for Marriott members which seemed odd. Staff were pleasant asked why we were staying said wife's birthday and that was that as far as her birthday went. No ice machines so we have to call and request 45 minutes and a reminder call later ice bucket arrives. Headed down to Hearth lounge for a drink and were abruptly told its high tea it was only after we challenged the waiter about where were house guests supposed to get a drink ( since Songbird didn't open until 4pm) he begrudgingly showed us to a table. Sunday morning breakfast. Long queue 20 minute wait we were offered coffee and the staff member said they were very busy and its not normally like this (other reviews would not agree). We were seated in the Hearth lounge ordered breakfast then waited and waited 1 hour. Totally unacceptable you could tell the waitress was very embarrassed. If you know you are full then make changes stagger times or take bookings waiting 1 hour for bacon and eggs is unacceptable in a 5 star hotel. When you pay over $1000 a night for a suite look after your guests better. We have stayed at Ritz Carlton hotels around the world and sadly this would be the worst service experience. Unless changes are made I would be reluctant to return far better hotels in Perth who know about service for the price we paid.

Our eight day stay at Ritz was just exceptional. We'd definitely stay here again. We really like this luxury style with relaxed attitude. This is how 5 star hotel should be. Ritz has returned to Australia and they really did it well. Hotel has the most beautiful interior design we've ever seen. Pool area is really welcoming with nice views. Once again elite status was worthy and room was upgraded. Room and bathroom both were very well organised. Smallest size of the room is 50sqm which allows this. The most luxurious thing at the room was the bath tub in the front of the floor to ceiling windows. We'd bought some nice wines from the Swan Valley winery tour and we had a daily bathing session sipping the wine and watching the view. There are so many things in this room which makes it so good: height, wood, rock, full wall windows, double auto blinds and sheers, bed, AC, dual sink, rain shower, amenities, coffee maker. We only took smaller continental breakfast and it was really good. Our eating habits differ a lot but we both got what we wanted. Variation wasn't huge but well chosen articles and the quality was excellent. Location at Elizabeth Quay could not be any better just excellent almost in the middle of everything. Hotel staff was excellent but they still need some time before everything stitches together being just perfect. There were few glitches like no one had ever tried the bath tub since rubber seal ring was missing from the drain so tub could not hold any water. Or do not try to remove bedside clock power since backup battery was not working properly since no one cared yet to remove that safety plastic clip.
Despite of these few things the hotel is absolutely stunning.

Knowing the Ritz Carlton hotels as one of the best around the world sorry to say the new one in Perth is very disappointing and definitely not up to a 5 or 6 star standard. My husband and myself were really excited about our stay we chose a lovely room with a view which was amazing but that’s where it stopped. We payed the extra for club access which gave us a check in in our room which we were not offered only checked in at the front reception so off to a great start. Will note our other concerns as follows:
The air conditioning in our room was extremely noisy we had difficulty sleeping both nights of our stay. Shutting on and off with loud clunks everytime it did.
Housekeeping was hit and miss, wanting to do a turn down at 4.30, we had to request bathroom amenities first up that hadn’t been done for our arrival. First night the wet bath towels were not taken. Second night after the morning housekeeping had been done we had to request all bathroom amenities as nothing had been replaced at all everything was empty. Turn down that night was again hit and miss wet towels not taken again and bins were not emptied. Towels were also not replace but how they be when only a small trolley with nothing on it comes to your room.
Club lounge, so very disappointing. Service was next to nothing, no one asked it you wanted a drink continually you had to keep getting up and asking a staff member that’s when of course you could find one and they weren’t carrying trays of glasses plates etc. Not one staff member was focused on serving guests or clearing dirty tables they were left. Continually going in and out of the kitchen who knows what for. Evening cocktails on both nights was horrible, even to the point when they did pick up glasses they didn’t ask whether you would like a replacement. There were kids screaming at high pitch no one asked them to tone down. There was no direction or guidance from management to the staff.
Breakfast at the club lounge again both mornings, there was no welcome, after sitting down we had to try and get the attention of a staff member for coffee, the chef we had to wait for both mornings she was also continually in the kitchen and the hot food was cold.
On our check our lobby again because no one was in the reception club lounge, not even did you enjoy your stay with us, it was can I have your credit card and sign the invoice not even a goodbye disgusting.
For a hotel of this caliber , the price we paid for our room and also the club assess was atrocious, so very disappointing and we had saved hard for this stay and knowing we would be well looked after with the brand of Ritz Carlton was a slap in the face. We travel the world and all the hotels we stay at have either a club or access to, eg Ritz Carlton Singapore (amazing). The Ritz Carlton Perth needs to upgrade their standards to meet a 5/6 star hotel rating.
So very disappointed would not recommend at this time.

