Rydges Perth Kings Square offers a blend of experiences for its guests. While the rooms are noted for their comfort and modernity, some guests have voiced concerns over maintenance and cleanliness, with occasional remnants from prior occupants. The hotel's atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with modern amenities being a highlight amidst some reports of impersonal service.
Despite its prime CBD location that facilitates exploration, the hotel's amenities are limited, lacking essentials such as on-site parking. Additionally, the service has been called out for being unresponsive at times, which, coupled with hidden charges, has impacted the perceived value of staying here.

Detailed Reviews
We had a four-night stay and were able to walk or use an excellent public transport system to get around Perth as the hotel is in a great location; it's located a short distance from both the railway station and underground, and there are several restaurants, pubs and cafes in close proximity. Our room was spotless, the king bed was very comfy and the bathroom not only looked good but was also practical - towel rails for all towels and a good ventilation system - and the room was serviced each day, with toiletries replaced. The reception staff were always welcoming and ready to answer any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to Perth.

Special shout out to Eric (Hotel Manager) who changed our rooms after a small issue on the first night, and gave us a really lovely room with a view on the 12th floor. Left our bags with him and after returning for the day, bags were in room, chocolate on each bed, was such a sweet gesture. Always made sure that we were happy and that there were no issues with anything during our stay there. A real credit to the Hotel and to Accor, as are the other staff who we met during our time there and the assistance that was always given.
The hotel is very well located to all attractions and conveniences. Perth bus port and train station are well within 10min walking distance, shopping malls, eateries and supermarkets are within easy walking distance. Free CAT bus services are great for getting around the CBD and run frequently. Our room was outstanding and cleaned every day to the highest of standards. Breakfast was available at the hotel (no lunch or dinner due to Covid) and room service for breakfast was also available. Staff went over and beyond during our stay and can't thank them enough for making our stay most pleasurable. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future, when we again visit Perth

Room Tip: Higher floors are great. Lovely sunny rooms facing street. Little street noise, but not excessive.

Staff were friendly and assisted with check-in being a simple process.
Room was modern, very clean & tidy, bathroom was modern & clean and room was made up daily with fresh towels provided also.
Short 2min walk to couple of pubs and restaurants in the street behind the hotel, or 10 min walk over into Northbridge where there is a bit more nightlife.
Couple of small issues -
You have to pay for WIFI which I think is a bit of joke in this day and age.
In room entertainment was decent, a few free movies and free to air but no Netflix feature on the TV which is becoming a standard in most hotels I've stayed at in Major Cities - log in with your own Netflix account and log out before you leave.
Although, with paid WIFI I don't know who's going to do that even if they did have the option.
Certainly not an issue that would deter me from staying again though, after all if you're visiting you shouldn't be watching TV all day and night.
The major issue is Car Parking.
The hotel does not have a Car Park and has an agreement with Wilson Parking at the Raine Centre which is 300m down the road, so it is a long walk to and from your car everyday plus trips up and down lifts and escalators.
Pricing was $30 per day and travelling on business for 5 days, I think that $150 for parking was very steep considering the distance I had to walk to and from my car multiple times per day.
Those are Sydney and Melbourne prices to park your car, certainly not Perth I wouldn't have thought.
I have a personal trip coming up to Perth later in the year and they would need to reduce that parking cost by half for me to consider staying there when I have to pay for the parking out of my own pocket.
Other than that, it was a very lovely stay and I would recommend it as a very clean and modern place, close to the action and a great place to stay if you don't plan on parking a car.

Have stayed here many times before and always had a pleasant stay, this time not so much. On arrival our wine was not waiting in our room as expected when asked at reception to have it chilled when we came back when we arrived it was sitting on the shelf lukewarm no ice-bucket or it could have been put in the fridge which I had already asked them to look at as it was not cold either. Next day left room at 11.15am to attend the races on arrival back @ 5pm room had not been made up or cleaned. Reception were quick to give us fresh towels and fresh glasses but overall a disappointing stay. Reception staff were wonderful and very helpful when needed so I give them credit but think I may try a different hotel next time especially as this was supposed to be “a luxury escape”. On a positive note this is a quiet location central to bars and restaurants with shopping mall a short stroll away. Car parking for 2 days cost $25.00 in Raine Square car park which is 500 metre walk to the hotel just remember to get a ticket from reception to get discount as ours went from $157.00 to $25.00.

