Hostel G Perth garners praise for its prime location, offering easy access to public transportation and the city center, which many guests find convenient. While the hostel's rooms are celebrated for their modern touches and practical amenities like individual power sockets and storage space, some guests have cited issues with noise, cleanliness, and room layouts. Opinions on value are mixed; some guests feel the pricing is fair, while others disagree.
The service is generally regarded as helpful, yet there are occasional reports of variability. Despite a warm reception for the overall cleanliness, calls for better maintenance in kitchenettes and bathrooms have been noted.

Detailed Reviews
Staff were friendly and ready to help, rooms and bathrooms were also cleaned daily. The highlight of the hostel is probably the beds, omg they were so comfy immediately.
However, the kitchen is a huge disappointment, with limited cooking/washing areas for the numbers that were staying in the hostel. There were only 1/2 microwaves available. Additionally, it makes for a weird social experience when the long-timers are roomed with travellers. It might be beneficial to have separate rooms for these groups? The hostel also lacked social activities, so if you're intending to book this hostel, you may which to consider that.
Just FYI to place your linen on your beds, I've seen a few rooms and the number of people who simply sleep on the mattresses without linen.....it's pretty gross.

Hostel is clean and modern. There is a large communal area with plenty of tables and chairs, good if you want to work whilst here.
However, there is no kitchen only a tiny, under equipped and messy kitchenette. You can’t cook any food other than microwave/toaster during your stay so you’ll be eating out a lot.
Rooms are clean but they’re tiny there is very little space, they are ensuite rooms and there are no communal showers so you might get woken up early or kept up late by roommates showering. I prefer a hostel which provides access to communal bathrooms for this reason (ensuite too is a bonus).
There is absolutely no atmosphere at this hostel, no one talks to each other and there are a lot of strange people staying at the hostel.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to move rooms straight away after we had an awful night staying in a room with a strange man who kept us up all night.
Overall the hostel is fine for a short stay and better than others in the area. I think it could be improved a lot and is completely overpriced for what you get.

As advertised, clean and have all facilities. in a convenient location, 10 minutes walk to Perth train station and Murray Street mall. Had a pleasant stay.
I would give a 4 stars if have extra showers in the common bathrooms, as one shower in the shared room is not enough. Also the towel rail next to the toilet and door should be removed, should be placed on the same side of mirror, I hit my head twice by the towels rail.

The positives would be the hostel was relatively clean and the decor modern. However, this hostel is not worth the price you are paying. Some rooms are smaller than others. Not all of the spaces underneath the bunks fit suitcases and mess was left from previous visitors such as belongings and toiletries that just kept getting left by cleaner each day, rather than enquire who the mess actually belonged to. I shared a 4 bed room with 3 men the second time I visited the hostel and in my opinion the surfaces of the bathroom were not being cleaned sufficiently for someone sharing with 3 men working in construction. I kept my bed/area clear or clutter and mess and made my bed each day so there were no objects getting in the way of properly cleaning the floor etc. The kitchen facilities are very disappointing. There were NO cooking hobs, very little counter space and what counter space was free was wet/dirty. There were not enough fridges and because of this people kept pushing their shopping on top of yours, crushing whatever new food you just bought. There is only one sink to clean your dishes/spillages. There was one small air fryer/oven which was always in use. There was rarely hand soap in the communal toilets. Staff were helpful some of the time. I requested a female dorm as part of my online booking as this was not an option at the time of booking however this request was completely ignored and not even addressed at reception when checking in. One positive was when I found a place to stay I did receive a refund on all of the nights I had booked with 48 hours notice which is very good. I have been really shocked at the prices of hostels in Perth since moving here, they are far too expensive and furthermore you are not even getting close to value for your money.

This review is for the Head Office/Venue Owners to consider taking some action on the kitchen venue.
I have been a loyal customer of Hostel G for their outstanding staff at the reception, especially Bella, Mika and Jordan, and the comfortable bed they offer after my hard-working days. Still, the kitchen has always been an issue at this hostel. The current average price per night is $57 in a shared room, making this hostel the most expensive in Perth. I think after the multiple reviews from your customers suggesting a proper kitchen, you should consider putting some effort towards it. Today I woke up with no toaster not microwave, so it is not only no stoves but nothing else to cook a meal.
This is a constructive review. I hope it will soon be considered.

I stayed here for 4 nights recently and was impressed with the cleanliness and overall service. I stayed in a room with bunk beds and liked that every bed had plug sockets, a light and shelves. To make things even better for privacy though it'd be nice to have curtains.

A truly beautiful hostel, really like the style, with big bunk beds with a good matrass. Room is little small, with not a lot of space to storage luggage. The common area is also quite big, with a pool table, bar and sort of cinema. However, it’s a shame that there is not a kitchen. It’s a kitchenette with some microwaves, toasters, airfyers and electric grill, but, apart from the microwave, not suitable for someone with food allergies. Also, dry food needs to be stored in the locker in the room. Overall I think it’s quite expensive (paid around $80 a night with a booking made two days prior) for what you get. Nonetheless, the location is excellent and honestly I’ll be back for that and the quality of the beds.

rooms are meh, it's adequate. we stayed for a week and found it to be a little tedious constantly going down one level to the communal pantry to boil hot water. pantry can be crowded at times, gotta avoid peak times. pantry equipment is dirty and the fridge is messy and someone's been drinking our almond milk. Hostel G is good for a few nights and those who need a space to work in strong wifi. loads of restaurants around, uber eats deliver to the hostel. vending machines items easily cost $3 to $5. there's a pool table to play. bike rentals are free, we rented and explored the city which is wonderful. bike may be too high for people 5 feet and under. laundry cost $4 for a round about 30 mins. dryer is another $4.

I would recommend this hostel for anyone looking for a more quiet and calm stay in Perth, all the shared rooms in my experience have been clean and room mates are quiet. You will be able to get a good nights sleep. There is always a nice mix of people staying but generally younger people in their 20's to 30's which is perfect if you're looking to meet some people. The staff are very friendly and happy to help, there is someone at the front desk 24/7 which is another reason you feel safe at this hostel, all the room's have key-card access which is a bonus.

Very spacious and modern hostel. Has every modern convenience, even a good cafe. Rooms were of very high standard, great to have USBs/power sockets by the bed. Whole stack of brochures/maps for places to go. Laundry available and well maintained. Great location by the station and easy to find. Only annoying part was the room key system. Keep jamming and had to keep going to reception to get it corrected, but only a minor thing.