There is a great deal to love about the Ritz and we had a wonderful stay. The views are spectacular. The location is fantastic, a close walk to most things in Perth, and right on Elizabeth Quay which is a beautiful spot to sit relax and enjoy the sites. The rooms are plush and well appointed. The block-out blinds ensure complete darkness so you can comfortably sleep in, dispute the floor to ceiling windows. Seperate enclosed toilet which I believe is a must, beautiful bath and bathroom. The toiletries are high quality.
We had a few minor issues: the button for raising/lowering the blinds has a mind of its own and is painful to operate. It’s slow and you have to hold the button manually for a long time. The automatic option rarely worked and often worked against us, going up went we down and vice versa. The TV came on at midnight automatically. The air-conditioner we felt was loud. The shower water temp kept changing from hot to cold, so not a pleasant consistent shower. The soft close drawers didn’t work and we had difficulty closing the top drawer. The hotel could not get the BonVoy electronic phone key to work.
The service was not what we are familiar with, or use to, in this level of hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful but not as attentive or preemptive as other great hotels.
The TV remote had no batteries when we arrived. No water was provided on arrival or first day (was provided all following days). The ‘make up my room’ light is ignored (we had it on all day, but cleaners only came after 4pm when we had returned to the room to get ready for dinner and turned the light off. There was no turn down on first night, but was provided on other nights.
These are minor and many would say petty, but for a 5 star hotel charging in excessive of $600 a night in my humble opinion not good enough. Not what I am use to in the Marriott chain, which I believe is exemplary.
My biggest negative is the lack of space and facilities. The rooms were very spacious. The relaxing spaces were limited and small. The pool and pool deck was very small and often crowded. The bars weren’t open for periods so you are limited to the hotel restaurant for coffees or relaxing. The Westin Hasan amazing foyer for sitting and relaxing, the foyer / bars here cannot compare.
Ritz would be my 3rd best hotel in Perth after Como Treasury (clear winner) and Westin.

No one at valet parking upon arrival. The check in went well and our room was unbelievable. The block out blinds are fantastic and the room extremely comfortable. Everything else is dismal with this being the worst service we have ever experienced. The breakfast experience was disappointing to the point that we did not even get a coffee although we had been sitting there for at least an hour. The staff do not seem to know what their role actually is and that is to look after paying guests (we unfortunately stayed for 3 nights) and breakfast did not improve much over the next 2 mornings. Our door bell went off at 12.39am waking us and the staff are the only ones that could have done this. No milk was left in our room on the second morning, and when we rang reception to have our car brought around, when going down to the lobby some 10-15 later, no one from valet parking knew of our request. Very disappointing service from such a prominent establishment. Have been offered a voucher to stay again, but we are not in a hurry to do so at this point in time.

We booked a suite overlooking Elizabeth Quay for my father's 70th birthday as a surprise and mentioned this to the hotel.
I was amazed at the effort the hotel manager and staff put into making it feel special.
We arrived at the room to find the numbers "70" in helium balloons next to the bed along with cake, confetti, a small gift and a nice card. The staff greeted us by name and were super warm and friendly.
The room had an uninterrupted view of Elizabeth Quay from the bedroom right through to the bathroom and even from the bath. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud with down doonas and pillows. The window blinds are all electronically controlled from the bed.
The hotel itself feels like a unique boutique hotel rather than a chain and has a completely different feel than Crown. I absolutely loved the intimate and luxurious feel of this hotel.
Will definitely be back for another special occasion.

Every feature that could possibly go into making premium five star hotel experience has been carefully thought through and beautifully executed at the Ritz Carlton Perth. Some highlights of our room included a very large bathtub, a convenient open wardrobe and electric curtains.
RCP’s Elizabeth Quay location provides excellent views either over the Swan River or across the city. The restaurant district of Northbridge is about a 15 minute walk away through the centre of town.
Hearth restaurant on the ground floor serves and excellent breakfast however with the Covid slowdown in business travel Hearth’s operating hours are limited. This is not a problem as there are plenty of excellent restaurants within easy walking distance including the excellent Six Senses Thai which is only a 100m stroll from the hotel.
The manager of the Ritz Carlton Perth Gopu Nayar and his staff will make you feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Dear LMCM111,
Apologies for our delayed response and thank you for your interest in our hotel. Our deluxe rooms are spread across all levels of the hotel from level 6 to 18 and have various views. We have reopened Hearth Restaurant for a la carte breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and also have our in room dining menu available. Apologies we were unable to assist you in time on this occasion and we hope to welcome you soon.
Warm regards,
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth
It is but not very warm.
We braved one day but not the next. If the spa was where we thought it was it wasn't easy to find, not warm and shallow. Maybe the spa refers only to the health spa and was our mistake.