We made a booking here on a Tuesday night recently before heading to the arena for a show, after dining last year and were pleased with the food and service. We booked for 6.30 so we would have plenty of time to drink and eat before our show. We ordered and received our drinks while we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. Not once were we communicated with about the wait in the kitchen, so we were happy waiting to order as a group. We ordered, still no communication about the wait that would occur. It was not until another patron pointed out they’d been waiting 45 minutes for their food- keep in mind there were only 4 other groups in the actual restaurant, that we had noticed the time. It was only upon their complaint we OVERHEARD that it was because there were a lot of room service orders. Having a busy kitchen is fine. However, the lack of communication has turned me off of this establishment. Staff would have been aware of the wait when we ordered, and it would have been courteous to ask if we would still like to dine. 55 minutes after ordering and we had to CANCEL our food order (that was mostly made up of your 3 for $30 tapas, so not a lot of food) because we would not have our show on time. Whilst we received our drinks complementary which was appreciated. Your staff need to work on their communication through the restaurant, and how they interact with customers.

Hi, I stay at many hotels on a regular basis, I booked a 2 day package deal which included 2 free drinks, daily breakfast, popcorn free movies, valet parking, and a Nespresso machine in the room. This was my first visit to Peppers and it won’t be the last. Even though the electricity cut out on the second day while we were watching a movie the staff were wonderfull and professionally at all times. A special thank you to Fabio and Lek from food and beverage they are amazing it was funny cause at breakfast I was asked another coffee I said no then he joked how about a glass of champagne to which I said yes. Surprised the gentleman got me a glass very accommodating. Front office Jeff, Mat and Daniel they rock especially when I said let me know where to park my car and Daniel insisted it valet. Even though the electricity went out and I had another car to be valet parked it was done. The General Manager sat down and spoke to me about the inconvenience and organized part of the reimbursement I also got a 5 pm check out. This hotel is not only very professional but they actually take care in their job and treat guests as family. Thank you so much will recommend and be back💋

We upgraded to an executive room, which was very comfortable.
We could not get near enough to the hotel on arrival to park and check in. There is a small very narrow lane way that runs from Wellington St to Murray St with no indication of which way the traffic flows. We parked up eventually on Murray St in a multi storey and fortunately our one suit case was easily wheeled the 100 metres or so to the hotel.
The hotel info was all available on the room tv screen. I checked breakfast times and saw it was served up to 10-30 am on a weekend. Next morning we arrived at breakfast at 9-45 am. The waiter looked somewhat taken aback. There was only enough orange juice for 1 person, the tank on the tea maker was dry, there was no butter or bacon. The water tank was refilled, butter produced. The chef lifted the lid of the scrambled eggs and they looked disgusting. I asked the waiter if we could have a fried egg. He had to go find the chef. He cooked the eggs, burnt on the bottom runny white on the top. My breakfast at a cost of $30 consisted of one slice of toast 3 mushrooms, half a scoop of congealed baked beans and half of a very sad looking tomato, plus the delicious burnt egg, one cup of black tea. I heard the waiter and chef grumbling together about breakfast times and their attitude prevented me from complaining and asking for fresh food. It transpired that breakfast time had been changed to finish at 10am. The receptionist enlightened me as we checked out next day. There was still a sign on reception saying that breakfast on a weekend lasted until 10 -30am.
Needless to say we breakfasted elsewhere next day. It's a soul less hotel, with about as much vibe as a grave yard.
We used the fantastic bar of the new Novotel directly behind Rydges. I also found we could have stayed there at a cheaper rate!
Will not be returning.

The package including room, valet parking, breakfast and cocktail was great value. A second night upgrade without equivocation was a bonus- after TV in original room malfunctioned. This was consistent with the attention paid to all aspects of our stay by all staff- an excellent team.

The hotel was in the heart of the west end of town not to far for the many eateries of Raine square if it’s movie theatre and also short distance to the shopping strips. It’s not that far from the luxury shopping strip of Elizabeth quay. The rooms themselves are modern decoration and quite large as from the outside the hotel looks rather Small. The only issue I had was my air conditioning wasn’t working but that was quickly fixed by a fan being bought into my room. The staff went above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay

The location of the hotel is very good, within a short walk from the main Perth station and close to the shops, bars etc. Our room was one of the middle rooms and it was an accessible bathroom which was a bit odd as we hadn't requested one. We didn't have big windows either but the room was large, clean and comfortable and as we were only staying for one night it was fine.
We had breakfast included and there was a bit of a wait between getting our coffee until our food arrived but the breakfast was huge and very tasty.
Overall it was a comfortable nights stay in a good central location. I think if we were going again though we would ask for a city view room.

Good Morning,
Unfortunately, we do not have any balconies at our hotel so no smoking rooms are available.
Try our sister property Mantra on Hay as they have rooms with outdoor areas which allow for this.
